Absolutely terrible! Sales girl was least interested in helping me finding a shoes for my infant. I understand if policy is to have socks on before trying for 10 month old baby. It’s 90 degrees out , of course I don’t have socks on him. Then she said I would have to buy the socks and then only he could try them on. I’m taking my business right across Carter’s! Absolutely terrible !

Meh. So on the one hand- they measure your kid’s feet. On the other hand, the workers complain about the owner (unprofessional), sold me shoes that were not striderite brand because “they didn’t have any in stock in that size ” and refused to give me a size that my daughter was so that I order her a pair of Mary Janes from the website because they are “family owned” so they won’t make money that way. I ordered the size of the new balances I paid a ridiculous overpriced amount for and when the striderite shoes came in the mail they were huge. Honestly not sure if they even sized her correctly since she couldn’t walk in her snow boots at all. Next time I’m going to the Albany store.

Saturday May 22nd at 5:56 we went to this store. We walked in to the staff member saying they were closed. They close at 6. Now we’ve been shopping here for 4 years because the customer service is usually good. We don’t even live in this area but we drive! So when we walked in and she simply turned us as away I was angry! We usually buy 2 pairs of shoes at the same time and it never takes longer than 10-15 minutes! As we drove away the sales person was still standing in the same spot. So we took our business over to the shoe dept instead. I won’t be returning to this store.

Can you please post your hours online or request to add it to the website? I showed up at your store at 4:55 to be told you close at 5 and had already “closed up business for the day.†Post your hours! Not to mention denying business when I probably could have conducted my business in under 3 minutes. Bad service.

I went in to have my son's foot measured because the shoes I had ordered online from stride rite were a bit too tight. When I explained this, a female employee who appeared to be the manager jumped in and agressively and defensively started explaining that all the shoes run differently and it was impossible for them to give me an accurate size. She was agitated, rude and spoke to me in quite a hostile tone from the very beginning, for no reason at all.

I showed up at 10:05 and it was not open. It was chilly so i went in another store while i waited...came back 10 minutes later to two very snobbish, unhappy employees. I asked them to measure my sons foot. She didnt even acknowledge my very friendly 14 month old and said as few words to me as possible. I asked about when i should switch him to a hard sole, they said it was basically my preference...and then didnt really give me information. Will not be returning.

I have been going to this stride rite for almost 9 years. I am a firm believer in getting your children in a properly fitted shoe. I love the people in this store. Even when it is busy, they still give you the attention you need, so if you go during a busy time you will need to be patient. You'll be glad you waited as you will get the attention you deserve when your turn comes around. It is the only place I buy my kids' shoes as they are picky and have wide feet. They need to have thier shoes fitted. I do wish they had more variety, but with wide feet, I have come to realize that their options are limited. The employees at this store always recommend what is best and we all leave happy! I hope this helps new mom's or people looking for a shoe store that will get your new walkers or older children in the right shoe.

This is my first time giving a review. It was recommended for me to go to stride rite since my 2 year old just gotten her AFOS. as soon as i sat down to get my daughter out of her stroller, the manager (im guessing she was) started to whisper something to the sells girl then they started to laugh. As soon as i walked into the store, i just felt uncomfortable since they just watched us. I had to ask them for what i was looking for, they didnt asked how could they help me. But they sales girl was since nice to my daughter, she brought out about 5 pairs of wide shoes. We tried on one pair and that was it, couldnt even try on a second pair. I would never go back here.
