My wife and I came to Forge on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon. The tasting room inside was very cozy and inviting but the seating area outside was breathtaking. They have a perfect view of the lake and it’s high enough on a hill that you can see a good quarter of it. There are numerous fire pits around that helped take the chill off. They brought us our flight and explained the differences to each wine. They’ve taken Riesling and turned it to an art form. The cheese plate was fantastic. They were very friendly to our dog. We will definitely return!

Another recent find on Seneca Lake. We decided to share a bottle of Chardonnay instead of a tasting flight the second time we stopped here. Either one is an excellent choice for the dryer palette.

Really exceptional tasting experience at the salon. A relaxed and cheerful space with very engaging and knowledgeable staff.
We had two wine flights between four of us, which was about right, and very well complemented by a cheese platter with some unusual (and excellent) tinned seafood.
All of that was great, but it’s all about the wine which was delicious with fascinating opportunities for comparing Rieslings from different vineyards (plus Forge’s exciting forays into Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) on the flight we had.

Forge Cellars has an exceptional vibe and comfortable relaxation / lounge area. Nice quality wines and a view to match. We did not have time for a tasting,. but did purchase a glass of the dry Riesling which was above average. We look forward to returning when we are in the area and have a little more time!
Update Oct 2025: Expansion brought changes, moving the enjoyable tasting area and lounge to The Salon, which provides a unique and relaxing vibe. Though I miss the original building, this new space is a strong contender. It remains a wonderful destination to purchase wine and settle in. You can take advantage of the cozy indoor fireplace on a chilly afternoon or simply enjoy the scenic view from high up on the hillside.

I wanted to like this place more than I did. The staff was all kind and helpful. I just didn't care for the wines. It seemed like others were having a good time though. The bar stools felt like they were going to fall apart though

Great wines , nice cheese selection and the sherry on top is the great view! Too bad they close before sunset in the summer but would totally recommend it!

From the get go the wines are amazing, the view is beautiful, and the experience is at a high-level. Anthony is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. I left with more wine that I should have.

Fantastic wines. We had an excellent guided wine tasting here as well. Learned more about the history of the winery, the area, and about winemaking in general. Really recommend it if you're doing the wine trail crawl, or even if you're local.

The rieslings were great, as well as the cheese and other assortments of wines, including their cabernet franc and pinot noir. My family particularly loved one specific bottle, though I don't recall its exact name. The service was welcoming and excellent, with the staff being helpful at every turn. Whether you need recommendations or specific insights, they have all the information you need.
The bathroom is also very neat.
