I like the casual atmosphere here. Staff is always friendly and rooms are clean. Someone always greets me when I check in. Great community feel.

This is a great YMCA! The cardio room and the weights area are very nice and clean. They provide spray bottles for everyone to clean their station when they are not using it. Very nice machines and all of them work perfectly. Staff members are very nice and kind. Yoga classes and Spin classes are very good and there are multiple classes to choose from every day. The pool is sometimes empty and sometimes crowded but is very nice and has lots of great things like a hot tub, sauna, steam room, and other swimming equipment to help unexperienced swimmers! They also take great care of children and my child is always happy. Lots of options for exercises and lots of different features. The classes always have equipment if you don't bring your own and all of the classes are really good and the instructors are very well qualified. Overall, amazing YMCA! The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because the men's locker room smells very bad.

Cardio room is great but circuit and weight room are too small when busy and staff does nothing to supervise. Nobody wipes anything down despite spray bottles everywhere.

Jan16 2023, 5:30pm. I went to the sauna with my workout attire. Workout leggings and a dri fit nike on. I sat there for no more than 3 minutes and had a lifeguard tell me that I had to undress to be in the sauna. Mind you it's a co-ed sauna and it was filled with men. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a gym. The lifeguard stated "you can't wear anything long sleeve in the sauna". And did not leave me alone and continued to stare me down as if I'm supposed to take off my shirt in front of him. Then he proceeded to also let me know that I can't wear shoes in the sauna and I need to put them in the locker room or he would escort me out. Being approached and stared down by a hostile lifeguard, in a room(sauna) that was filled with men and getting this type of treatment from the condescending lifeguards that work at the Clifton Park ymca shows the lack of respect you as a member will receive. After being harassed in the sauna, I decided to leave and as I was leaving I tripped and fell over a SHOE. And the lifeguard LAUGHED at me. That's when I realized he singled me out. All the men in the sauna had their shoes and their shirts and nothing was said to them. Even after I fell on another man's shoe, the lifeguard did not tell him to put it away in the locker room. I was too upset to stay and didn't feel comfortable to even be in this facility. And so I went to the YMCA in Troy, and I asked them the rules of the sauna, the only rule is no shoes inside the sauna. And they had no problem with my outfit at all. And this had happened to me twice at the Clifton Park ymca. The next day I went in to talk to the manager about my incident. And as I was telling Yillian Burek(pool director of this location)what happened she justified all this by saying her lifeguards are young and still in training. And no consequence was going to take place but she will make an announcement. And when I told her "this had happened to me twice, the same announcement for the second time will not change anything" she replied with "well what do you think I should do?" I said "Fire them!" Make a change for your facility to make women feel comfortable. Or dont have your little boy lifeguards come up to grown women telling them to strip or leave. And then just to justify their wrong doing just because they are young. After I replied to her question. She sarcastically said to me "So do you expect me to fire the first lifeguard as well?" I was embarrassed and bullied again and again in this location.

It is a mixed bag experience at Clifton Park YMCA. In terms of using the poll with 6~17 year old boys, it is very much unfriendly. Be specific, they make the rules that the boys will not have a proper change room and shower place. Kids are not allowed in men's locker room, with the excuse of "some one are not feeling comfortable with teenagers around in the locker room" ( as of Aug 2022). The boys locker room was close during summer time 2022. Starting from Sept 2022, they close the boys locker room from 2PM to facility close. Thus, the only way to make use of the locker room is during the school time. The excuse for closing the boys locker room is "due to some improper behaviors of young members, the locker room is closed from 2pm to...." ( Not per word exact, as of Sept 2022). It is a clear management failure. They managed in a way to punish everyone who use the locker room. If you have boys, and are planning to use the boys locker room and shower, do your self a favor to find an alternative facility if possible.

Very rude Aquatics Director who promotes her teenage lifeguards to also be rude (Based on previous reviews, seems like this is accepted here). Asked me to stay in the wading pool because I’m pregnant — FYI, swimming during pregnancy is healthy. Avoid this Y location if you can. Also, kind of strange that their own directors and managers leave themselves five star reviews.

I cant speak much on the facility(what i have seen looks great). But the staff handling kids for daycare, aftercare (ytime) and "camp" are amazing. Having a special needs child, i have seen first hand how great their efforts skill and compassion is.

My aunt works here and I was just there to see if my membership still is active post covid 19. Pre covid, I stopped in occasionally to play basketball. It was convient as I would let my son sat care facility that located right near where you check it. There were days it got crowded but make sure you plan accordingly if you want to use the gym, court or the pool. Good place to stay fit and healthy if you are willing to pay for the membership.

Been coming for 2 years all during Covid when it was super quiet. Mask mandate in effect - every week students playing ball (10-15) with no masks on for an hour. Told desk. They tell them to put them on and as soon as they leave the kids pull them down again. Called and left message with executive director. See if that does anything. Don’t go to the y to get Covid.
