“In a city spoiled by choice, I always assumed I would have to cycle through a few upholsterers before finding the one that really understood quality and timelines. I ended up in a tough spot after two different people failed to deliver and thankfully, a careful Google search landed me at Red Threads, which not only met my expectations, they exceeded them.
I'm a newbie to upholstery and interiors, so having craftspeople who are patient and willing to explain things made such a difference. There's always a certain level of blind faith you have to have working with someone new, but Leon and Yien immediately gave such a good vibe and I'm so glad I trusted it. They were friendly, communicative, and so easy to work with. Projects that I thought would overwhelm someone were handled with minimal drama and finished right on schedule.
The most impressive thing they created for me was a curtained off nook with a structured valance. My building is pre-war, so nothing is quite straight, and they even had to notch around a picture rail. Leon came mid-project with a template to test the fit which I really appreciated, and the final installation was truly flawless.
They also did roman shades, pillows, headboard, bed skirt, an armchair that they restained and refinished with perfect pattern matching, and a custom bench that turned out exquisite. They also fixed curtains and a chair that someone else had messed up. The quality is unmatched and you can feel the pride in their work. I don't think there's anything they can't do!
Designing a home is personal and a real labor of love. Finding craftspeople you trust and who respect that process, while also being reliable on the business and administrative side, feels incredibly rare. I only wish I had more projects for them because the experience was that good. If you want partners who care about their craft, communicate clearly, and truly deliver on their promises, work with Red Threads!”
