“I chose this Walmart Auto Care Center for my vehicle tire replacement (all 4). I ordered/paid tires and made an appointment online, drove 35 miles all the way from NYC to get there (because Walmart doesn't have any stores in NYC and not even an Auto Care Center in Nassau County which is sad). I was on time so everything went smoothly. It took little more than an hour for the whole process of changing 4 tires. I paid installation fees in the store. This installation also includes lifetime balance and rotation & some sort of roadside hazard warranty.The person who worked on my vehicle was Brian, if I'm not wrong, was nice too.I recommend this place for tire work if you live close by. I will go there again for my tire need but I wish Walmart has Auto Care Centers close to where I live. (I want to go there for an oil change, battery etc but this place is too far away, sadly).PS: I noticed, one of the tires has little lower air than the other 3. If it's leaking for some reason I will post it here. Other than that everything is fine.”

While there, Raj who was helping us noticed that Barry Lerner’s DMV inspection would be expiring at the end of the month. He promptly offered to inspect while he waited. Great service, friendly, courteous & professional assistance.”

“No sooner had the warranty on my car expired, than my next visit to the dealership for the usual periodic maintenance resulted in a list of "must do" work that would have cost me several hundred dollars. The notion that dealerships make most of their money in the maintenance and repair end of the operation was not new to me. I therefore, left the dealership and, after a year of trial and error elsewhere, I ended up at Tilden Car Care Center.
That was more than five years ago. I have not regretted my decision.
I call, make an appointment, and arrive with my car at the agreed time. The work is done correctly and efficiently, and I’m out the door without delay.
Tom, the owner, is courteous, trustworthy, and professional in every respect, as is his team. Any questions I put to him he answers forthrightly.

These guys know what they are doing . I myself work in the area and was recommended by many customers.To call my take a look at this place and sure enough.Low and behold, you guys do not disappoint me.You guys are a very great people and I respect that alot. “Returning customer on this and other cars. This time just an oil and filter change but more extensive front end work on previous visits. I called on Thursday and Tom scheduled the first appointment of the next day. He got the filter in advance as it is a specialty item thus avoiding any delay for parts on the day of service. Shawn took me first thing on Friday and was done in an hour, in and out. Alway pleasant to deal with, fairly priced and they know the history of the car so make suggestions when appropriate.Service: Oil change”

“Do honest mechanics exist? Based on my previous experience I doubted it. But likely (against all odds) I managed to find one and can't help sharing my story. I was looking some local shop to bring my car over. I had no idea of nature of the problem (some weird noise) and was prepared to do my best refusing long list of expensive repairs. But (what a pleasant surprise) it was nothing like it. Absolutely different approach:1.I was heard right away2.Got ride home3.Got a phone call in few hours 4.I was offered delivery (it would be too much, just called Uber) 5.Got honest picture of the car condition (instead of long list of problems - "your car is in good shape sir")6.The price was way below of what I expected, honest and fair7.The good aftertaste of the whole experience with Jo-Dan Highly recommend!”

“Great Bear may have proved that first impressions matter. Upon an unexpected car trouble, we urgently needed someone to take a look at our vehicle for diagnostics. After unsuccessful visits to two nearby shops, where I wouldn't have felt completely confident or comfortable leaving our car overnight anyway, we came to Great Bear, which was our first pick but farther from where we were than the other two shops. Little more than one hour later, hearing them casually say "you guys are all set" was the best thing that happened to me all day. It looks like they didn't overcharge, either, and I was glad to hear what they said happened to the car and what was done to address it, and pay whatever they charged. They have a 'presentable' waiting room that was actually comfortable to sit in, and the shop front was near and free of any signs of chaos, unlike the other two shops. I hope they stay open and be helpful for a very long time.”

“Mike and his team are awesome! Saturday afternoon, Labor Day weekend -- my car's alternator died. Just barely managed to pull into the ProLube parking lot. One team member greeted me immediately, looked at the car and told me what was wrong. Every garage was already closed for the holiday. Mike kindly invited me and my daughter to sit in their waiting area (air-conditioned!) while we made calls and waited for AAA tow truck, etc. Will always remember this kindness! Thanks, Mike!”
