I arrived and awaited my turn at the Guthrie Walk-in clinic. I presented with an incision on my foot that had gotten infected. I had a procedure done on 04/11 @ Schweiger Dermatology in Elmira and called to inform them of the infection. I spoke to the nurse and she said I needed to be seen for evaluation. She gave me 2 options - come to Elmira or go to my primary care physician. I did not have time to drive from Bath to Elmira before they closed so I presented at the Walk-in clinic. I was taken back to the exam room and was told that since i did not have the procedure done at Guthrie they could/would not treat me. I felt like i was being reprimanded by the way "Rebecca" came across. Very irritated with that response - I left and went home still dealing with the infection that simply needed an antibiotic for treatment.
WHAT IF I could not afford gas to travel to Elmira? WHAT IF I could not find transportation to Elmira? WHAT IF I had gone to an Emergency Room....would they have turned me away?
I have used Guthrie for MANY years and have always been more than satisfied...but to be turned away from treatment just because I did not have the procedure done there? Makes one want to change facilities to somewhere that cares about the health of the patient.
Schweiger Dermatology got me in very quickly and gave me the antibiotic that was needed.
Very disappointed in Guthrie Walk-In Clinic - Corning Centerway

Just do yourself a favor and go to well now walk in. I've been here twice and both equally bad experience. The DOCTOR I had was very incompetent and the clinical staff mainly just the one the other one it wasn't her fault she was a trainee, but that staff pre judge my circumstances with out even waiting to see what the exray would show. So I walked in here initially because I had a messed up finger. And from the jump the clinical staff particularly one supposedly the one who was actually training someone unbelievably so , but none the less she said right out the gate there is not much we can do for a hurt finger in just a rude voice belittling my reasoning to be there, my response was well if it's dislocated you can pop it back in place , or you can splint it more on that in a minute because it gets better , or obviously the most important thing which is to start a referral and conduct exrays , so obviously there is alot they can do for a hurt finger , so finally after that fiasco, the doctor comes in and she tells me it looks like a popped blood vessel keep in mind yes it was black in blue but it was also bent funny , so i asked her to order a exray , she goes idk how much a exray will show for that but she would order one anyway , next why not older a routine blood work to check for internal infection to cover all your ends , no I had to suggest a exray. She wasn't going to do that initially , And then asks me to ask them in exray to read it for her , I asked her can't you ? she said yea ...... You see where I'm going with this ???? Absolutely mind blowing. Wait for it ....... The exray showed a FRACTUR not a popped blood vessel. Imagine if I didn't do the exray and I went home and injured it even more that could have been a huge liability on there end . Btw your welcome. And of course the clinical staff never came back in either. I wouldn't either if I was that wrong. Actually I would , and I would have apologized for being wrong and say I'm happy we were able to get the bottom of this for you. Something in this world that's forgotten. Everyone makes mistakes. But no reason to be a prejudgmental jerk about it either though. Lesson learned never judge or assume anything in this world. Always go through a routine check to ensure your end is covered and do it empathy and a smile because you never when you may be In my shoes or wrong. I just have a crazy high pain tolerance so often times I don't realize I fractured something I did the same thing when I fractured my ankle barley felt it. But I know my body better then you know my body. And with my medical training I know when something is wrong. I wouldn't have come in just for something to do. Hopefully this staff learns a lot from this because as you can tell my experience was awful. I doubt they will. Btw the doctor didn't even know how to wrap a splint properly. Your supposed to stabilize two fingers together with a splint so that stronger finger could help take some of the stress of the fractured one but she argued that only one needed to be splinted and stabilized. She couldn't even wrap the one properly. I had to rewrap it and stabilize it when I left . Idk where they get these guys from but dang . I know nobody wants to work these days and they like to cut corners but common you guys are going to get sued one of the these days from not being thorough and being sloppy with peoples quality of care . Step your game up Guthrie. There's a reason more and more people prefer arnot . you guys need to clean house in there because it's a joke . For everyone else go somewhere else trust me you will regret coming here.

I arrived early for the test around 630am and waiting at the front door. I saw a person who came in later than I being escorted in from the side door. When I asked them if I can come in, the response was sounding “no, you can’t come in”. Why was I treated differently? This type of preference in treatment shouldn’t exist.

Wife was sent to urgent care by provider to prepare for an emergency surgery. After several hours in a hallway bed the doctor in the ER was ready to send us home. Reminded him of the reason we were there and he didn’t speak with us again that evening. Did see a nurse twice while we waited she made comments about getting a room, but never were we informed about being admitted. A couple hours later the doctor for the surgery got out of clinic, finally got surgery lined up at 7pm and admitted for the night. Next morning she was release without any discussion of surgery or restrictions and made walk off second floor carrying her own bags. Come to find out when doctors office followed up two days later that she should not be lifting anything. When called doctors office with severe pain and discomfort following surgery, they could only offer an appointment 3 weeks later or return to the ER.

Terrible doctor's office doesn't do their job doesn't care about the children ask them 2 months ago to fax my daughter's medical records to the new doctor's office have yet to contact us or even try to send them on top of that never called to tell us that our appointment was pushed back because they didn't have our numbers which we gave to them multiple times

If I could give one star, I would. This is the second year in a row that I have scheduled an annual visit with my provider, only to be called a month beforehand and told they were not available. Added to that, I have been scheduled to see the wrong type of provider before, so I received zero medical care but still had to pay, and have also had issues where the results of my labs were not reported to me, and had medical concerns dismissed by the staff time and time again. Stay away from this institution at all costs. The lack of professionalism and care for their patients is astounding, and I will be looking elsewhere for medical care.

I would rate less than one star if I could. Walk in clinic is good, and not usually too unrealistic with the waits. But on the other hand my primary care doctor has told me that there's nothing to be done I will live in pain everyday for the rest of my life, she said this to me when I was 20 years old. I have had nothing but issues with primary care, and obgyn. I have been forced to keep my birth control in for five years because they didn't seem my health issues as related. Now they're making me keep it in months after because of staffing issues. Receptionists are rude and cocky. I absolutely hate Guthrie

Doctors and staff are always very nice and caring. Yes, the wait time can be long but this is a walk in clinic, not an Emergency room or scheduled appointments. It is awfully convenient to be able to come in the same day something happens and wait to see the doctor. Not sure why there are all these poor reviews; people seem to just have unrealistic expectations for a walk-in clinic.
