I’ve had mixed experiences here. One time, they were very helpful & nice; one time, just okay, but still fine; but today, I hauled a heavy box there when their hours say open online (10am on a Friday) and they’re randomly closed ugh. Don’t trust posted hours, call ahead.

The merchant wanted to know what I was “mailing” literally. I responded nothing hazardous, nothing illegal, nothing liquid. He responded, “I need to know exactly what you’re mailing? You have to tell Me?!” I repeated again, nothing hazardous or liquid; nothing illegal. He said I Have to “tell him!” Over 45 years going to the post office, never ever has the postal worker “demanded” to know what I was mailing? And then refuse me because I did not tell them! He will never again get my business. Who does that?

Run away from this post office. They keep stealing my packages and Claiming It's being delivered to my mailbox when I don't even have a mailbox . There's multiple times they claim that was my package was delivered I and I went to the post office and retrieve it . One of the supervisor even told me that sometimes the delivery drivers scan the packages stating the packages was delivered by mistake. Smh this is a frequently issue . I truly believe the Supervisors are in on it because when you visit the post office to make a complain nothing is being done and they are mad disrespectful and rude . This postal office needs to be sbut down completely or have new supervisors . If this post office ever did you dirty please contact the United States Post office ph: 917-621-9515 , located at 421 8th Ave, New York, NY 10001 . something needs to be done !

This guy needs to change his hours. 20 mins after open and the gate is still closed? Sorry I have a shop to open myself, can't waste my time. Set your hours to when you'll actually be there.

DO NOT GO HERE! This post office loses and delays letters and packages for months! Christmas gift packages were lost and no tracking for two months until magically they were delivered - customer service could also give no info. Christmas letters were also not delivered UNTIL APRIL!!!!! 1 star is too generous for this place.

This post office is the absolute worst. It's only 1 block away from my house and I'd rather travel to a further location to get serviced. They're ridiculously slow when shipping your packages. It's happened not once but twice where they shipped a package 1-2 weeks after I dropped it off. I paid for 2-3 day shipping and it took 3 weeks for a large envelop to be delivered to a Manhattan address, I'm in Bk! There's no urgency with them, so beware.

Great shop run by a great guy. Always very helpful and considerate. No extra charges and hidden store fees like other places in the area. My go-to place for mailing things.

This location is unreliable and poorly staffed. The gentleman who runs the place is never there and is always in a terrible mood and disrespectful to customers. Don't trust the hours on Google or when you call them. He closes and opens up shop at random times. Your best bet is to get there at least an hour after they open and an hour before they close. The location is also closed during the lunch hour, when most people have time off work to run to the post office.But I supposed these grievances are to be expected when interacting with a monopoly. They have no fear of competition or any incentive to be of better service to their community. I walked here in the middle of a heatwave 30 minutes after the listed open time and there was no signs of life, the metal gate still pulled down. All around a major inconvenience, and I say that while even grading on a curve for the USPS.

Dear USPS of Eastern Crown Heights, I am a God-fearing woman, but even I have my limits of patience and absolute incompetence that I can handle from one single location. I support USPS, I bought stamps when y'all were going through it, and I am always polite and courteous to the mail carriers I see in my neighborhood - you know, the bare minimum of decency of being a good human. Unfortunately this is a parallel universe similar to The Twilight Zone when you enter this USPS location. You'll come in with eager eyes, peach slip in hand. It's a long line! You understand it's because they're severely understaffed. You wait, patiently, over an hour in the blistering heat and direct sunlight before you're even inside the branch. Finally, praise Jesus, it is your turn. You give the clerk your little peach slip, and patiently await your package. "Packages haven't been unloaded from the truck yet. Try again in a few days" Now, imagine this happening every time you go there. And instead of more than one clerk, it's always just one clerk who is perpetually angry or perhaps constipated. IF YOU HAVE NO PACKAGES TO GIVE PEOPLE FROM SLIPS OVER THE PAST FEW DAYS, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PUT OUT A SIGN BECAUSE THERE ARE HOURS OF MY LIFE THAT I CANNOT GET BACK. I have since moved to another part of Crown Heights closer to another branch, and while I will not remember this place fondly, I will remember it with a sense of awe for how quickly a government system can deteriorate into ineffectiveness and obscurity just teetering on the brink of collapse because you wanted to go pick up a package.
