Insight Computers was my computer technical support for many years when I lived in upstate NY. Six years ago we moved 2400 miles NW to SW Montana. While we do have a number of excellent computer service centers in nearby Bozeman, I continue to work with Insight Computers due to Frank's and his staff's broad based knowledge and very strong customer support.
Even with the logistical demands imposed by the existing distance, I find it well worth it to continue my long sanding relationship with Insight Computers.

Frank begged me to change it to five stars. Don’t ask. It’s a bitter spouse thing.

I dropped off my son's laptop computer for a lid hinge repair. The owner, Frank, assured me that he could glue the hinge rather than replacing the entire lid and that it would work well since the damage wasn't bad. For 3 days he kept putting me off and each time I called he acted as if he had forgotten about it. I called at noon on the 4th day to confirm it was done, and Frank excitedly said it was. When I arrived, he said they had "just" glued it, the glue was wet, the computer needed to be kept upside down, and not used for several hours until the glue dried. He clearly didn't do the "repair" until right before I got there. Frank also told me that there was damage to the wireless connection so he installed a USB wireless device. I asked if that would cause any issues with wireless accessibility and was vehemently assured that it would not and my son wouldn't "be able to tell the difference." Frank said "By being able to glue the hinge, I saved you the $1,200 cost of getting a new laptop! Isn't that great? This is going to work really well for him - he's going to be really happy with it!!" When I got home, I saw the protective covering over the hinges was detached and in danger of breaking off. I called Frank and he said it was "fine" and that it could be taped down. That night, it would not connect to the internet. My son called Frank and was told that I rushed him, he didn't have time to test the wireless USB, and that I lied about what Frank had told me. I called Frank immediately after that and he lied to me about the conversation he had just had with my son, telling me that everything was fine and they had worked it out. We had to return the computer to Frank so he could fix the wireless connection he had installed. Prior to the "repair" my son had used the wireless connection without issue and Frank never asked if he should/could do that "repair." My partner picked up the computer once it was "fixed" (we were out of town for the day) and my son still couldn't figure out how to connect to wireless internet that evening. He called Frank immediately and was told how to access the the connection - Frank's co-worker didn't show that to my partner at the pick-up, despite being asked if there were any instructions he should relay to my son. Several weeks later, the wireless internet connection stopped working altogether after not working consistently after the "repair." I called Frank and he kept interrupting me and telling me all the ways he was right and I was wrong. He tried to blame everyone else instead of taking responsibility for his poor work. Frank changed his story and said that the hinge damage was so bad his repair was a "temporary fix" until we got a new computer. I finally told Frank that I wanted a full refund. His immediate response was, "That's fine - money's not an issue here. I deal with a lot of crazies and give a lot of refunds. Give me your card number and I'll process it right now." I gave Frank my card number and he said "I just processed it and you'll get in in a few days." More than a week later the money still wasn't in my account. I called Frank and he said "Oh yeah, let me take care of that now for you." When I reminded him that he said he had already processed the refund, his response was "I waited a few days and then I sent it. You'll have it by Monday." I told Frank that he was lying to me, yet again, and that if the money wasn't in my account by Monday I would pursue legal action to get it. The money was there right away so he clearly lied to me the first time he said he had processed it. Frank is a "yes man" with a hero complex. He's clearly disorganized and speaks without real thought or intent, and has no issue with lying. I know others who have had issues with him as well. Go someone else for your computer repairs - I love supporting small businesse

Gave two stars because I did have one encounter that went as it should have but this last experience was it for me. Frank is rude and simply tries to cut corners with fixing your products opposed to being honest and just doing the job right. Lies to customers and will continue to do so unless they call him on it which shouldn't be how a business operates. Needless to say after bringing my computer to him twice for this last experience its still not working well (dare I say even having more issues than when I brought it to them)
