I would give this place ZERO STARS if I could!! This is the absolute worst storage unit I’ve ever owned. I was with Prime storage for a little over a year and I am absolutely appalled at how Prime Storage runs and the lack of accountability and professionalism! My 5 x 10 unit started out at $120 monthly and my last month is $164. Your guess is as good as mine as to why the prices have shot up from a mo to mo without any notice! Not to mention the filthiness of the place,rat poop,garbage thrown everywhere,homeless ppl, just a complete junk box. Late August I went into prime storage and had noticed on my way in that there were blowers on I thought it was a bit odd but didn’t think much of it.. I made my way to my storage unit, that I am paying extra for climate control & insurance(what a waste on both)and I was in utter shock when I opened the unit to find absolutely everything, and I mean, everything covered in mold!! I’m talking over $50,000 of damage!! I am absolutely devastated to say the least & a lot of things were of sentimental value and others were very expensive gifts that I will never be able to get back again along with my favorite discontinued very very expensive brand name handbags which the cheapest one was $2500-ranging all the way up to $20,000. A lot of these were collectibles and all of the belongings along with memories I have left of my grandmother who raised me are completely ruined!! What I found to be just as upsetting was how the staff handled the whole situation so unbelievably unprofessional! I was visibly upset and asked to speak with the manager when I did Alyssa the manager working told me that there was a FLOOD 2mos PRIOR!!!! How unbelievably sorry she was, and she would do everything in her power to make this right, she’d put in a claim for me to get me compensated for at least the items that were ruined, which was literally everything!! She told me in the meantime, she would wave the next 2 months bill. I still was very very unhappy and was outraged that there was a flood, and I was not even notified and all the while being charged Without a word!!!!!! I waited 3 mos until hearing back from Alyssa, meanwhile, I was still getting notifications that my storage unit bill was due!! Well there was no way I was paying a thing without being somehow compensated.. and if you could believe it, it gets worse when I speak to Alyssa she tells me that my claim was denied because under the insurance protection plan that I also paid extra for did not cover mold!! Then proceeds to tell me that she never told me anything about a flood, which was a blatant outright LIE!! I’m sure she spoke with her boss, and he told her to never repeat that again to any customer.. so she proceeds to tell me that not only do I have to pay for the past two months she had told me would be waved but that I’m also responsible for late fees AND that I will not be getting compensated whatsoever and that my unit is going into auction in a few weeks!!!! OUTRAGEOUS DISGUSTING DESPICABLE&UTTER INCOMPETENCE THESE PPL ARE CROOKS!!! Not only was I not told about the flood and not even at the very least given months off of my bill, I was lied to I’m not being compensated for a single thing my lock has been cut, and my things are up for auction in January,If I do not pay the 2mo fee that I was originally told would be waived!! To make matters worse, I have to move to a complete different storage facility with being given only 48 hours to remove my belongings. WORST PLACE EVER NO ONE COME HERE YOU’LL REGRET IT!!Their insurance protection. Plan is a complete waste of money and gets them out of being held liable for pretty much anything!! SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN THERES HOMELESS PEOPLE & ADDICTS LIVING IN THERE,ITS FILTHY MICE POOP ALL OVER & WITH THE PLACE BEING RUN BY CROOKS!! Their so called “CLIMATE CONTROL” is BS too! Many times in the summer I came in to air blowers on and it extremely humid. I’ve used over 10 different storage facilities. I’ve never experienced anything like this!STAY AWAY from this hell hole!! 20%pix pos

I've unfortunately rented out storage units for many years now; under several different companies/management corps. Fortunately, the latest experience with Prime Storage [Central Islip] location turned the once dreadful, unpleasant experience to a great pleasant one! Especially being helped and walked thru the process by whom I believe to be the manager named, Alyssa. She was awesome; 5 stars for her as well!!

Alyssa was my P.O.C for my storage visit & she was very knowledgeable and helpful to me. From the initial conversation to the last interaction she was awesome!!!
I will definitely use this establishment for my future needs & highly recommend them to anyone in the area who needs a extra parking spot.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. They raise their rates every three months, and in less than a year, I went from paying $35 to $110 for a 5x5 unit—plus an extra $20 for "insurance" that also has been raised 2 times this year and it doesn't even cover the mold that their facility causes.
When I tried to discuss the issue with management, I was met with indifference. If you’re going to charge customers so much, the least you can do is ensure their belongings are safe from mold! I guess after so many people complained they finally put dehumidifiers, for a week or 2, and now they are no longer there.
If you want to be overcharged and risk your items getting ruined, then by all means, choose this storage facility. Otherwise, look elsewhere!

While my experience isn't related to storage per say, I did have a pleasant experience at this location.
Moving is one of the most stressful times in a person's life plus around the same time I was getting married. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed both physically and mentally. In addition, every place that sold moving supplies wanted an arm and leg for barely anything at all.
The front desk person Alyssa took the time to hear me vent (mind you, she didn't have to do that) and actually LISTENED to WHAT I NEEDED. She took the time to show me the different options available to me which were quite a number of options. She actually delivered good old fashioned customer service, and that's a rare thing to find nowadays in a time where everything is being run by automated machines and AI.
Look, while I may have been there for a totally different reason other than storage, if their employees were able to give such a strong impression on a first time visit, this speaks volumes of the facility they are running.
For this reason, I definitely look forward to having my personal items stored here in the future as space is starting to become scarce in my current home. Please continue the good work, guys!

Lower floor was infested with mold. Had to throw out 1/2 my stuff. Relocated upstairs and 18 months later? More mold upstairs. The kicker was they wanted to charge me a fee to throw out my damage goods and I had to fight them to not charge me a fee to get a new unit. There is Mold everywhere. They have dehumidifiers all over the place I’m moving out. This place is the worst. Do not get storage here. Sad because before they were bought by prime this place was great.
