Suburban Propane has such a poor customer service experience and their billing system is from 1970. Tough to deal with and not the cheapest supplier. Had a tank picked up and. They can not refund me what they owe me on a credit card I have been using. They have to manually process a paper check and it takes 2+ weeks to process. This is why people are switching to their local fuel supplier for their propane needs. Don’t use them- run to your nearest local provider.

Total rip-off. Literally trying to charge me $6.27/gal, while everyone else charges from $3.50-$4.15, at today’s prices 11/06/2023. Going to switch provider. Even one of their delivery drivers mentioned how they do this as a normal practice.

Had a service tech Jeff Ricker come out from the Chester, NY office to unhook my tank while I had some construction being done at my house.When the construction was done he returned to hook me back up and test the system. He was a 5 Star technician got the job done was very polite and helpful. That’s why I only use Suburban Propane at my home. Thank you for the prompt and great service.

Not really for the people, they create a whole driver's so busy scenario when it comes to deliveries. It may take 5 to 10 to 14 business days to get an oil delivery from them because they so backed up but can promise you a delivery in 48 hours for $250. While the oil truck sits parked in front of the office blocking all the handicap parking.They could care less about their customers. They show it in their actions.

i was allowed to run out of propane due to suburbans failure to maintain an appropriate delivery schedule and shorting my previous delivery.. but the technician Jeff who was sent to drain the air out of the system and provide us with an emergency allotment of propane was excellent and insured that the system was functioning well prior to leaving. i wasted a day waiting for service i should never have needed , but jeff was great

I live in Tennessee and own property in New York, I asked Suburban to deliver automatically every month so that I could have heat in the house during the cold days of winter they have never failed to help me keep our house warm.THANK YOU SUBURBAN FOR A GREAT JOB

The fee for an emergency delivery is ridiculous, you still have to wait 5- 7 business days because they’re short staff (drivers). Can I borrow your truck please I’m just up the road.

Suburban came and picked up my old tank, never left any paperwork or notice that they did,still waiting for some response as to when i will get refund for the propane that was still in tank, please let me know what needs to be done to finalize credit.Thank You.

Delivery and customer service have been consistent over many years. All good. One thing that put me off: A mailer in my bill promoting propaganda to discourage electrification efforts, heat pumps etc. Bad use of resources and gives me a bad feeling about the company after many years of feeling positive.

I’ve called 6 times since 4:40 pm. I’m aware they close at 5. I called earlier in the day and gave all our information to have the services switched into our name as we close on our new home tomorrow. All I had to do was call back she say yes we want to continue using the previous homeowners service but under our name. In those 6 calls they picked up the phone and immediately hung up. Guess it was too late for them to even have the courtesy to say hello. Based off of that it’s just a tell tale sign of how dealing with them will be. Due to that I will no longer be using them. Very unprofessional.

If I could give zero stars I would. The customer service is horrible!!! The attitude is through the roof and it seems like I’m an inconvenience when inquiring about my account. No one seems to want to help. They were recently either bought out or had change in management and since then,2 years ago, I’ve had nothing but head aches from them.What’s the point of a lock in price and payment plans if they just change the price on you. My father left them, after being a customer for over 15 years and I’m about to do the same. Losing customers you’ve had for YEAARSSS speaks volumes.

To Whom It May ConcernI am very pleased with the service as well as grateful with a representative name Ms. Maryellen. This was my first time ever putting services in my name for a house. I called and spoke to Ms. Maryellen about 5 times that day, and not one time did she become short patient with me. I felt so lost, ashamed, and afraid not knowing what needed to be done.My son’s father and I purchased a house, my son called and stated he moved out and turned everything off. (Lights, oil, and propane oil). I called the company not knowing what to do next. I had the honor of speaking with Ms. Maryellen. I explained to Ms. Maryellen what happened, what was going on, and my concerns, while the tears was rolling down my cheeks. I could not understand why he would do something like that to my son whom was living in the upstairs area.Ms. Maryellen said calm down and stop crying, I will help you and explain everything to me and how things work. She took me step by step so that I would understand what to do and how to read the gauge on the tanks. I needed propane and a delivery came that same day. I was so over whelmed and feeling sick.I want to thank Ms. Maryellen for the kindness, understanding, caring ways, and the nurturing I felt while she was talking to me. I shared my experience with a couple of co-worker that I know live up there and told them they should change if they are not with Suburban Propane.Stay safe and wonderful blessings.SincerelyChristine Hunter
