Grand Army Plaza is a nice, peaceful, and fun place in Brooklyn. It is a relaxing park, great for walks and to spend time with dogs. The area is clean and looks nice with many cool monuments, including the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch. The beautiful Brooklyn Public Library is there. Public toilets are available at the library, museum, park entrance, and in portable units. There is no playground or picnic area. Some construction may limit access. It is a legendary spot to see.
I love this whole area, always a hustle and bustle, steady flow of people going in every direction. There's a sense of urgency and purpose but also a thrill that is derived from just being there.
