Fantastic museum full of great detail, fun facts, and a hands on experience with the subway carts through the years (and some buses).A must visit for tourists and New Yorkers! The staff are super friendly and it’s just $10 entry per person. Waited about 7 mins to buy entry tickets so I recommend buying online. Also caution - there are two flights of stairs going down into the museum. I did not see an elevator so look into that and plan accordingly if that’s a necessity.

It's actually a really interesting museum. Most museums show history in a way that's boring but okay but this one has a comparison between modern times and old times with interactive cars and cabs. The place is large and has an upstairs (first floor) and downstairs but when I went, half the stairs were emergency exit stairs. They also have a walk through hallway that loops around. The merch shop is obviously expensive but some things are relatively cheap like shirts. I got a all trains shirt and a mug.

Went today for the first time with my husband and 2 children. Will never be returning, this is not a good place for children and I would not recommend it for anyone with children. The staff was unfriendly and it got to a point where my three year old was crying and wanted to leave due to the staff’s cold nature. Also didn’t appreciate the staff talking to my child while she was standing between her mother and father, unprofessional and out of line.

If you come to NY, the New York Transit Museum is a place to not be missed, the history it self comes to life in every corner, so include it in your to do list. But also please join me in spreading hope and help for the missing 16-year-old female, Dazaiya Pettus-Felder, who was last seen near New York Transit Museum on December 9. She may be walking around the museum or in someone's car. Let's come together and use our resources to find her. Visit the Amigos for Kids website to share any information that could lead to her safe return. Together, we can make a difference. I believe that Dazaiya is waiting to be found and with your help, she will be.

Fascinating museum. Very cool to see all the incredibly photography, particularly of the subway lines, and to understand the history and of new York transit. Make sure you also go downstairs to see the train cars. Highly recommend coming on a weekday if you don't have children, as the place is filled with them on weekends and the acoustics of the museum make it quite loud. That said, we still enjoyed ourselves so don't avoid if a weekend is your only option.

Great museum for train and bus believers :) set in an old subway station in Brooklyn, it is also great for a family day out - interactive and accessible for all ages.

The museum is underground and part of an actual subway, they have out of commission train cars from a hundred years ago that you can walk through and sit in. Many many different models. Lots of interactive exhibits you can walk through, touch, and sit in. Lots of information on the walls for those who are curious. There were many families with young children here, seems to be a great experience for little kids. They have lots of places for parking your stroller.

The New York Transit Museum offers a captivating journey through the city's transportation history. Housed in a decommissioned subway station, the museum beautifully preserves the evolution of New York's transit system. Exhibits showcase vintage subway cars, buses, and fascinating artifacts, providing a nostalgic glimpse into the past. Engaging displays and interactive features make it an educational experience for visitors of all ages. The museum's commitment to preserving and celebrating the legacy of urban transportation in New York City makes it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists.
