Great store!

Terrible prices. Paid $7 for low quality sliced turkey that was covered in a gross slime. Small pieces of medium quality cheese are like $16.

Location is convenient and they have a decent selection… but having a hard time justifying the prices at this point. I understand inflation and what not but the markup on some items is just insane. Also, 20 cents for a small paper bag with no handle. Other stores charge you 5 cents, and how are you supposed to carry these?

AlwYxind what I need at a good part. Their produce quality is uniformly high.

Key Food has its issues but it is by far the best shopping option in central Brooklyn Heights. The fresh food at Gristedes is absolutely horrendous and their prices on everyday items are much higher than at Key Food. Yes, the new checkout system where you're supposed to know to wait on a certain aisle, needs some re-thinking. They've hired some young checkout staff lately who are very good. One in particular has become my favorite.

food - overpriced considering tj's not far away. can't you hire a butcher ? whoever cuts cuts meat is clueless.always an attitude - managers included , smug attitude towards customers, always something wrung up wrong , in their favor. and the third degree and grand jury trial to get it corrected. they try to be tj's but don't quite have the stuff it takes . sad this is going on thirty years and no change

Good selection of food. No counter style butcher or fish. Best neighbhood grocery in the area. York style prices and service.

In early 2020, global health, public health and national emergencies were declared.Health workers and mandated workers, (grocery stores and liquor stores, etc.) risked THEIR lives providing essential services.Key Food on Montague Street has been delivering those essential services. It is a good store, centrally located, prices are fair and it is well stocked; most of the employees are terrific! Because of rampant shoplifting, the manager was forced to use one exit and entry door. On March 6, 2023, the manager tried to stop a shoplifter and he was threatened with a knife, he gave chase, the criminal escaped, however, thankfully Mr. Arguello was physically unharmed. Lawlessness is not the way we should be thanking our essential workers!

I do not buy produce here, ever. It is always at such a high price for low quality. For example, Romaine lettuce has been stripped of most of its outer leaves (probably because it was old and wilted) and it costs 4.99$. A few blocks away at a Korean market the romaine will be fresher and 1.99$. Key Food (as well as Gristedes nearby) are terrible choices for your shopping if you care about prices and quality. Don't get me started on the meat section. Suffice to say, please be mindful of the dates on the meat. For the good: the place is clean, well organized, and they have a wide variety of sundries. The staff is helpful and the checkout is quick.

Prices are crazy. Been using for 15years but I am taking it to zero. $9.69 for cream cheese. Go to trader Joe. It is about 1/3 the price on most items. Shame as the Covid premium time is no longer.

It exists. It’s there. On Montague street. That’s literally the selling point of this grocery store. Enjoy.

Over priced. You can get at Net Cost or the Arab market cheaper.

It's the closest Key Food to my house and it's fine, but I usually walk the extra block to the one on Atlantic. Better selection and checkout.
