A friend was going in for a bang trim, and I decided to tag along. Called to confirm availability and they happily accommodated me at the same time as her. Super friendly, professional service. The trim was quick, very affordable and I loved the results. Will be going back!

Had an appointment for two haircuts yesterday morning. These appointments were made two weeks in advanced and were confirmed.
I usually go to agatha so ever since my sister and mom have gone to her as well, several times now. We come all the way from queens close to JFK.
But yesterday she seemed to be in a rush. My sister’s hair was not cut evenly. The back had a longer piece in the middle hanging out. The layers were not proportional at all. Her right side layers were all choppy and her left side were ok but not as noticeable.
This isn’t the first time she has cut my sister’s hair and she has done a good job previous times. I don’t know what happened.
For my mom she didn’t even want to wash her hair. She wet it with a spray bottle and got to work. I haven’t had time to check if it’s cut evenly but I will do that tonight after work.
I’m sorry but I don’t think it’s worth $45 anymore. It’s a good price but for a not so good job no thank you.
Also let me mention the last time I cut my hair I had to go back because I wasn’t happy with the cut. My hair just looked so much more puffy. So we had to do some adjustments and do thin sheer cutting to lessen the bulky look.
I don feel like I should have been charged $25 which I was told was the price for just blow dry but when I’ve done cut and blow before I’ve paid $60 even. So I was overcharged for coming back to fix a haircut .

My friend recommended Maria's and I am so grateful she did. I got wonderful highlights, a great cut and Maria is such a kind, thoughtful person. I really enjoyed the appointment and am so happy with how my hair turned out.

I meant to make this sooner but I was being a hard working girl. A friend from school had referred me to Maria’s because I was complaining how many salons don’t know how to mess with textured hair the right way and always use of the worst things. Getting the hairstyle I had gotten in the pictures for prom was my second time going to Maria’s. I absolutely loved it and even my first time going they were very sweet and made me feel comfortable. Always offer drinks and are very welcoming. I had ordered 2 sets of extensions off of Amazon (100% pure protein silk) and asked if they could be added into my hair and trimmed due to some extra color on the bottom of them. My hair came out absolutely beautiful and it stayed in place all night. I left feeling beautiful and like a princess and got so many compliments on the style. The most that was wrong with my hair was some knotting due to the teasing and hair spray to keep the clip ins in place but nothing a little conditioner can’t help lol. My natural hair stayed healthy and untouched other then light styling. I will definitely be going back for every service I may need for my hair (I added a pic of my natural hair to show the blending of the extensions and my hair and how well it worked out)

I’ve been going to Maria’s hair salon since I was a little girl and I decided to finally get full highlights for my graduation. The staff are all super nice and friendly and the prices are extremely reasonable compared to the other ones in the city. For a small, local salon, you just can’t beat the quality. I highly recommend this place!

I want to start by saying that Maria’s does good hair at an affordable price, and I’ve appreciated that. However, their unreliability and poor customer service means that I would never return and felt the need to warn others who also value their time.
Twice in one year, they’ve completely mishandled my appointments, wasting a total of over two hours of my time with no accountability or effort to make the situation less frustrating. Most recently, I showed up for an appointment only to be told my stylist was out sick—however no one contacted me because they had the wrong number on file. I sympathize for the stylist, not the complete and utter lack of organization. Once again, I’ll be going into important events without my hair done.
On another occasion, they had me scheduled for a haircut when I had booked a full highlight. They didn’t have time to fix the mistake and sent me away without any effort to accommodate or make it right.
What’s most disappointing is the complete lack of effort to retain a loyal customer. When I asked if they could offer a small discount for the repeated inconvenience, I was told no—it wasn’t their fault, things happen.
Mistakes happen, but how a business responds is what matters. It’s 2025—having a reliable booking system and basic customer care is the bare minimum. Customers’ time matters, and business owners should act like it. It’s incredibly cheap these days to have a basic laptop and booking software, no excuses.
The quality and pricing are solid, but after two major issues and no attempt to make things right, I won’t be going back—and I think others should be aware before booking.

I am not entirely satisfied with my experience at this salon. The people working here are welcoming and nice. However, I was unable to catch the name of the lady who cut my hair.
When it came to the haircut, there were pros and cons.
Pros: I like how my bangs were trimmed and that she did them based on my natural part, not a middle part.
Cons: My layers were not cut as desired. They came out choppy and seemed uneven, as seen in the picture on the left. She barely cut my hair to make layers and it turned out nothing like the inspiration picture. Additionally, the woman who cut my hair seemed distracted, which may have impacted the way she cut my hair.
I will probably not return.

My hair was cut dry, as shown in the picture on the right. Initially, I liked it, but when I returned home and asked someone to take a picture, I noticed how uneven it was. The haircut was done in just 15 minutes. My hair was 28 inches long before the cut, and should have been treated with more care.
Unfortunately, I don’t know the stylists name.

Called in the morning for an appointment that afternoon. Haircut was great! I only wanted an inch and a half off. So often hairdressers cut off more than you want but today my hairdresser did exactly as I asked. Easy and friendly experience- also super affordable. I paid $40 plus tip for my cut and blow dry. High recommend! FYI they prefer cash.

While cutting my hair. Completely ignored what I asked for. Didn’t have my glasses on till the end. I wanted to cry. I never complained just left. There was no way to fix this this mess.

Maria outdid herself once again with my long hair and did an amazing balayage. Couldn’t wish for more perfect job! Maria always listens to my needs and works quick. I have long hair and am pretty picky with the colours. I never leave Maria’s disappointed. Strongly recommend!

Awful experience getting a men's haircut. Hairstylist was rude, didn't listen, the entire experience felt rushed, and I left with a haircut I did not ask for and did not want and was entirely too short. Do not recommend.
I do not know the stylists name because he never told me, and never asked for mine.
I am sure some of the other women who work here are lovely. One of them smiled at me as I walked in, and it was the only and last time I felt comfortable during my experience.
