I can't believe I'm writing a bad review of a library but this is not, in fact, a "library". It's a daycare center full of toddlers, stay at home parents and/or their nannies. An actual library is a space for ALL members the community to read, study and work quietly. This is not that. Also, babies can't even read! Why do they get half a library? The design is a open concept nightmare. Imagine this: You work at a startup and your boss is a baby and your coworkers are also babies plus there are no walls or doors. Fun!Please, just build a glass partition around the work and reading wing so people who actually use the library as a library can do so in relative peace.Staff is great and deserve all the money.

Sadly, me as well I would have to leave a one-star review. It was my first time and the last. At first, it looks like a nice library, which doesn't get me wrong, it is, architecture etc but that's all. It's more like a child day care.... it's very laud, nanny bringing the kids and they are screaming, crying. I like kids, but that's a library where you go to read and study and the noise canceling headphones don't work. Second, omg the smell... there was a homeless person behind me and smelly food like rotten cabbage... it just made me nauseous... you can't concentrate on anything by noise and smell. I better choose a local coffee shop than that.

Crowded and noisy with infants and todlers. Terrible. Impossible to enjoy the library. The facility would be nice if it wasn't for the cacophony of screaming and crying babies.

I mean... this is a library and I understand there are not many seats inside. However, does it really make sense to allow the public to enjoy the library when kids are constantly crying, screaming, and yelling?

This is a children’s library, basically. It’s loud and there is limited space to read or work. I was very disappointed to see that the areas with natural light on the second floor were all dedicated to children as well. Don’t get me wrong, I love kids, but wish this was advertised as such.

Easily the loudest library I’ve ever been to. It’s like if you were hanging out at an airport that has a lot of books. Nice bathrooms tho.

It’s a nice spot for kids and they have a digital library card easy to access online books and activities

What a gorgeous new library in Greenpoint! I absolutely love the three different outdoor spaces as well as the focus on sustainability at this location. It gets pretty busy at times but there are lots of tables and chairs around so there's space for everyone. If I lived a little closer, I would come here all the time! The Greenpoint branch is right around the corner from the Nassau Av (G) station.

The staff seem great but I have yet to spend any time at this library as it seems to be completely unsuitable for research, study, and work. I just called to confirm if the library is in fact loud and the answer from a kind employee was “yes.” What a waste. The poor (but extremely expensive) design seems to be at fault here.

A beautiful library, but it is unfortunately used as a daycare center by nannies taking care of small ones. As I'm sitting here, a woman is carrying on a full conversation on her phone in the "adult" section. Librarians are attentive and nice.

A really nice Library. The staff is sooo friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. They're all ready to help with anything you ask them for.It has a beautiful atmosphere. The second level has outdoor reading space. The whole place is very very clean and the restrooms are spotless.A real GEM in Greenpoint.

It's incredibly loud. Great new facility with meeting rooms and very pleasant staff. But it feels nothing like a library and totally like a playground with no rules. It's great that they have community events and kids reading space (not a separate room and not used for reading but rather playing), but everyone is incredibly loud, including parents chatting with each other, and there is no corner that's actually suitable for quite work. Unfortunate.

This is the loudest library in all the land. It’s basically a daycare full of crying, screaming kids who can be heard through noise-cancelling headphones even from a room on the second floor. ? Love kids, but there are essentially no standards of behavior here. The parents/caregivers certainly don’t give a f.If you’re looking for a quiet place to read or work for a while, try literally anywhere else lol. Otherwise, it’s beautiful, modern, and clean, with friendly staff.

Beautiful library space, wonderful since they redid it. Comfortable places to read with kids.
