My 2 days stay at the Piaule Catskill was such a pleasant surprise. I came to learn about this place when I was randomly checking for luxury retreats in upstate NY.
I chose one of the elevated cabins which provided me with a stunning view of the woods. The cabin was chic with what I would say a minimalist design. The place offered much solitude and space for relaxation and unwinding. I think i had two of my quitiest sleeps this year literally as if I had ear plugs in my ear.
Within the property there are trails for hiking and observing nature. Other services include a small steam pool with stunning views of the Catskills mountains. The restaurant offers high quality dining. Loved the ravioli and the hummus salad.
Everyone in the staff were friendly and attentive
I loved the place. I had some stressful times this year and I longed for a place to relax. The Piaule gave me what I longed for

Love this quiet little get away in the Catskills. Close to lots of hiking trails and hunter mountain. The rooms are very clean nicely designed and comfortable beds. The spa was great with amazing views of the sunset over the Catskills mountains. The food for breakfast lunch and dinner was amazing as well. Highly recommend the Prix Fix menu for dinner.

We had a lovely stay! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the dinner was phenomenal. Rooms are private, secluded, and well stocked. I think more coat hooks in the rooms and an expanded breakfast spread could be wonderful additions. The spa was great, and frequently we were the only ones in the pool.

Best weekend ever. Unreal facilities, great staff, great food, the best massage by Colleen. The walking trails were so well maintained and marked. Even at max capacity you still felt like you had the private space to move around comfortably it never felt crowded. The negative reviews on needing to ask for room cleanings and extras need to get a grip - places like these focus on sustainability and kindly asking for what you need so resources and time don't go to waste is the least you can do as a guest.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous spa, we enjoyed every second there.
But the restaurant is a total disappointment. A take on fine dining but completely tasteless. Coming from NYC where a $500 diner would be definitely a memorable experience with a unique taste in every bite, here in Piaule was a complete waste. So sad there was no restaurant open around on our anniversary…

Incredible stay! My girlfriend surprised me for my birthday and I got to say it was the ideal hotel for me. The cabins are made for nature lovers, designed minimally but having the confort of what a luxury hotel provides (heated floors, king size bed). The hotel was extremely quiet and the spa experience was ideal. I highly recommend to anyone is on a sauna / spiritual path.
Our only recommendations would be to add a cold plunge in the spa area (maybe outside), and unfortunately we were not impressed by the food as the quality didn’t match the price and there are so many great options around.
Overall is has been my favourite getaway ever and I’m so thankful for my amazing, thoughtful lover.

I am writing a review, strictly off of my encounter with Angel And Liyah at the front desk I booked online a last second visit and before I booked, I called Liyah to confirm that the last second nature of the trip wouldn’t affect my booking. She assured me that it wouldn’t I booked and got an error called back an angel answered the phone. He informed me that despite them promising me a room housekeeping had left for the day mind you this was at 10 AM. Not sure how housekeeping leaves that early. He said that the cabins were shut down and could not be rented for Wednesday through Friday. Stay that they promised me when I asked to speak to someone higher up. He said he was the manager and promptly tried to end the call. I’m not sure how it is to stay there but to deal with them on the phone is highly unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend taking the drive there, especially if you can’t get peace of mind from booking.

Truly a wonderful idyllic establishment. What makes this place truly special is the warmth of every staff member that you encounter. The front desk are warm and welcoming and a special thanks to Teddy for helping me find the spa for my massage and the wonderful restaurant staff who brought me a candle-lit dessert in honour of a solo trip celebration for one! The massage from Colleen was rejuvenating and the dinner and lunch menus were both delicious. I love that they had my favourite kombucha on the drinks menu too as an alcohol-free yet healthy option. The views are unmatched, and I appreciated the details from the stemware, hand-picked flowers to the comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture. This all made for a plush retreat space away from the city. I’ll be back.

Piaule is a perfect example of style over substance. The rooms are marketed as minimalist design, but that’s just a euphemism for having nothing. Nightstand? Half a stool. Cabins are small and cramped, with no amenities to speak of and no creature comforts.
But the biggest joke? You can’t take two showers in a row. Mid-shower, the hot water ran out. When we called the front desk, we were casually told this is “normal” and to wait 20 minutes between guests. At this price point, that’s absurd.
As for the “spa,” don’t be fooled. It’s a glorified basement with a small pool that may or may not be heated (it wasn’t), a broken steam room, and a dry sauna that barely hits New York summer temperatures.
If you’re looking for somewhere to take photos and pretend you’re having a serene retreat, this might be your place. But if you expect even basic comfort or functionality, look elsewhere. A deeply disappointing stay.

My wife and I recently stayed at Piaule for a weekend anniversary getaway, hoping to relax, recharge, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime. Not only did Piaule offer the ideal setting in the Catskills for that kind of retreat, but the team there made the experience truly exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was thoughtful and personalized. A special thank you to Alexis, who took incredible care in helping me plan a surprise welcome package for my wife. She provided thoughtful recommendations for local experiences outside the hotel and kept me constantly updated on every request I made. Her warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism set the tone for a memorable weekend.
I also want to highlight the massage experience with Mallory, which was nothing short of spectacular. Her deep knowledge of her craft was evident, and she delivered a treatment that provided both physical relief and a deep sense of calm. It was one of the best massages we’ve ever had.
If you're looking to escape the demands of daily life, immerse yourself in nature, and unwind in a beautifully designed setting with luxurious accommodations, incredible food, and a truly attentive staff, Piaule is the perfect destination. No request was too big or too small for the team. We left feeling restored, grateful, and already looking forward to our next visit. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

My husband and I had a lovely and relaxing weekend at Piaule. The cabin, the main space and the spa were beautifully designed and wonderful spaces to be in. In general, the staff was warm and accommodating. Our room was both high-end and rustic with a beautiful view into the woods.
Overall, the food was excellent.
A few notes:
Our experience at check-in was less than optimal. We were met with a surly and indifferent guy who was not particularly helpful. Specifically, no one offered to help us bring our bags to our cabin at the far end of the property. He handed us a map and sent us on our way.
Having a prix-fixe dinner menu at a hotel is a weird choice. Some people just want to order ala carte. Additionally, $135 seems like a high price point.
The yoga class we took was quite good however, for the price of the rooms, the yoga should have been free.
Also, be prepared, there will be bugs. A lot of them.
