We were surprised to find ample parking at the Brooklyn IKEA on a Saturday, a real contrast to the other IKEAs we have visited in other cities. As soon as we entered the building, though, we saw the escalators were broken and that pretty much set the tone. Things were broken all over the store. When we finally found our way to check out, one of our items required we wait for it at pick up. We then waited for OVER AN HOUR to get the one item.

We waited two hours for our online order to be delivered, which they collected and informed us in advance... Sucks...

As a fan of Ikea products, it is unfortunate that I had such a disastrous experience with my shopping trip in October which still has not been resolved. Ikea Brooklyn made one attempt to email and call me, and then seemingly ignore every other (maybe 15?) attempt I made at reaching out. The issue, rather straightforward: I bought a sofa and was not provided one of the pieces of the set. A path to resolution would likely take 2 minutes or less, but I can't even get someone on the phone. And so I still have a empty space in my living room where a couch should be.

I got shafted at the store by 1 of the 4 pieces of my sofa purchase missing. Human mistake and understandable, and what should have been a pretty straightforward issue to rectify. However, the total lack of effort for Brooklyn Ikea to reach out to me has been really frustrating. Why, I have no idea. But I received one missed call and one email mid November, and nothing since, despite repeated attempts at following up with them.

Ideally I’d give this place a 5-Star rating, yet the only problem is the restaurant. The food is great, I’d highly recommend the Swedish Meatballs, a traditional Swedish dish. (The Chicken Tenders are good too.) If you have IKEA Family, you get 1 free coffee or tea every time you visit. IKEA Family is free, by the way. Generally it’s a great store, and you also get free IKEA Ferry access through the NY Waterway on weekends. On weekends the store is the busiest, especially on Saturdays. Come on the weekdays and the restaurant will still have lots of food to supply you with. Also, if you are shopping here on the weekends, especially on a Saturday and want to eat something, I’d recommend coming there at about 11-11:30 AM if you want to get lunch, because anytime after that will get very crowded and very busy, and the lines can get very busy and long. Also, when I was here today, the cashier said they accept Apple Pay, yet they don’t. This also applies for the main checkout at the exit. The register is often broken and can cause the line to get even more crowded and delayed. In terms of the products, I’d generally recommend this store.

The service desk at this location is the least friendly and least helpful of all IKEA locations. I went to purchase a replacement part that I broke reassembling a 4 year old IKEA item after a move. The IKEA employee cut me off to tell me to leave unless I had a recent receipt. Good thing I waited an hour to be told off in 30 seconds.

Kind of pointless to spend over an hour looking for the right piece of furniture in the showroom to them not having anything downstairs. Seriously. No dressers in stock at all. Waste of time.

It's a great store with great prices and the restaurant plus the bistro downstairs for quick bites are so good. The as is section is always full of discounted items that have been returned usually without any defects on them or slight defects. The only problem the only way to order the food downstairs is through the screens set up in front and sometimes don't work. I recommend getting the rewards card. You can order online now even from the as is section and pick up the stuff if you don't have time to browse in the store. The store has improved since the last few times I was there. The plants there are safe bet too. Overall is a pleasant place to be in and everything is on your own self serve and do it yourself even the employee are there only if you really need their help. There also free ferry service from Manhattan on weekends while seeing great views of Manhattan too and Erin Mill Basin Park by the river next to IKEA is nice place to walk, admire the scenery and to take a break. The two buses leave on the door but no Subway. The G will leave very close just a short walk from the store.

My shopping experience was great, my grandkids enjoyed the ideas for the kids rooms. We also enjoyed the dining area. We use the IKEA Ferry to get there, nice! The sales associates, were kind and helpful. Sorry no photos
