I wish I could give them zero stars. Robert is rude, impatient and is practically begging potential customers to go elsewhere. Stop letting this man speak to customers because it's clear he's miserable and doesn't care to give even the slightest amount of decency to people.

Overpriced. Convenient. Friendly staff

Dirty, overpriced, and the staff is the worst of any grocery store I've ever been to. They are unhelpful, and even aggressive and mean. They clearly don't want to be at this store, and neither do I.

My wife and I have been spending $200-$250 a week at Key Food for years, but I'm done. I've been complaining week after week abut the same 3-4 employees not wearing masks, or not wearing them over their noses (on one occasion, one of them heard me complaining to management about him and laughed derisively), and nothing changes. I just walked in to shop and turned around and left when I saw the same staffers with their masks off their noses. It's bad enough when it's other customers (and the store needs to try harder to enforce the rules on them as well), but when the store's own employees refuse to follow public health guidelines? It's not worth the risk. I've been avoiding ordering from Amazon/Whole Foods for all the obvious reasons, but I'm done with the local supermarkets.

It looks like The Key Food in Brooklyn Heights did a great job and continues to do a great job to protect both employees and customers during Covid.

As the pandemic is in full affect we need to have more efficient people in there. as I stopped in today to pick up a couple of items I know social distance is a must but there was a manager standing there a Jamaican lady and I had a couple of items and I was to punch items and she refused to help me I was stunned because of the attitude we are all in this together. And then after had a couple of comments to say afterwards I really believe she really doesn’t belong there she’s no better than one of us and me as a person of color that’s been in the neighborhood 30+ years owns my apartment and I am a caregiver I felt some type of way so if you don’t like your job you should do something else.

I don’t speak for them all, but many of the staff here have downright terrible attitudes. The manager with a Caribbean accent is particularly dreadful; I feel like she’s going to assault me every time I encounter her. On another occasion I heard a male employee castigate another with really foul language loudly in the store. Again, I have seen several employees here who act professionally, but it’s the exception rather than the rule.

This store does not even have circular sales anymore-a real shame with the pandemic crisis going on. Their prices are ridiculously high. I would suggest walking a few blocks over to the much better Key Food on Atlantic Avenue as they have the full circular sales. This Key Food on Montague Street is typically Brooklyn Heights snobbish. They do not even carry their own Urban Meadow brand of products. They should not even be allowed to call themselves Key Food. I would avoid this store. They do not care about serving the public as other decent supermarkets do.

There's a grumpy bigoted longtime worker, avoidable of course, but why have to deal with that. My family and friends can go elsewhere close by for the basics we buy there.

This store is horrible! Do not support! http://brooklynheightsblog.com/archives/90246

I’ll go out of my way to avoid Gristedes just to go to Key foods. This store has a simple layout, friendly and helpful staff, and great products. My only gripe is that everything is a bit pricey.

The store does not stock many items you would expect as the other Key Food supermarkets do. They barely even stock their own labels. The neighborhood badly needs a decent supermarket. The Key Food on Atlantic Avenue is much better with more of a selection of products and not so Brooklyn Heights snobbish.

Way more expensive than the Key food on Atlantic about 3 blocks away.. you definitely pay the BK Heights premium. Staff is pretty much always grumpy, sometimes it feels like you are impositioning them to do their jobs, must be management's attitude flowing down. Walk to Atlantic staff is friendly helpful polite and you'll save 20-30%

This Key Food Is Hidden on Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights!! It's a Small Supermarket with a Decent Selection of American Fare. I Love the Deli an The "Voice" who goes out of His way to Make your Food Just the Way U want!!

The place is clean, well stocked, and the workers are pleasant! I always visit this particular key food store, when in the area.

I haven't been in this Key Food in ages. I don't like the way the managers treat the staff and I really don't like the way they treat me. I needed something real quick so against my better judgment I went in there. Big mistake!! Some things never change. The manager was rude to me and made believe he didn't hear my simple request. When I went to pay for my item at the cash register he inserted another client in the middle of my order so of course my order came out wrong (as did hers). I said perhaps if you let one person finish the transaction at a time there wouldn't be mistakes. Then the two managers ganged up on me, telling me that it was MY mistake. Partially correct, it was my mistake for going in there! I shall not return!!

One of the best delis in the upper East side. Stay away from the breads. Don't go at rush hour.

Great nitro coffee selection. (Bonus: pretty solid craft beer singles as well)

Good prices on meat but produce is always pretty expensive.

This one in Brooklyn Heights is a lot nicer than what I have found in the Bronx. Entenmann's. Say no more.

There is something very rotten going on at this Key Food. They raised their prices and give no service WHATSOEVER to customers. And customers are leaving right, left and center. The only thing that makes any sense is that they are preparing to sell it. Do they own the building and are selling it to real estate developers like the library and everything else in Brooklyn Heights? But then why raise the prices OUTRAGEOUSLY. Maybe the want to show on the record how upscale they are so they can sell the franchise for higher than what it would assess to normally. Whatever's going on they don't give one iota about customers. They must be on the hunt for larger game than what their customers bring in. It's just crazy! I'm going to research with the Heights Association and local politicians. If we ordinary people lose our place to shop that's not an overpriced gourmet store, I don't know what I'll do. Trader Joe's is too far away for my old legs!

I've been shopping here for many years and always found the cashiers to be really good-and the store fairly well-run. However, now it's gone downhill i.e. prices are much higher, produce department is poor ( and the sale prices are often not shown) plus there are only 2 cashiers all the times I've shopped there. Also one of the 2 cashiers often refuses to honor the sale prices of items shown in the Key Montague flyer! She'll insist that the flyer price is a mistake, and therefore overcharge you on that item ( a "bait & switch " tactic ,if there ever was one! The other day a pint container of cherry tomatoes was $4.99 at this Key Store ( same item at Trader Joe's was $1.39!

Went to checkout and cashier came up to me and asked me to buy her ice cream since it was 2 for 5 and I only got one. I was like what lol

Extremely rude older Caribbean woman who works here. She yells across the supermarket at customers in an entitled and rude manner. Employees here need some training in manners and professionalism. This is a nice area which is why this key food has pricier produce than most, having some random employee treat customers like they're second citizens in her own home is degrading and not worth the prices.
June 2019 by Dede Santino
Cashiers are extremely rude and management seems to not care unfortunately for me I just left and went somewhere else. I also saw a little critter running in one of the isles which made me not want to continue shopping.

Worst experience ever! Over priced foods! Other key foods in the area are less expensive and more affordable! There’s a very weird smell when entering! And the already prepared foods had mold on them! Disgusting
June 2019 by Laura Lee
Way too expensive! Do you think the neighborhood is rich? And customer service at the lowest quality.
