I ventured in last weekend and was shown a couple of bottles of rose to choose from. I decided to get the $28 bottle. Only a week later, I found out that I was charged $74! Won't be going back to this place...

Worst place to go for wine. All the staff are rude and obnoxious. They ask if you need any help, and if they’re asked about any of the wine or comparisons, they provide the most curt responses as if everyone should know what they’re drinking. Don’t ask if a customer needs any help if you’re not really willing to provide decent and respectful responses. As for the bottles- very limited selection and usually is cheaper elsewhere. Don’t waste your time, stay away from this place.

This place has a small but really good selection of wines. It used to be really charming and one always felt welcome It's been my go to wine store for years. I frequent almost every week. Could not rave more about it, but lately something has changed. They are rude and petty. Just last week I went in and bought 3 bottles of wine; spent $150. I could not carry all of them and asked if I could please have a bag. In the past that would not have been a problem, but now they will charge you $2 for a bag. I refused and managed with the bottles, all be it precariously.Today I went back, bought 2 more bottles; brought my own bag but I told the person at the counter that I thought it was really petty of them to charge for a bag when a costumer is spending over $100, He just looked at me and said: " It is what it is. The rules apply to all people." Yeah, Merry Christmas to you too.I guess the rules will not apply to me moving forward, as I will not do business with them anymore. I don't care how good their selection is; if they don't care about their costumers there are plenty of other liquor stores in the neighborhood that do.

Good selection of wine, although very limited - most likely due to space which is unfortunately paired with incredibly entitled and rude staff. One person in particular comes off as passive aggressive and not someone I feel good handing over $300 for a couple of bottles. Will go elsewhere except in a bind. -PS this review represents 5 people that live in the neighborhood with the same experience and sentiment.

I think many people end up at this wine shop after getting reservations at Lucali's since it's BYOB. That was exactly what I did as I grabbed two bottles of red wine. The employee was helpful with some recommendations as I was just looking for some cheap bottles around $15 and he did just that. It affordable and convenient.

Small shop with a large selection of off the beaten path wines and liquors. Knowledgeable staff, cool owners, and good tunes. If you're looking for something you can find "everywhere" they won't have it here, but they'll have something comparable, and better.

A great selection of Spanish wines, and they carry Spanish gin brands, which are amazing! Their suggestions were on spot. These guys know what they are talking about.

I've never felt more negged to buy wine here besides maybe at Scribe Winery in Napa. I came in asking for a drinkable orange wine and the guy told me in a snobby, condescending tone: "All our wines are drinkable. We don't sell poison here."-- Neg #1, check. Trying to shrug it off, I told him I wasn't a fan of the cotton mouth tannin taste of orange wine especially towards the bottom of a bottle. This was when he said Neg #2 in a dismissive tone: "that's a fundamental characteristic of orange wine so maybe if you don't like it switch back to white wine." So much of wine is about education but this crossed the line into negging and mansplaining. So orange wine is now exclusionary?! I was negged into buy this lighter orange wine and left fuming. If you're looking to get negged and mansplained by a white dude about wine here is the place. As a BIPOC woman I did not feel welcome here and will be taking my money to more friendly, open minded, and inclusive spaces.

The main big time guy at Henry Street Wine sold us a bottle of big time orange wine after we already picked out two other bottles of orange wine (we wanted three bottles of orange wine). The guy says the big time bottle will "punch us in the face, it's from Georgia." So I told the guy, I'm gonna call you to let you know how punched in the face I am. He says, "we close in seventeen minutes." I took his business card as if I'm not gonna call him tomorrow. What I want to say is it's 9:38pm we have opened this wine I am not punched in the face.
