“Croton Animal Hospital has taken care of my pets, one dog and three cats, for 25 years. They have all been wonderful!! Dr Gustavson has been their primary vet and has been very knowledgeable, professional and compassionate!! He has helped me with diabetic care of two cats who have been on insulin, which has not always been easy, and two cats with IBD. He has always been available for me with all my questions and need for guidance.
He is a fantastic vet and I will always go to him.

“Doctor K is absolutely the best! He is a great person and a phenomonal vet. He is compassionate, and truly loves our furbabies. I have great confidence in him, and would always entrust him to care for my pets' well-being. Doctor K also always calls promptly, when he promises a call about a test result, and he also takes the time to email answers and advice to my concerns. He is extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful in offering solutions. Most of all, he provides a plan and next steps for all of my furbabies, which is very helpful in a multi-pet home in keeping everyone on track. I have been with Dr. K for many years, dating back to when he did acupuncture on my dog. I would highly recommend Yorktown Animal Hospital and their sister location Peekskill Animal.”
“I had such a wonderful experience at Taconic Veterinary Center! My family and I recently relocated to the area and were looking for a local veterinarian we could trust with our mini poodle.
I initially brought her in for a consultation, and she also had a gland cyst that needed to be removed. From the moment we arrived, the entire team was incredibly caring, patient, and kind—not only to our dog, but to my husband and me as well. They made us feel comfortable, answered our questions, and most importantly, treated our girl with so much compassion and care.

Recently, I had a kitten who ultimately was very sickly and did not make it but the vets at Sleepy Hollow handled the situation with extreme care and respect. While my kittens final care was handled by a recommended specialist, the vets at Sleepy Hollow personally called me to offer condolences, send me a card, and made a donation to Cornell University's animal science program in her honor. “I’m not going to lie. I was reluctant to come here based on review ratings. I decided to read each and every review to see what’s up.
Our fur babies are our family…our children. We love them unconditionally and when they are sick and helpless, we feel sick and helpless. We are emotionally attached. As humans, when we love someone (somepet) and we feel helpless, we sometimes have a hard time accepting the truth of the matter. Many turn their emotions toward someone or something to blame. I feel that while there may have been human errors that have been made, I do truly believe that the faculty in this place is empathetic and caring. Now…here’s my experience….hope you’re still with me.
Making the appointment and stating why I was referred to their internist was easy, pleasant and caring. I never felt rushed all my concerns were addressed and with empathy.
Upon arrival (15 minutes early) I was checked in and seen by the vet tech (I think her name was Mariah?) less than 5 minutes later. She was very thorough with intake questions and so genuine and sweet with Bentley (my 7 year old Golden Retriever). Five minutes later Dr. Stephens, the internist, came in. I called my partner and put her on speaker phone. We both bombarded her with questions and “what if’s”. She graciously answered our questions….we could tell the knowledge that she had but she answered slowly, in Layman’s terms. She was patient and kind AND knowledgeable all in one.
She had ideas of things to test for. Are these tests expensive?? Hell yes!! But….so are ALL medical tests….for all living beings. Our Bentley is our family. Would you complain about prices for Great Aunt Edna’s medical care? Probably not…you know why? Because she has health insurance. And so do we. For Bentley. Just food for thought.
On that note, the communication between the check in, to the procedures, to the overnight care to the checkout was OUTSTANDING. Dr. Stephens actually just called me (just before she left for the weekend), while writing this review to let me know that the results for radiology hadn’t come in yet.

“I take my pet to Banfield . Overall I like the wellness plan but it pricey. Your paying forever shot n visit on a plan nothing in life is free but Oxygen. Anyway , I do love taken my child( fur dog) to any convenient location because they do have so much. The doctors are cool. They also keep it clean. My baby enjoys coming here. Love Banfield.”

“I appreciate that the Dr. Emmot was prepared and had reviewed the extensive records I had forwarded before our appointment. I also appreciated that they were on time. Dr Emmot spent an unhurried hour explaining in detail what was going on and answering patiently all my questions. Since extensive labs were required, I appreciate also the fact that I was asked if I was OK with going ahead with all of it given the price. That consideration is not common and worth noting.
I highly recommend going there.”
