The Athenaeum Hotel offers a dining experience at its Heirloom Restaurant, known for excellent service that never disappoints. The restaurant serves excellent food, including dishes like a veggie stack, mussels, pork chop, and prime rib. It has previously offered special buffet dinners, such as a Southern-style buffet with song-themed offerings, featuring proteins like catfish, chicken, beef tenderloin, and ribeye. While the beef is often a highlight, buffet portions can sometimes run limited. The buffet includes a decent assortment of good veggies and perfect bite-sized desserts. The service is consistently described as great and excellent, with staff handling issues gracefully. The venue is close and convenient to the nearby Chautauqua venue and concerts. While the buffets are decent and wonderful, some feel the price does not always command the value, especially if items like chicken are served cold. Overall, the experience makes for a fantastic evening, creating great memories and leaving guests wishing to book a stay at the hotel.
The restaurant did a pre set buffet for the Bonnie Raitt concert, everything was very good.

The “pop up” Southern buffet offered before the Bonnie Raitt concert was wonderful. Great song themes associated with southern-style offerings. We chose the 4:30 seating to allow ample time to enjoy our meal and wander a bit before the concert.
