Very bad costumer service. They wont to do anything out of their way to help a client. They’ll smile and make notes portending that they will work on the issue but they really don’t do anything.I bank with several banks and never did I witnessed such a horrible service

Miss the kind service in PR Banco Popular. It is not the same here, or maybe it is this particular branch. Visited this location this morning, with my elderly parents, we were their first customers of the day, waited in the cold outside for them to unlock their doors - only to be tended second. They decided to assist someone who came in after us. This was my first time at this location, I am disappointed. My parents have been coming to this location regularly because it is the more convenient location to get to for them, and because they do have one worker there who speaks their language. But this morning, that person was not there. I find this location not elderly friendly - especially when they struggle with a language barrier. It is daunting for elderly who do not speak English to come in for their banking needs. I understand it is no one's fault, which is why I was there to assist with translating for both, my parents and for YOUR representatives. Trying to make our lives easier. But we were rushed by the representative, because they had another client who has an “appointment “ with her. First of all, we came in first but tended second, you took long to service us because your machines are running slow and your many phone calls took forever to finish up the transaction - none of those we had control over as customers. Your representative up and decided time was up. We had legitimate questions regarding policies about the account we were discussing, but rushing us to make a decision knowing I have to translate back and forth? You have no patience and do not understand your costumers needs. It was such a stressful morning. A customer should not be treated like they are unwelcomed and made to feel like we have caused YOU inconveniences - are workers there to hang out or work/service customers? And let other customers skip the queue? Who does that? As a bank that I have used over 15 years in PR, this is very uncharacteristic of Banco Popular customer service/professional mannerisms. It is also not a well organized place here (there are no way for you to know where to queue up, or who to go to for help) they rely on their security guard to identify where the customer should be queueing up at; machines were running slow; which also contributed to the longest bank visit of my life. Everyone there looked like they did not want to be there, the rely on ONE employee to run the whole bank! A cheque printer got jammed and they had to call the ONLY rep that was assisting customers to fix said jammed cheque printer - it is ridiculous! My advise is hire more competent workers who are willing to work and know professional etiquette, and respect customers regardless of race, gender, social standing. My recommendation for customers: try other locations or another bank - I know I will not be using their services soon.

This bank does nothing for this community. Horrible service. Terrible products. It is suppose to be a bank for the community and it forgot where it came from. The staff does not care and management thinks they are better than the client. It does nothing to support the people of Sunset Park. As a small business owner, I have to go to Chase or Citi. Even Capital One cares more about the community. I cannot bank at Popular. I do not recommend it unless you want to be stressed and treated like you are nobody. My brother sat there for hours to be tended to and the staff looked so stressed and annoyed. They couldn't help. They have nothing to offer the real community business.

I wish I could give a cero * bexaus3 Since the pandemic I was trying to open an account so I could transfer $ for someone in PR and it could of help me with my banking here but what a horrible experience that I rather not share because it would take a whole page to write, try 3 times to open an account online and never was able for different reasons wich I never was a decent one but I ended up giving up and I even wrote an email and never got a response, it's just a first of a horrible bank expererience and felt bad because I couldn't make the transaction been that was someone that cannot go to the branch in PR all the time because of health issues. What a waste of time

I was waiting on the line with the teller for about 25 minutes mind you I have to go to work in an hour once I got up to the line the lady told me she couldn’t help me and that I would have to go speak to one of the representatives and write my name down mind you there was already a packed house waiting to speak to representative. I think this is very unprofessional when I asked her why she couldn’t help me she said because there was a line and she was busy. I I was her next person in line so I should’ve been her priority . I was stunned I’m very disappointed I never had issues before with this thing but now I feel like changing completely
