We are very pleased with the services at Harbor Hound. Our mini-Bernedoodle is consistently groomed to perfection! The owners, Linda and Maria are always present at the premises. Katie is the groomer that we recommend. She is friendly, warm, and our puppy adores her!

I have used Harbor Hounds for years but today was definitely the last time. My 6 lb 16 year old maltese was brought in at 9:15 am. When i did not get the “ shes ready” call, i called them at 1:35. No one answered so i left message. No call back so i called them again and was told she wasnt ready yet! They said come in 15 minutes. I arrived and the place was empty. Groomer Liza had left and my dog had sissied in her cage having been left too long. Did I mention she is 16 and 5 hours is just too long for her without a bathroom break especially in a place where shes stressed. The owner lightly rinsed her handed her to me now unclean and grabbed my credit card fast as she could. Go elsewhere.

The groomer did next to nothing on my two long-haired dachshunds. Didn’t trim their paws or ears, their backsides or their ruffs. I could have given them a bath myself and saved $150.

The employees are really pleasant and they actually cut my dogs' nails, unlike most places that just seem to tip them. Found our new dog grooming spot!

I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am to the staff of Harbor Hound - my tiny Shichon (8 1/2 lbs) is truly my "baby". I was always afraid of leaving her with a groomer so I took on the job myself. She was never groomed to look like anything but a "homed" dog but at least I knew she was never hurt. I ne ver touched her tail because it was her true "glory" - until one day I felt it and realized that my "kindness" to her (she was very sensitive about anyone touching her tail so I never did - my husband brushed her everyday so I didn't do that - he neglected her tail for sure). I checked with my vet and asked for a recommendation and was told there was only one place they felt they could recommend and that was Harbor Hound. By this time Bailey's tail was one huge mat. I can't begin to tell you what a fantastic experience this visit was - Bailey came out looking like a show dog as opposed to her "homed" look by mommy. She was happy and cheerful and showed no sign of any distress. I'll definitely be returning to Harbor Hound and you should too.

Don't go here! They cut my dog in so many places. I didn't even want a haircut this short but after the first or second knick you would think to leave another half inch of length. Cuts on his legs, back, neck. Never coming here again this is horrible. My dog is traumatized and in pain.

We have an anxious 13 year old Northfolk Terrier that has both Lymphoma and a heart condition. Harbor Hound is great with accommodating his many ailments and he always comes back happy and handsome!

I recently brought my cocker spaniel for grooming. He is very difficult and had post- COVID entire body overgrown. They did an excellent job - we will be back and I would highly recommend this place!

I found Harbor Hound online, even though I pass it every day as I drive through Cold Spring Harbor Village. I took my cocker spaniel for grooming there 2 days ago. I know my dog, when I say he is difficult, I mean he is really difficult. They did an excellent job on him, he looks like a brand new dog! Shaved not only thick post - covid coat but years off him, he is really enjoying the new cut, so is the entire household. Thank you Harbor Hound! We will definitely be back!

For the first time in a year & half since her last horrific grooming experience (at a different location) where she was shaved to the skin & left w/ burns & cuts in many areas, my Samoyed Holly got groomed! When her hair finally grew back it was time for a haircut & bath, but Covid hit & it was so hard to find a place & even a mobile groomer open that would take her bc of her size. I have been taking my dogs to Hector at Harbor Hound for 15 years. There is no other groomer like him on Long Island. He is the best and my 1 year old puppy loves him so much, she refuses to leave when I pick her up and she always looks amazing. Love Hector SO much!

I have been going to this groomer for awhile, and out of no where they started giving my dog to different groomers after I asked them to please use the same person. They also cut all my dogs hair off without telling me. Very careless place. They don’t listen to there customers, and have lazy employees. Please be careful if you take your dog here.

Have been going here awhile until one day they shaved all my dogs hair off for no reason, and didn't even tell me before doing it. Very upsetting to my whole family. Recommend TLC groomer or groomingdales much better groomers.
