This system is garbage, more specifically the fire/smoke alarms...I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My fire alarm had been going off while I was at work, I didnt receive 1 phone call to let me know, when I checked cameras it had already been hours since it started going off. Fire department showed up at 12:56 and I had no clue, I woke my friend up at 130 in the morning to go check my house. I call adt, they said they tried calling me, but they called a number that belongs to someone no longer associated my account. They had me silence the alarm. I then get out of work at 7am to see that its again going off. Still didn't receive 1 phone call from anyone. Fire department had shown up at 4:14 with the state troopers, and being that my Fire alarm is going off, my 5 dogs inside are going nuts and there is clearly no one home, no vehicle and no one answering the door. You'd think they would've just beat the door in to make sure all was ok..but no. So the entire time Im at work, had I not checked the cameras, my whole house and dogs could've been burnt to a crisp and I wouldnt have known until several hours later. I pay 90 bucks a month to have a peace of mind when I'm not home and the experience I've had this morning has been extremely far from that. I'm extremely livid right now. This was my basement alarm going off. Its concrete and stone, its cold and it just snowed last night, there is no way the heat sensor could've been triggered. Mind you this is the 4th time this has happened and I've had the system for less than a year.

The sensors malfunction and don’t even get me started the door bell barely lets you on it and when someone pushes the door bell it won’t even let you see or talk to them…

I wish I had never signed up for ADT. The system they installed works well. But they charge you for the equipment & the system separately.
I was scammed for a considerable amount of money & could not make all payments as they wished. But I made payments. Because I missed a payment the entire amount of the contract was due - about 1300.00. I received constant texts, emails reminding me of my deficiency in payments. I called in often to try & work out payment arrangements but ADT wanted the whole amount due to the end of the contract.
Their customer service has to be the worst ever. They are mean, make you feel like you are not worthy of their service. I made a payment this month but it wasn't large enough for them. Now they want 200 plus dollars or they are going to terminate service. Haven't they heard of inflation? But the anxiety in dealing with them is not worth the service. Harassment techniques are used & make you feel like you shouldn't have their services.
Don't sign a contract with them. You will regret it.
PS. I paid ADT what they wanted. A week later they debited my card again overdrawing my bank account causing overdraft fees..They simply are not good suppliers.
PS. 6/23/25. My contract with ADT is 40.00 for service & 40.00 for equipment. On June 2, 2025 I paid 100.00. Then ADT charged me another payment of 40.00. Just to get Xtra money. AVOID ADT at all cost. They will destroy your life..

ADT SUCKS OVER PRICED LOW QUALITY AND CAN NEVER SPEAK TO SOMEBODY WITH A FLUID ENGLISH JUST WAS TOLD THAT WOULD BE CHARGED $700 TO MOVE A CAMERA SYSTEM

So NOT go with this company. I was with them for over 29 + years. Sensors malfunctioned. Replaced WITH ANOTHER malfunctioned sensor. Refused to send a tech. Paid faithfully & still NO SUPPORT. Had to switch to Vivint after all these years. This company is garbage, where my purchased ADT items are.

This is hands down the absolute WORST company you could ever hire. Not only is it a complete scam, but they will WITHOUT TELLING YOU. Sign you up for a 3 YEAR MINIMUM. Then when you try and cancel sooner. You have to pay them 75% of the remaining months up front for them to push a button and turn off your service. Do not EVER go with ADT. I've been on hold and transferred 8 times and for 2.5 hours now just to talk to someone who knows what they're talking about.

Horrible company I thought I was getting this great service but I was deceived Trevor the sales person completely lied when asked of the additional device to connect my wifi and cameras had a cost disqusting! And PLEASE NOTE YOU HAVE 3 DAYS to CANCEL NOT SIX MONTHS!!!

Be extremely cautious when dealing with ADT as a whole. This company and its reps will give you false information when signing up. Will tell you that your contract is for x years. Have you Esign on a small device and then your locked in for more years then you bargained for...it's the only way this company can make money. They are extremely shady and will add tons of fees onto what they tell you as well. Buyer beware.

ADT is the biggest scam of all time. I purchased a security system and plan 2 1/2 months ago. For two months I was unable to even make a user account. I call their customer service line more than 10 times and each time I waited four hours because they just kept reconnecting me to different representatives that couldn’t help me, and then at the very end they would just disconnect my call.After two months of back-and-forth and spending 40-50 hours on hold. I find out that the reason why I couldn’t make an account was because their Website was being updated.Not once did any of their customer service reps tell me that they were having website issues. when I called to return my system and plan, which I had never used because I couldn’t make an account due to their website issues, they wouldn’t allow me to return it and they hit me with hundreds of dollars worth of fees for leaving their service that I never even started.If you were thinking of getting a security system, I would recommend looking anywhere else. This company is a scam .

People need to please take a minute to read this review regarding ADT Security.I am a security system and camera installer I have more than 20 years of installation experience I worked for spectrum as a cable installer for 3 years and I love helping customers feel safe and secure in there homes. Today was the first time I was asked to do a self installation kit of a ADT system for a customer that was a customer of ADT for more then 4 years . All her equipment was outdated and she needed to upgrade her smart home hub , door sensors and cameras. All the new upgraded equipment was delivered by UPS from ADT and was equipped with all self installation information. So my 70 year old customer contacted ADT and asked how much would it cost for a installation and she was told by ADT that would be almost $1000 dollars to send out a technician to install their own equipment. (Please take a moment and read that again ) yes $1000 to install there own equipment. Not only is that cost over exaggerated but ADT send her their new upgraded equipment and they included 2 Google cameras. So ADT Security Company uses Google cameras that can be purchased from any online store and installed without any monthly service so ADT is charging a monthly service for an item that is not even made by their company. ADT Security needs to be ashamed of them selves.People please stay away from ADT security

Do your research before, we listened to the customer service rep and techJust to be screwed and stuck with a contract we do not want. 6 month money back is alie it 3 day, like that not even enough time to demetmine if u like the service. 3 day return mean it has to be done before that 3rd day not contacted by the 3rd day. They are amazing when it come to selling u the product and service but once u get it you will not get help when there a issue. A tech only comes out for the first installation then they expect you to do it over the phone with tech. When u contact them they keep sending u to different customservice reps. You will be put on hold for hour then hung up on. No one ever knows the answer to questions. When they mess us they do not make it right. Please save ur money and don't go through Adt. Are camera barely work or load and we have good wifi. Are camera we had for 200 worked better then adts so please save ur money. This is from a person who never leave review. Ive been trying to give them a chance after issue after issue but everything shows how they treat there customers.
