I spent $1500 bought a Taylor guitar there, never been used until 3 weeks later went to my first guitar lesson. My teacher told me the string sound weird and buzz, so I took it back to guitar center, they told me guitar neck need to be adjust and not cover by warranty, I was very disappointed felt like been trick. Definitely won’t shop there no more.

I have been following up about a job application I sent in for this location for the past week now...finally got ahold of a manger on the phone today. As I was mentioning that I applied and was about to ask to set up an interview, I was rudely interrupted by the "manager" to tell me he's not hiring till spring/summer. I proceeded to ask why there were a bunch of job listings online (for this specific location) and he said quote "we're always taking in applications" and then began to hang up on me. I found this EXTREMELY unprofessional... #1 to be posting that many job listings as "immediate job offers" and then #2 to say they "keep them on file" just in case. When you are hiring for a job, say what you mean or don't put the listing up. Seems like the type of manager to want free labor.

I brought my guitar to get restrung. One of the bridge pins had snapped off and I thought it might need to be drilled out, Pat and Dan figure out the best way to remove it. They not only restrung my guitar, they polished the frets and the body and brought her back to life. Pat and Dan went above and beyond, and most importantly they care. Thanks again fellas.

I had a great experience there today. Sean helped me pick out a microphone. He was knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and encouraging. Thanks Sean and thanks Guitar Center

I am 19 y/o but i was treated as a child while shopping there looking at guitars and drums.I understand the 18+ rule in the mall as many children go there to cause trouble but i was stopped twice to ask about my age and was given glares by employees, specially this older gentleman, bald, with a grey beard and glasses who continued to say to me and my group of friends” you know you have to be 18 to shop here without a adult” in a very rude tone. I told him i was 19, but he continued about his day. I was very displeased with my visit and felt unwelcome for being younger. the nicest associate i faced was this younger man, white, i believe lighter hair, who offered to assist us while looking at guitars.was looking to purchase a percussion instrument but now very hesitant to go back.

I brought in my bass for repair and the guy fixed it right there, didn’t even need to wait and come back. Super quick and easy!

The only Guitar Center I've ever been to that doesn't let you try out the acoustic drums. Only the electronic sets that weren't even working. Was gonna buy something, but didn't bother.

You have to be 18+ to enter now?? It makes no sense at all. Just because some teenage hoodlums from the neighborhood act up doesn’t mean they can ruin it for the rest of us i actually play an instrument and the security gaurds are so unwelcoming. I came here looking to purchase a new guitar but instead told me to leave for not being 18 even though im 17.

I purchased a “new” guitar pedal online which shipped from this store. I received a clearly used one with no original box or paperwork. I used to like Guitar Center and MusiciansFriend (same company) but they have gone way downhill. I’ll be ordering from Sweetwater from now on; they are by far superior.

Horrible workers, very rude. Stalkerish. When you don’t know what you’re doing wrong you start to wonder are they racist? Do they not like gay people? I’ve been harassed from the time I got in the store about my age, I end up purchasing a studio bundle from this store and the same guy harassing me didn’t believe I purchased this item. The security guard that hangs by the door was actually nice, helped me out in this situation. Horrible experience for a paying customer!

Worst experience, I ever had… great purchasing stuff, good place for setup but when you have an issue that they don’t know how to solve they don’t put the effort.Today, i wanted to report an issue that I was wishing they would resolve. One of my teacher reported they was some issue around the head stock when I play an open D string… I went to one of the old repair man and told him the issue regarding a open D string…. He herd the issue but then the few times I pluck the d string then he couldn’t hear the sound, dude told me to verify this from a cashier. Cashier played my guitar, herd the hissing sound and gave me some recommendation what I can do with the guitar which actually cost more then buying the guitar. That was fair but hear is the weird thing was when she played the open D string, she’d played way too light, and say don’t press it too hard oppose to playing the other strings. Never going to shop hear again.Update:I went to the NYC guitar center at 14th street and one of the technicians actually cared and looked at my guitar and was able to spot the issue and fix it. The bolt was a little loose and screwed it tight in. I’m still baffle that the guitar center in Brooklyn did not address the issue.

I don't know if this is just how guitar guys are, but literally every moment of my experience today was unpleasant and the employees were dismissive and rude.First I went to pick up my guitar -- Igor, the man behind the counter in the repair center, berated me because his co-worker had mistakenly undercharged me in the system for the price of restringing a classical guitar. I don't know why that was my fault as I had not paid yet, and had nothing to do with his coworker's mistake. When I told him the price I was quoted (thankfully the correct price), he just grunted at me.Then I went up to Peter, the sales associate, to ask about electric tuners and picks. When I asked him follow up questions about each, he did not have an explanation about why one product was better or worse than the other and implied that it didn't really matter because I am a beginner. As I was checking out, he was so busy chatting with his co-worker about his own guitars specs, that I could not ask him any follow up questions about the recommendations have gave me.Finally, as I was leaving, I nodded goodbye to one of the security guards and another comes out of the office and asks to see the receipt for my guitar. I tell him I just got it restrung but that I have receipts for the tuner and picks I just bought. I pull them out for him to stamp and ask him why they stopped me. He tells me that it's because people often try to steal guitars by putting them in cases so they need to know every guitar that goes in and out of the store. He thanks me for asking as I leave. I can't help but feel that I was targeted and harassed for no reason because they did not record or touch (as far as I know) my guitar when I dropped it off a few days ago, nor did either of the receipts I gave them have anything to do with the actual guitar I had. They were just giving me a hard time.Overall a very bad experience that left me feeling very discouraged and annoyed.

Me and my group of friends (one of them are 19) went to the store to check out a guitar for a friend. I and some of my friends got kicked out by some tall white guy of the store for being under 18 (there were literally kids running around in the store and its not like we are going to buy anything), being on our phones (other people were on their phones too), talking out loud and for us testing out a piano, he was pretty rude to us when we did nothing and told us to not come back, definitely not recommending other friends to come here, overall disappointed with the staff

Employee was rude and didn’t care much to engage in a meaningful conversation when it was clear I was seeking info. Based off of the other reviews seems to be an ongoing theme. Management needs to revaluate how there sales team engages with customers. Can’t sell if you don’t offer any value.

Poor Packaging Be Warned! I got my first Epiphone Les Paul online, but they don't have it in stock at the warehouse so I agree buying the display model in new condition at the Brooklyn branch. When it arrived the headstock was ripped apart and the strings are scattered due to shipping and handling of UPS. I understand they don't have the original packaging because its a display model but really? No bubble wrap? No paper to soften the impact of shipping? Nothing at all!I am very disappointed at Guitar Center as this is my very first experience doing business with them. Not only you lost me as a customer but a broken guitar due to your negligence. Thankfully, Nicole was super helpful in helping me get a refund.
