On 5/16, my friend and I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Staples in Commack, NY. We came in to print a poster for a business project, but were met with blatant rudeness, condescension, and dismissive service from an associate who made us feel racially profiled and unwelcome.
Despite asking for help (as it was our first time using these services), we were repeatedly brushed off, given inconsistent pricing, and denied basic assistance. While other customers were treated with kindness and care, we were met with hostility and a shocking lack of professionalism.
Staples, this is unacceptable. No customer should feel humiliated or disrespected in your stores. I’ve submitted a formal complaint, but I’m also sharing this publicly to bring attention to how important proper customer service and training are—especially in diverse communities.
We expect better!

The employee that helped me at checkout was friendly. She offered to bag my items. We spoke about how much money I saved by purchasing the items early and on sale. Very professional.

I recently shopped at Staples and the item I wished to purchase was moved to a different aisle. An associate was in the aisle putting random items back on shelves when she stopped and guided me to the item I wanted. Most times when confronted with this type of a problem, the associate just points or calls out the direction I should go in. I have had this experience before at Staples by another associate. The staff is very helpful.
