Only complaint was none of the switches for the lights and curtains worked. Had to call the front desk to have them turn off our circuit breaker for the lights before we could go to sleep. Really unacceptable for a $1000 per night room. Beautiful corner wrap around balcony had a great view.

very nice hotel, the amenities are great and well maintained.checking in and checking out were pretty quick.the best thing about the hotel is definitely the astounding view!the bar the the 22nd floor is really fun and has fair prices. The room itself is nice but we felt it was not worth the price, especially during the winter where there’s no pool. we were also surprised by the price of using the hottub in the 4th floor - 120 dollars for 1.5 hours.

I checked in around 2AM. I was starving around 7:30AM before I leave to work. When I asked the front desk, they said breakfast starts at 8AM. It was on 7th March 7:30AM. But the hotel brochure tells the breakfast starts at 7AM. I was completely upset and irritated with this. Sorry if I’m rude, But this is my experience.Food & drinks: I checked in around 2AM. On its website, The William Vale touts itself as "Williamsburg's only true luxury hotel," and I would say that that statement is truly reflected in the price I paid to stay here for one night ($450 including taxes for a king bed). Unfortunately, the high price is where this hotel's relationship with "luxury" seems to end.The room I stayed in, though large as advertised, was furnished entirely with furniture that I would expect to find in a busy college student's studio flat. This is obvious from the moment you open the door and take a step onto the cheap, laminated flooring. Additionally, most of the furniture were evidently dilapidated - fraying and peeling away at the edges as low-end furniture tends to. The "wooden" panel of the sink literally fell off its hinges after a casual tug (I thought it was a drawer).Another ridiculous "offering" was the complimentary Wi-Fi coming in hot at a blazing 5 mbps. You have to pay a minimum of $15 to upgrade! $450 a night and you can't provide decent Wi-Fi for free in 2024.It seems to me that the owners of the William Vale (aka the Holiday Inn with marketing) are more interested in selling an illusion of luxury to steal your money rather than providing a real luxury experience that matches the price point. I'm sure I won't be the last victim of its charming marketing, but hopefully you won't be the next :)Rooms: Cheap furnishings from the furniture to the flooring, from top to bottom, left to right, just cheap cheap cheap

Spent the night with my girlfriend there. The front desk service was poor, to say the least. The girl who assisted me seemed to have read the How Not to Help a Guest manual. The room smelled as if someone had hotboxed it before we arrived—no issue with weed but not in my room dude. Additionally, upon leaving, I discovered an overcharge of $40 in my cc. Beautiful experience! Who wants to go back?

It's difficult to determine what the 1 star should represent. I suppose the William Vale building physically exists so it's not an out-and-out fraud. The view is also good - but then again, the view from street level is also good. That's the sum of the positives. We booked into the William Vale spa several weeks in advance and made a trip from Vancouver for the experience. On arrival at the hotel, we were told that the spa was closed and the spa manager had gone home for the day. We received no text, call or email from the hotel in advance - which would have at least saved us the unnecessary trip from Manhattan. Coincidentally, and to illustrate the stark contrast to actual good service, we received 2 messages from our garbage collection service in Canada and Europe on the same day informing us of minor service delays. The William Vale had our correct email address on file because they've been sending us marketing emails since our reservation. The front desk were unpleasant and unhelpful, you would expect a modicum of humility and perhaps an offer of a cup of coffee/call a cab from a supposed 5 star hotel - or at the very least to see what other days we might be free to rebook. It seems that the services within the hotel, e.g. pool, spa, bar are all operated independently so the front desk have zero authority (and less motivation) to respond to issues occurring throughout the hotel. We emailed the hotel later that day affording them the opportunity to rescue the situation but radio silence. The hotel and service has a feel of impending or ongoing bankruptcy (it seems that might actually be the case) so with countless actual 5 star experiences in NY, there is little reason to direct dollars in the direction of William Vale. Complete bush league operation.26th February 2024 follow-up: Despite the response below from the hotel manager inviting me to make contact (which I did) you guessed it, zero response. I'm also yet to hear from the spa manager despite her assurances on the 17th February that she would email "immediately". I'm still debating internally whether this is willful neglect or complete incompetence but it's most certainly not positive!Noteworthy details: Truly awful customer service.

Fantastic stay at the William Vale. From the moment my wife and I checked in we were treated like VIPs. Bianca was incredible and ensured our stay for the night was exceptional. Indeed it was. Highly recommend!

When I stayed with my daughter for a staycation, I was disappointed that the rooftop bar was unavailable for the 1 night that we were staying b/c they had rented it out for an event. Also, during the summer they rent out their pool as well, so guests are limited to whatever is available in terms of lounges and cabanas. It’s a nice hotel with wonderful amenities, but you will be sharing the spaces with non-guests, and not all may be available. I would suggest that you call first to make sure.

The rooms were beautifully designed—minimal and chic—even to the smallest details. Comfortable bed and daybed and even the patio chair was great! Just wished the balcony dividers were more private. Touch charging station and white noise machine were a plus. Well-designed with the guest in mind.

Jasmine has been the BEST customer representative I have ever had! We had to cancel last minute because of a family emergency and without her incredible patience and understanding I would have felt so sad. I want to go even more so I can meet her. Jasmine is a true asset! ❤️

Room was pretty tight and small but it’s Brooklyn!! Staff amazing hands down! I will say the rooms definitely need more lighting especially for a girls trip!! Overall amazing!!! Leon’s bagel was a great recommendation for quick breakfast grab and go spot. Would definitely stay again!
