Will be closing my account and moving my loan to another local bank after many years of being a long term customer. I was called by Reliant before Christmas to inform me I had a negative balance due from a Paypal charge on my checking acct (which I haven’t used my checking acct in many, many years). I let the Rep know that I didn’t charge anything to Reliant as I don’t use the checking acct. I’ve been a long term account holder that does most of my vehicle/personal/home improvement loans through this bank. Rep told me I owed $34.xx which included an over draft fee and the Paypal charge. Over Christmas I found my Paypal account was hacked due to my identity being stolen. I called Reliant to let them know the charge was fraudulent and ask the exact amount I owed so I could go to a branch and pay it. I was told I now owe $200.xx for mostly over draft fee’s!!!! I asked that the over draft fees be waived as I had told the first Rep that I hadn’t made any charges to Reliant and the Rep said I only owed $34.xx a week and a half earlier. I also advised my identity had been stolen and as a result my paypal account had been hacked. I was told they’d have to submit a form request to branch where my account was opened approx 35 years ago and that they would email me the adjusted amount the next day! Really? This sounds like a process from 1970! Never got an email from them. In meantime I had Paypal remove my bank accounts and changed my password so no further fraudulent transactions could be made. Received a call from Rep over a week later and was told I now owe $181.xx as they could not remove all of the over draft fees as this WAS NOT RELIANT’s FAULT!!!??? SERIOUSLY???? The last time I checked, Identity theft isn’t really the fault of either party…bank or customer but most all banks today know how to take care of their customers when identity theft occurs. NOT RELIANT apparently! I know ESL, Tompkins and Canandaigua National Bank all call me when they think there is a possible fraudulent transaction and would NOT hesitate to waive fee’s in a situation concerning identity theft!! After speaking with Reliant Reps 4 times advising all of them that I didn’t make any charges out of my Reliant checking account, which remember hadn’t been used in many years, I was treated as if I were the fraudulent party! What TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! ATTENTION RELIANT CUSTOMERS - Seriously consider changing banks to a bank who has UPDATED fraud and identity theft procedures in place and who is proactive for YOU THE CUSTOMER…you’re NOT going to get that OR be PROTECTED from/by Reliant!

I had to straighten some things out with my accounts quickly and efficiently so I called their customer service line and got Doris. She was so professional and helpful. She knew exactly what to do and how to do it. She took care of all my banking needs. I can't thank you enough Doris!

I just closed my account here because their website always glitches, their app is not user friendly, and almost every time I call for help, they mess things up even more. I told them I needed to transfer all of my money into one account so I could then transfer that to a new bank and close my account with them. They transferred all of my money into my savings account and closed the checking account so it was literally impossible to transfer the money out. I drove to the bank now and they just closed my account asking only for my first and last name then handed me a check for the thousands of dollars that was in my account. My sister also closed her account - they asked for her name then she walked away with a check for tens of thousands of dollars. They never asked to see our ID, our address, our social security number, nothing - just spell our name and walk away with all of the money in the accounts. Terrifying.

My entire life I have always gotten the impression that a credit union was this great place that will help you with your financial needs and it was great to get into one. Well, this was my first experience with a credit union and a major step in "adulting". I have to say that my first experience was terrible.First of all, a business is supposed to work for you as the customer. I have a choice of where I bank and a business needs customers to stay in - well - business. So, they work for you. This is not the attitude here. You have to prove yourself to them. I had to jump through all the hoops to prove I was a good customer, I had to wait two years for them to deem me worthy of getting a debit card for my account. I have seen no benefits vs an actual bank. Actually, they seem harder to please to be honest. I've had them for 5 years and now that I am working on my credit, have a few credit cards, 100% on time payments, have never had an overdraft. They have recently in the past few months started the habit of returning my automatic payments. DON"T USE THEM TO PAY YOUR BILLS!This has happened 5 times in the past few months all with different bills. They just out of the blue decline a payment for no reason. Have a couple thousand in the account - decline a $25 payment so I get charged a late fee from my credit card. My car insurance that has been on the same account for years- declined- I get a cancellation notice from my insurance about nonpayment. It went through a few days later. And every time I call them it's always the same excuse "we see nothing on the account as to why it was returned" Like they just decided to not pay the bill for fun? Just so I can get a late fee? Unacceptable! I just did it to me again today and I got a late fee from my credit card that was set up for automatic payment. I called the bank. Same excuse. I got approved for an actual free checking account at a normal bank the other day and will slowly be phasing out the credit union for my bill payments. I just can't rust them anymore they decline/return everything!I may keep the savings account in the event they may be useful down the road. But using them as a main bank is done.

I worked with Jared Llamas today. I am happy to see Reliant employs honest, caring and professional people which describes Jared. Anytime I’ve had a problem, Reliant has always been there to help. Thank you.

I had a great year with this bank, it works if you don’t use your money. However, as soon as you have one problem and try to get it resolved, it’s a chain of unfortunate events and charges against your account. I will be asking around for a different bank.

These people are a joke, there's no communication from them, and when you reach out - it doesn't matter since they can't read, and only at best half-fix the problem. Totally unRELIAble. Ironic.
