(canandaigua runnings) Incompetence at this store is second to none. I'm not sure if any of the employees know anything about the products they sell. Would also be beneficial if they stopped stacking everything in front of the sheep,goat, pig feed.

I have to say Skylar in the outdoor garden area is one of the most upbeat, well spoken, kind, worker we have ever interacted with while inquiring about some different plants. We didn't end up buying anything but we plan on returning to this Runnings for any future gardening/planting needs because of Skylar! Thank you!

UPDATE full review below. Runnings is again selling handguns. Staff is not as knowledgeable as those they lost. Last experience clerk clearly didnt want to be there and told me he doesnt think they sell many guns. Clerk previous time was friendly. Still can't give 5 stars but raised to 3.
Huge variety! Great selection in many categories, unfortunately, more recently the sporting goods dept lost the knowledgeable staff and is now closed much of the time. Very disappointing changes going on.
Unfortunately as of 2023 they have stopped selling handguns "temporarily". Depending on who I ask, they are "working on paperwork", "processing paperwork", "we have submitted the paperwork", "there's a lot of paperwork", etc. Sometimes I get two conflicting answers on the same day... I've lost count of how many months it's been since they began "filling out paperwork"... as I said in the previous review above, the changes happening at runnings are disappointing.
Update: August 15, 2023 still no handgun sales. Was told "they haven't renewed the license yet"...

Huge place with everything for farmers, DIYers, property owners, even sporty types. More tools than supplies - it's not HD or Lowe's. Not fancy, but prices are good & staff was available & helpful. I got my brake cleaner plus a few doodads & even a shirt - but it cost me an hour exploring the place!

This place is a dump. The floor was so dirty I felt like I needed to sanitize my shoes. There was dog poo on the floor in several places.

Horrible customer service ,
Sporting goods department is a joke, your lucky to ever catch anyone behind the counter. If you do it's a 50/50 chance they know what they're are talking about.
