My money went into an account because the place sending it imputed my account had accidentally typed the wrong numbers and it was resolved the same day thank you so much kirsten and she stayed on the phone right until the funds were transferred

I've been happier at this bank than any other bank I've ever had which in total is around tenThey hire friendly and professional staff and after a few years of doing business I have nothing bad to say about them

Overall I've been very happy with FNYFCU. I've been with them for well over a decade. The issue for this review is the Cobleskill branch coin redemption machine has been down for months (evidently the manufacturer can't deliver one to them?) and today, I went over again to try to redeem coins. Of course, the coin machine is still broken. Coinstar at the grocery store took 11.6% from me for the privilege of using their machine. I lost $14.30 in the process. Customer service tells me it's not FNYFCU's problem because I didn't use their machine - which I CANNOT USE because it's been broken FOR MONTHS. But that's not their problem. So much for the perks of using this FCU.

Heed other warnings: Avoid this bank at all costs. I opened a Savings Account and moved from Albany to Syracuse. There are no First NY Federal Credit Unions in Syracuse, so I wasn't able to make any transactions in this area. I tried calling to get my account number so I could open an online account and make transactions, but no combinations of personally identifiable information would actually get me the information I needed. They ended up emptying my entire account without any written notification.Now that they've emptied my account, they're trying to overdraft the account for inactivity fees. It's an absolute nightmare. They won't let you close the account over the phone, so I had to write a letter. I'm still waiting on confirmation for the account closure. I wish I had never opened an account with them to begin with.

My husband daughter took her Dad that has Dementia and Alzheimer’s and incompetent to this credit union and unknown to me his wife of 24 yrs they withdrew the money out of r savings 230002.00 account almost yrs ago in Ny we lived out of State and did not notify me even my lawyer told her to give me all the Money Back but has not this credit union is responsible for this should of never happened unless l received a phone call my name is on the account with my money too this is not right l want justiceToo withdraw all this money out of state for his daughter to steal it and she will not give me the money back and my husband passed away past January on her watch

Horrible telephone system! If you call the number listed, you never get the Cobleskill bank, you get some office, somewhere, and the people don't know you and typically are not very helpful. It makes it very difficult when you have a problem with your online banking because the telephone help is very poor. I see no reason why you should not be able to make a call to your local bank for assistance.
