“I see a ton of people complaining about customer service it's a thrifty store how much customer service do you really need get your items pay for it and then leave so what if you have to deal with a cranky employee you really think they want to be there working at a thrifty store give them a break you're getting items 50 60 70% off stop complaining”
“This store is one of the only places in the area I have found that sells used/vintage books for reasonable prices that isn't a thrift store selling whatever is donated. The seller Other World Books really takes the time to find books from all genres and price points. I went yesterday with my husband and we both found some really great books. I got an original printing of A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin and my husband found two books from the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. With access to affordable books becoming more scarce places like this are really important. I've been three time in the last 3 months and I've bought at least 30 books. I cannot recommend them enough if you're trying to grow your home library without spending a small fortune. Book aside this store also has some really great stationary/ephemera as well. There are boxes and piles of postcards, old photos, maps, prints, etc scatter all over the store that are really fun to go through. I bought a vintage Waterman Laureat yesterday as well that I was able to take apart, clean, and get working last night and I'm very happy with it.”
“My daughter got a breathtaking junior prom dress. All the ladies were friendly and more than willing to help with picking out dresses based on your child’s style and size. They make dress shopping fun, the whole experience was beautiful. I recommend making an appointment, but they saw us as a walk in. Also try giving yourself a couple weeks before prom to get a dress so you have time to get it altered if needed. They have us a list of people they recommend , and people other girls have recommended. You get a discount on shoes or other items once we purchased the dress, and they also register the dress with your child’s school so no other girl has the same dress in the same color. We loved everything about this beautiful store.”
“Excellent place for all your card collection needs. Awsome inventory and great atmosphere. The monthly card shows are my favorite. You can't find a better card shop in Syracuse and the staff is top notch.”
“My boyfriend showed me this place and i absolutely loved it! I don’t go to Syracuse but I fell in love with it just because of this shop! I found pants that fit me (which is so hard to find) and beautiful jewelry pieces for extremely reasonable prices. Definitely check this place out!”
“One of my favorite thrifty shoppers, I have found absolute gems here. Their prices aren't bad considering everything has been skyrocketing. Luck in the movie/dvd section. My last visit I found the cutest little jar to be my new sugar jar and I also found some very pretty plates from the 70s. The staff was also very pleasant.”
“Love this little place. Always find time to swing in here and there. They run a daily special where two tag colors go on sale that day! This store has really reasonable prices; some shops prices are getting crazy...”
“The 315 is my favorite store for used clothing. Designer brands in great shape. The staff there is always super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem”
“I had to drop off a UHaul's worth of furniture and the young man working solo in the back room (on Memorial Day 2025) was very helpful, great attitude and a pleasure to meet.
If we had used Goodwill... it would of cost us nearly $600 to have them pick up. Instead a $50 UHaul and good friends had the loading job complete in under an hour.”
“Love this store my favorite in the Syracuse area it is very clean and organized. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. They also have a great selection and I always find something I like for a deal!”
“I shop in the East Syracuse store on occasion as well as another location near Tip Hill. While shopping I overheard another shopper saying that everything should be a dollar since you get it for free. The prices weren't high for the items and I thought it was a little crazy to hear a complaint because I had just finished telling the stock boy that the store looked so much nicer and cleaner than it used to years ago. I've done a lot of research into the differences between Rescue Mission and local competitors so I've learned a lot about where the money supports the community. The stores look like they need constant attention to keep up with and it seems that it would be expensive to give out free food all day and have beds for people to sleep in. I hate hearing people complain about paying $1.99 for a thing that cost $40 in a real store. They act like someone is getting rich off of a picture frame. I'm certainly not complaining about either of these stores because they have great groups of people as I'm sure all of the stores do. I'm hoping that maybe this message might prompt a bit of advertising opportunity to show other people how they buy things and it pays for other things. As for the stock boy and coworkers, great job.”
“My husband and I love this Salvation Army! We always enjoy finding a good deal and good products and this Salvation Army always seems to have a good stock of items . The staff is always very friendly here at this Erie Blvd location. They have a good selection of books and dvds as well as tons of clothing.”
“I have shopped here a few times mainly for handbags. They have a nice selection of designer bags. Today I shopped for both clothing and handbags. Suzanne was amazing. While I was trying on clothes she brought me other items she thought I would like based off what I already shopped for. It was like having a personal stylist and I loved every minute! I will be back soon.”
“This is a beautiful goodwill. It’s big and lots of stuff. The entrance/exit area is much bigger than other locations. The lights in the entrance/exit area are nice as well. One of the nicest goodwills i have been in! Store is about 21,000 square feet. Located off route 11! This goodwill is off I-81 and the easiest way is take the route 11 exit!”
