Unfortunately after yet another salty staff experience & I will no longer be buying from this establishment. Its giving:
non-working class & non-inclusive. The service is consistently snobby, cold, unhelpful, pretentious & bothered staff interactions when simply asking about certain wines or liquor on the shelves (or just paying cash as I do since I am a service industry person). **There is an older gentleman with glasses who clearly shouldn’t be working in customer service much less with people in the neighborhood looking to purchase wine regularly. The vibe is no basic human eye contact, no acknowledgment, no thank you, no respect. Having lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years I hadnt shopped here until last year wanting to give it a try. I have tried to give this shop chances hoping it was a random few rude encounters but sadly it is a consistent pattern of not being welcome. I will continue to support others shops in the neighborhood that actually know how to treat people.

Wooden shelves, floors, and wine floor to ceiling. What more do you need? ….maybe some mahogany chairs and a bar

They should not have a customer loyalty rewards program if they are going to use it to trick people into being loyal customers, then not reward them! While getting my 5th stamp of 12 on my loyalty card, I was informed by the cashier that in July these cards will be void when they move to a digital system, so I should plan to buy 7 bottles in the next month if I want to get my $20 credit. The whole point of a customer loyalty program is, you reward the customer for loyalty!!! After my first purchase here, I had been making a point of shopping here because of the card. Now I feel I've been tricked. If this place cared about customers AT ALL, they would find a way to grandfather in people who had physical cards.

Really solid wine shop. And the staff is approachable and they seem to want to help you find the wine you’re looking for. They also let you be if you just want to browse on your own though. Overall, a great shop.

Price mark up is disgusting. The Remelluri rioja is priced at $60 instead of $40 at online retailers. Shameful

Wouldn’t stamp my rewards punch card because I had placed an online order. Bought an almost 80$ bottle so was kind of disappointed when they wouldn’t stamp my rewards card because it was placed online and not bought in stores. Kind of a shame because I really liked the store the workers were really nice and they have a very good selection of wines and liquors

Walking into Leon and Son for their wine tasting event felt like entering a cozy haven of warmth and hospitality. The initial encounter with Emma and Sean at the register upon arrival set the tone for a genuinely friendly atmosphere. The wine tasting, skillfully hosted by Ben from Jose Pastor Selections, was a true highlight. Ben's approachable demeanor made it easy for me to approach him with questions, and his depth of knowledge about the wines on offer was genuinely impressive. The selection of Spanish wines, spanning both whites and reds, was diverse and captivating. Among them, the Albahra red stood out for its well-structured character, becoming a personal favorite. Exploring the store was a journey in itself, with wines thoughtfully arranged by region and a Champagne section that truly stood out. The wealth of choices available is a testament to the store's dedication to catering to diverse tastes. Venturing into the backroom, I was met by a warm group of ladies, including the affable Jess. Their genuine willingness to engage, answer questions, and provide insights into the wines and their arrangement was truly commendable. Overall, my experience at Leon and Son was marked by a genuine sense of hospitality and comfort. Every interaction, from the initial greetings to the insightful conversations with Ben and the informative exchange with Jess, contributed to a satisfying and enriching visit. Without hesitation, I would recommend Leon and Son to anyone seeking a true wine aficionado's haven. The blend of welcoming staff, diverse wine selection, and the chance to engage with experts makes this a must-visit destination. I left feeling welcomed, at ease, and excited to return for future visits.
