Not sure what's changed recently. First it started with menu changes. The donuts got somewhat smaller. All fine till now. Last couple of order I made for favorites I've had several times, the quality has dropped. It made me really sad because I absolutely love the food here.

Got the avocado sandwich to go, seemed a bit small at first sight, but it was very tasty and filling. The people working there were

Waiting time was horrendous. 25 minutes to make a sandwich even though there was only one person who ordered ahead of me and there are about 5 staff people working (moving around in a very ambient way, chatting) Do not come here if in a rush- half an hour sandwich break can stretch into an hour experience. I was so hoping to sit down and enjoy my lunch, but had to take my sandwich to go unfortunately

This review is strictly regarding baguette pricing. $7 ?!?!??? The price just went from $5 to $6 a few months ago, and that was ridiculous. It’s giving Lucille Bluth not knowing the price of a banana. I’m over it.

Stopped in to R&D goods first and then saw this place next door - tried the ham and cheese and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!! Crusty and soft bread with loads of prosciutto cotto, good white cheddar and the absolute cherry on top is the pickled peppers ?? will be back for more

I live around the corner so go here a lot. The food is great but I think it's the victim of its own success. The last couple times, I've waited a looooong time. Today, for instance, I ordered a sandwich that took just under 25 minutes to come out from the kitchen. (The guy before me ordered two and was waiting about 20 minutes.) 25 minutes for a sandwich is not ok.At the front of the house, the staff are chatty with each other and seem happy, which is nice to see-- except that they seem completely oblivious that customers have been waiting politely for ages. When I said, look, I don't want to be a jerk, but fyi I've been waiting 25 minutes, the guy who handed me the sandwich-- who had been mocking the restaurant's "discerning clientele" to one of the other staff moments before-- gave me a half-hearted "sorry" before doing a quick 180 so that he didn't have to continue the conversation. Particularly at their very high prices, that's again not ok.

The food is good! However the options are weird and not friendly for single person or quick lunch. If you have lots of time and multiple people - solid AF. Otherwise you’re gonna struggle to get what you want.

I really wanted to like this place because the menu looks good and months ago I was given a free baguette at the end of the day by a little girl, whom I presumed to be the daughter of the owner. What a great way to reach out to your community and to fight food waste, I thought! (Plus the baguette was fantastic, which makes sense because I think it's sourced by Pain d'Avignon). So, one extra star for that Anyway, we came in today to try the coffee and a breakfast sandwich, and everything was a bit disappointing. The drip coffee was bitter and it seems that the coffeemaker is simply not cleaned frequently enough. The sandwich was fine but tiny and overpriced. It took a long time to make despite there being only a couple of customers and quite a few employees. Although the packaging is nice and pretty, I could really have skipped the FOUR stickers and labels that my guy affixed to the wrapping, which took forever. The cappuccino was pretty good. Pastries look yummy but I'm not sure if I'll return :(

First time and I got the kale salad sandwich. Disappointing. It was a heavy, sloppy mess of a sandwich that left the bread soggy. They should also tell you that it’s served warm. I was expecting a cold sandwich. I threw out half of it. The Reuben looked like it would be good so I’d go back and try that and I can update my review then. EDIT: in response to the owners review…..why don’t you put on the menu that it’s cold or hot?? I don’t mind unconventional but I do mind unpleasant surprises when I order food.

The kale sandwich with an egg is weirdly good. I’m not a vegetarian, so I often eat sandwiches with meat on them. This is probably one of the top five sandwiches I’ve eaten in my life.

If you like getting a 14 dollar bacon sandwich with 2 slices of bacon and a pile of pea sprouts then this is the place for you. We go a plain coffee, a tiny slice of babka and two sandwiches for 40 dollars. Insane prices for the tiniest portions we will never come back.

Nice interior but sandwiches were not worth the price (i.e. avocado&gruyere was 3x5” for $13).They also don’t allow substitutions. We requested ciabatta instead of multigrain due to an allergy but they refused.

My sweetheart and I were touring apartments in the neighborhood and literally stumbled into this place with zero expectations just needing some fuel. And to my surprise, R&D Foods is THE SPOT, a comforting find, reminding me/us of our place we called home in California.I also haven't been eating meat, but after one bite of the kale "salad" sandwich (added salami) I promptly asked my lover to trade me halves. We've been talking about that sandwich everyday since we had it 3 days ago.Sheesh! Life changing, honest.
