Very warm assistance in buying delightful rose flavor cream baklava and a bag of Middle Eastern spiced pita chips for dipping. The best assistance was always at these Middle Eastern shops on Atlantic Ave.

Absolutely delicious baklava! He gave me a free one for no other reason than seemingly the kindness of his heart. Lovely experience.

A nostalgic step back in time... Small shop packed with exotic delights ranging from rare spices, teas, herbs and even dried rosebuds (yes!) to delectable middle eastern desserts baked on the premises. The best part of this store however is the sweet owner who greets customers by name and locates various items effortlessly from the maze of products with his near photographic memory.

The man that owns this store is such a sweetheart. He helped me find all the Haft-sin items for Nowruz last year. I always get my Alghazaleen tea and they have good Casablanca tuna in olive oil. There are so many great imports and a couple cute kittens hanging out here. Always a great experience.

Great herbs, grains and spices, pastries. One of a kind grocery. You can find items from all over the world here. The owner has been there for over 30 years, and still provides the same home-like traditional service with all customers. I especially like the medium French roast coffee beans imported from Africa.

Very friendly owner who was so kind and gave many samples. The issue is this place is PACKED with....food and just THINGS. The energy is cluttered and it isn't very clean.

Your typical Middle Eastern shop. Love Ghayyas. You can find almost anything there. It's the OG of Atlantic Avenue

A few years ago, I wandered into this jewel of a store, intriguing to me with all its Middle Eastern products and aromas. I heard the baklava was good. It's not just good, it's absolutely the best baklava I've had, ever. Certainly it's the best in New York City. The owner is very warm and welcoming and has kindly introduced various pastries that he's made here with his family recipes for about 50 years or so. Lately I've branched out to buy his olives, dried apricots, and other products. I'm not sure why I waited, all that he sells is a notch, or more, above other stores here or Manhattan.

A few years ago I walked into this jewel of a store for the first time. It was like immediately stepping into another, older world full of Middle Eastern delicacies. I had heard the baklava was good. It's more than good, it's the best baklava I've had, ever. Certainly the best in New York City. The owner is warm and welcoming and often introduces pastries he's made from his family recipes here for about 50 years. Recently I've started trying his other items, like dried apricots, olives, walnuts. I don't know why I waited. All of his items are a notch, or more, above the rest, both here on Atlantic Avenue and in Manhattan.

Amazing Arabic delicacies! And the level of hospitality is unparalleled- you feel like you are visiting family or friends, not a store.

I think another person's review fits some of my thoughts: Terrific selection of spices and goods but "On the other hand, it seems to have been decorated by a hoarder." Very tiny spot with a friendly cat with not so good desserts. The ma'moul was dry and the baklava and bird's nest was somehow dry even though there was a lot of honey on it. The kunafeh was also just wasn't good either . Oddly the Turkish delight was quite tasty and fresh but I am unsure if it was homemade as it was just that much better. The inside of the ashta dessert wasn't dry (as it was well cream) but the filo wasn't good either. I've had their desserts several times and I've had this issue way too many times that it doesn't seem like a rare occurrence. Sure the prices are lower than Sahadi's but there's other better choices on the block for pastries (namely Damascus or Karkanni.) 3 for the spice/nut selection.
