My family has been coming here to shop for the very best, in my particular case, since 1956, but I know they were here years before I ever shopped here with mom as a child. For me this is my baseline for all foods Middle Eastern, perhaps that's why I tend to be a bit harsh with similar here in S.D. The standards here in S.D. for Italian and Middle Eastern are certainly lower here than there, unfortunately. For Pizza, Alfredos, Brona Pizza and Long Island Mike. For Lebanese, Alladin, and/or Ali Baba. Period.

I've been coming to this family-owned business in the heart of Brooklyn since I was really little. For a long time it was the only place I knew that smelled and sounded like back home. They have so many modern spices and brands but also the very old school supplies to make traditional dishes just like the generations of my family always have. Love you guys. Stay strong!

This place started it all - my family has been coming here for generations and they are one of the OG importers of Syrian, Lebanese and middle eastern food for NYC. We stopped by to browse the wares and grab a few items to go. The food held up from a nostalgia point of view but if you are looking for gourmet middle eastern in Brooklyn I'd head to an actual restaurant. If you are looking for a hard to find ingredient for your next dish, it's pretty likely they have it!

This was always my ideal place to shop. So I made a special trip to Brooklyn Heights and found fewer items with prices even higher than expected. Seriously, Fresh Direct's cheese and olives are less expensive (or the same prices) and they will cut it to order! They used to have their own label Tahini paste and now they only have plastic jars from who knows where. Fewer products, less staff and higher prices. I used to love this place but sadly, it might be my last time there.

Everyone else is rating this 5 stars so I will too. It’s a nice little shop. But I will say, their shawarma in my visit was ONE star - if that. Maybe 0 stars. Why? When I got to het shawarma I want to say - “I want shawarma” and have the cook do the rest. They generally provide a delicious simple shawarma off a rotating spit, a thin bread, and maybe a light mayonnaise sauce and chopped cabbage at most. The whole shawarma should then be seared and it should be no larger than a tv remote. In this instance, this shawarma was a soggy mess the size of a 2lb can on tomatoes. First off, there were a whole set of ingredients and I couldn’t just order “a shawarma”. I had to hand select 3 ingredients and keep going back to the cool answering the questions on sauces. The chicken did not come from a spinning spit, but rather a basin of juicy shredded chicken. The overpacked, lack of properly prepared chicken led to an awful shawarma with much room for enhancement.Good news is they can do better. Bad news is they probably won’t without intervention.

Words could not describe how mesmerizing the pistachio baklava is. It’s a family business and there is a lot of passion and thoughtfulness behind the goods that are being sold. You can taste the love from the moment you walk in, until the moment you wash away the last bits of heaven from whatever you decide to eat here.

5 stars for the spicy hummus alone. Add in the homemade pita chips (Zaatar or spicy), the other deli items like spinach pie, the olives, the cheese selection...it's 10 stars, minimum.

I love this shop because they have good quality food items that are hard to find at a typical grocery store. Plenty of great middle eastern ingredients, candy, snacks, etc. Food can be bought in bulk, or by item. Also, the staff is incredibly helpful!

Excellent store for unusual cheeses, olives, bulk sweets, coffees, and other products. This is the original store on Atlantic ave; there is also a larger store in industry city.

Excellent middle eastern grocery. I came in looking for Turkish delights. They had a fair variety of boxed options; however, upon inspection of their dessert counter, I was able to find a house made option. It was outstanding! I had a piece of pistachio baklava too, but the delight was the clear winner. During my meandering, I noticed nice selections of spices, dried fruits & treats, tinned seafood, and coffee beans.
