The staff at this location is truly the worst. Would not recommend. The staff, especially at checkout, is rude and offensive. Drive the extra 2 miles, and go to Lowe's.

I have noticed that cashiers have been replaced by automated registers, this saddens me. I understand this may be the new way of moving their customers faster, but I enjoy a person to person interaction. PLEASE bring back some of your cashiers. Everyone doesn't like to use the automated machines, including myself.

I don't understand how different Home Depot stores are depending on location. As I arrived with with Uber, driver would not drive through the hoards of men who literally attacked the car, looking for work. I told driver you are not going to drop me off alone outside are you? Uber said I am not driving through them. Yes that bad. Frightening I none the less was determined to get what I needed and now was on a hunt for a shopping cart. Again making my way through what must have been well over 50-75 men begging for work, found an employee to assist, still in the grungy parking lot. Once inside elevator was broken so there went the shopping cart. To say the help I received in the curtain dept was little to none is an understatement. Once you are sized up the employees decide if they want to work with you or not. I asked several times for help and told them I think I know what I want. I was offered access to the computer. Finally I received some basic forced help but custom shades are quite expensive and between not knowing product and not caring to invest the time, I left with paper temps for my windows. Back down to the intimidating parking lot, it's really bad I am not exaggerating. Once again called an UBER and put in notes please PULL IN, description of myself and hoped the driver would get me out of there. When driver #2 pulled up he was just as intimidated- the men jumped all over his car, I motioned for him he happily got me in and out of that mess. I asked him was it just me? He said uhh NO I am from NJ and was going to make a U turn, I was afraid they were going to jump my car. So to sum up my experience, if you are not intimated by all that, are ready to enter a store breathing saw wood and all kinds of construction cement, broken wiring etc in the air, this store is for you. If you are alone and looking for some home improvements, just be ready to be approached in the parking lot by a huge crowd of workers, I wasn't sure what their purpose was as no one spoke Eng and there is a homeless shelter nearby. Not against a hard days work but they need security inside and out or ppl are not going to walk from their car or in the parking lot. The store inside isn't what I would call well lit and friendly. Best seek other options.

He got us in and out in 30 min. Very pleasant experience! Ask for him in kitchen appliances! One of the best customer service experiences I've had in a while!

I would like to advise everyone not to go to this location. This is not the first time i had issues in this place but my todays adventure was that i have lost almost full hour just to get someone to help me get something off the top shelfs. Spoke with 4 employees none would help me bring it down physically saying that they cant leave their station. I had 3 of them call the guy that supposed to work that aisle and he never showed up. The first guy i spoke with completely blew me off saying that there is no more of the item i was looking for and I could clearly see them on shelf which i couldn't reach and I pointed it out to the guy and his response was silence and walked off. All i needed was a bathroom fan cover. I never had so many issued in one place. Oh and btw their parking lot is full of screws. You wont believe how many times i had to fix my tires. My foot is not stepping inside this store ever again.

Well in short. My experience at the 6158 was lets say not great. Apart from khan/sharon. Order # 172308..puchased the door along with other item's. The otems i purchased was not given to the sub contractor 1. 2. I qas told it was ok to leave these small items. Needless to say that was not the case. So the contractors appear 2 weeks later. Mussing the small items. I had to go back to get these small items for the door install.... back to the sub contractor/ stated he would return to install the storm door ..nada. name pre..persh number ending 5282.

I was in need of a specific outdoor garbage can and after a search on Home Depot's website, I landed at this location on a Tuesday afternoon. I see there are several complaints about the workers and the store itself on Yelp. I didn't do much talking nor needed explanations from workers because I went in for one item. So IDK how knowledgeable the workers are as I did my own research prior to my visit. I tend to do my own research because I do find that at Home Depot (and Lowe's. Yes, Lowe's is catching a stray), assistance is non-existent. However, on this day, all was well. I want to spotlight Lorenzo in the Nursery. He deployed adequate customer service by getting the garbage can from the pallet since there were none on the floor. I didn't catch the cashier's name but he, too, was friendly. Price matched my item and I was on my merry way. I did notice speeding in the parking lot, which I don't know why because it's thisbig.

If you know exactly what you need. Get in and get out as quickly as possible.,It is nothing like what you will experience in other Home Depot's across the US. This store needs a massive amount of help. Chaotic and no fault of the employees, but very few have knowledge of the there areas- most you can expect is a person to point you in the direction you might need to move to find a product. You are 100% on your own here. Home Depot executive team should be ashamed of this store. Send a crew out here to understand the unique demands of nyc and how you can adapt and build better systems, services and experiences. Two stars is generous. The only cool thing about this home depot is that it is a hub for unskilled workers in the parking lot looking for day labor. Home Depot should be supporting immigration issues since the construction industry in nyc boroughs is mostly comprised of this group.

Everyone who seems to work there, apparently hates working there. The cashiers are always ready to get off work. So much so they talk about it amongst themselves in front of customers who have been waiting an inordinate amount of time to be attended because there is a lack of cashiers. And the self checkout doesn't work.So it's pretty much hell for everyone involved. But since they have to work and the surrounding community has needs. We are stuck with each other if we can't get out of that hell of a Home Depot.

Ordered some plants from Home Depot since my usual florist closed down! I've never had plants shipped to my apartment before, but I ordered three small plants and they all made it here in great shape. They came in boxes with handles for easy carrying, and the plants were packed in tightly. The only issue was that some of the soil spilled onto the floor when I was unpacking them; be sure to put newspaper or some kind of tarp down before opening.

I had a great service experience on every level from multiple employees this evening (btn 430-530) and wanted to let people know. -The customer service rep Natasha at returns was extremely helpful, efficient and friendly with my sink return. -Then a very pleasant gentleman proactively asked if there was anything he could help me with while I was walking up the stairs, and explained what depts were up there. -Another employee in the drill bit dept showed me two different options for a drill attachment for making holes in drywall and explained why the one I was looking at wasn't ideal. -Finally, at self checkout, Ayana kindly indicated I needed to use the gun thingy to read the barcode when she noticed me staring blankly at the self check out station ;). Then she checked the price of some lightbulbs for me that turned out to be over my budget, and she quickly adjusted it by cancelling them out for me. Thank you everyone, what a great staff at making my visit very pleasant, smooth and easy.

Called looking to find shower valve trim kit that would fit a shower valve with a square socket. Seems like a simple question. Rude employee kept misunderstanding, thinking I was talking about the shower door handle. Finally she said I would just have to come in and see for myself.

Verbally assaulted by an employee, Fred. This is one of the worst customer experiences of my life and quite honestly my husband and I felt extremely discriminated against as a gay couple and my husband, because of his thick South American accent. My husband, very nicely approached Fred - the associate working the department to find a specific tool bag that was shown to be at this store. Fred rudely says "What? All your showing me is a bag full if tools" , he then my husband politely explains and Fred says "Aisle 19", my husband asked him to please show him where and he then proceeds to yell at us "Just because I am wearing the orange apron doesn't mean I know where everything is in the store. I am on my way to the bathroom!" . Is this acceptable customer service , Home Depot? Discriminating against customers with foreign accents and gay couples. I do plan to call the home office persistently to ensure Fred's abhorrent behavior is dealt with.
