The candidate world Post Office is a nice Post Office. It is clean and the people at the desk are generally really nice. The layout of the Post Office is open and easy to walk through or for people with wheelchairs, they also have wheelchair accessible. Entries and they also provide drop off. Mailboxes out back overall. The candidate wall Post Office is a fantastic Post Office.

This morning, 12.18.23, I and about 20 others customers arrived at the Canandaigua Post Office about 8:30AM and stood in a long line awaiting the gate to open and service to begin for the day....more people continued to enter the main lobby...and wait and wait and wait...finally someone in line called about 8:45AM- and were told customer service wasn't going to open until 9AM as there was a lot of mail to get sorted for delivery....this is in conflict with the published opening time on the CDGA P.O. web site, hours posted on the doors and on the CDGA P.O. phone mail message. So, for those 20+ people that waited until P.O. staff was ready to open, about 10 hours of customers' productive time was totally wasted. AND...the P.O. staff didn't have the customer service or business sense to inform people waiting at 8:30AM that there would be a delay opening.....this is no way to run a business and the Post Master and operations staff should be held accountable.Hence my review should have ZERO stars.....but there is no option for less that one star..........

We went to go learn about the process of getting a passport. We have never gotten passports before and cluelessly stood in the passport line with our toddler making a scene. The man at the desk could clearly tell we didn't know what we were doing, and instead of being helpful, he loudly and rudely made it clear to the full room that we should have made appointment and should have already done the application. We should have done our homework. That is on us, but we did not deserve to be publicly humiliated more than we already were while we were trying to soothe our sad toddler. Completely unprofessional.

AWFUL. the guy with the disgusting mustache is the most unhelpful, rude, condescending government employee I've ever seen. For 13 years, I watched that guy belittle just about every customer he waited on. I'm so glad I left the disgrace Canandaigua has become, but I'm especially gl a d I never have to look at his smug face ever again. There are ppl who would do his job A LOT better and with a smile! His poor coworkers and family!!!! I'll pray for you all. ?

This post office is open 24 hours a day and may close the lobby for the boxes on certain occasions

Canandaigua loses a lot of mail and never does anything to correct the situation. Their canned response is effectively "we handle a lot of mail, so 'oops.' "

A very polite, and helpful person answered the phone when I called this post office to get some information.

It’s hard to put into words how frustrating this branch is. Almost every time I go there they find an excuse not to help with the most simple questions. At this branch the people are friendly but they rarely do anything they don’t have to. They point to the kiosk and tell you to use that. Or they grumble “politely” about being asked something. It’s really odd compared to other branches. I’m officially over it.As an example.- I’ve gone in to buy stamps and been told by the person at the counter “you could’ve gotten just gotten these at the kiosk”… in a tone meaning I should not have come to the counter..Another example - The forms in the lobby are often not refilled. When you need to ask them you get treated as a slight nuisance. I noticed this because I’m a commercial client at other branches and forms are often necessary to execute business.Another example - this branch only accepts passport applications only between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM at least 48 hours after having made an appointment. Meanwhile the Farmington branch accepts passport photos from 9-11:30 AM and 1:30-4:00 PM and they’ll often flex to help you out.The tone between this canandaigua branch and any of the following branches I visit couldn’t be more different… this includes Rochester city downtown, Jefferson Rd, Farmington, Bloomfield, Winton, Webster, Union Hill, or Macedon branches. I have been to ALL of those branches on numerous occasions. Yet when I visit the canandaigua branch where I live, I leave frustrated. My last trip I waited to talk to the manager about a need… and I left without ever having seen him even though I could clearly tell he was sitting at a desk around the corner just out of site.Seriously-. Why is it this frustrating? This branch needs a second look. No one wants to write a review this long on google about their post office.Get it together CA USPS.

I was in and out pretty quick. I like how convenient it is to have a p.o.box there. Never any issue, but if there is an issue I have had great contact with the postmaster and they fixed it pretty quick.

Thanks to the unfortunate appointment of Louis DeJoy as Postmaster, and his obvious intent to destroy the reputation of our postal workers, service has slowed WAY down. This was handed to a clerk in Canandaigua; extra postage was added. Mailed on 11/26, delivered to it's destination (about 20 mi.) on 12/16. Proper address and zip code, but they kept writing it on the envelope? WTH. Can't wait until that SOB is replaced with someone who cares about restoring USPS to a position of reliability and respect.

I've always had a positive experience at this location. Lots of parking, the staff has always been friendly, and such a nice and large lobby area. You can even print your own postage here without the help of staff, if desired. This is a pretty big deal if you're from one of the smaller nearby towns, and is especially nice if there is a line at the counter! :)

The employees are almost always helpful and professional but someone needs to have a word with the man out front ,who every time I come in,wears his mask pulled down ,exposing his nose. He's basically not wearing a mask, being a j**** and risking everyone around him.
