Manager doesn’t take care of complex. Extremely run down, cops coming a lot, no snow removal, broken laundry facilities, mold. Not safe and well kept. 0 stars.

My children and I lived in an apartment at Quail Bay for 2 1/2 years, with our 2 cats. We moved in April 2019 and moved out October 2021. I honestly did not mind living there. I never had an issue with Chris Shoemaker, the complex manager. The maintenance men were always very friendly and quick to fix anything I had issues with. The only issues I had were 1) The apartment was not cleaned prior to my moving in, the carpets had apparently been steam cleaned, but that was all. The kitchen was not touched, the bathrooms were filthy, the toilets had urine stains all over them, down to the base of the toilets and there were pubic hairs stuck to them as well! I was given a $50 credit towards my second months rent, which I thought was acceptable. 2) I have yet to get my security deposit back, or any correspondence as to why I am not getting it back. I have been told that there was an issue with my forwarding address, which they have the correct address and I receive the rest of my mail just fine. Now, 5 months later I still have not received the deposit back, nor have I had my emails responded to inquiring as to such. The only claim they have made was that the carpets were damaged and stained, which was how they were when I moved in. The carpets had cigarette burns, a burn in the shape of an iron, and tears at the thresholds of the bedrooms. I wish I had been smart enough to think of documenting and taking pictures of every tiny blemish when I took occupancy.

Apartments are great, Landlord not so much. And I’m glad the owner brought up filthy apartments like the one they had me move into. So filthy to the point that I had to ask for a new refrigerator, got denied and told to clean it myself. And when I advise to just buy the refrigerator myself, he magically had a fridge in stock for my apartment. The previous tenants things were still in the closet and cabinets. Give me a second to retrieve the photos I taken when first moved in?

I would truthfully give this place 0 stars if it was possible… I started renting a 1 bedroom in august/ September of 2021 and let’s just say it was the worst thing ever.. I was harassed by the landlord when I had my boyfriend stay a couple nights a week because I felt unsafe in my apartment which I expressed to the landlord and the accusations I made were thrown aside because “the security camera said different”. My neighbor would pound and beat on the walls at early hours in the morning and once I even had to call the cops cause I was truly scared. I paid to break my lease and I left with no intentions of recommending the place to anyone…. Apartments look nice in inside but the overall hospitality of the place is garbage including the landlord.

Honestly Apts are spacious and clean. Can’t beat the value and in-house maintenance.

I lived at quail bay over a year and whenever anything Needed to be fixed, Chris made sure it was done within a timely manner. Chris is a very understanding, down to earth, man! I noticed that the reviews on here are awful and untrue, so I wanted to be sure to write something honest so that people weren’t being lead astray. I even got my full deposit back and all I did was make sure the place was cleaned up and good to go. So as long as you’re a good tenant, you will be very satisfied! :)

New addition to my last review:This manager (or whoever replied to my review) proved him/herself lier again. I lived in that apartment for almost one year. It does not need to be my social media name to use in deed. And for the authenticity of the pictures I shared, just see the google street view. Also there is GPS data embedded in the photos. You can easily find who is lying here. And be aware of that person.Original review:If I had to rate this property 6/7 months ago, I would rate it 6 out of five! Seriously, guys. When Judy Hoffman was property manager, this property was not one of the best in this area, it was the BEST of Bests. Then the new property manager arrived, Chris Shoemaker. He is the most impolite person you will ever meet. He is rude, inconsiderate and will treat you with no respect. The apartments are good but the Manager, Chris is a real pain. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Maintenance staffs are more than ok. The manager is the sole reason you should never rent this place, he treats you like he is doing you a favor by renting you the place. Very bad experience, I agree 100% with other bad reviews on this Google Review. Never make this mistake of renting at this place. One more thing. I'm pretty sure, landlord is not aware of this situation and I hope somehow someone will going tell them this fact. Chris never return the deposit money. It's been three months, I moved from there. Within this time, he lied to me more than twice that he sent the refund check. But still nothing on my post box!!! I contacted with one of the ex-resident, who moved when Chris took charge, and he told me he also faced the same problem. He didn't get his refund, and now he is looking for the landlord to share this issue.

I have been trying to contact this place for a couple days now, it seems like a really nice place but nobody answers the phone, reached out on facebook because it said there was an apartment available but when i messaged them they just marked the listing as sold and did not even message back. It breaks my heart because this place seems perfect but after reading the reviews and seeing how the manager conducts himself i am a bit hesitant, hopefully i am proven wrong.

Can't ever get a hold of the landlord. Unless you catch him outside. Emailing him is very slow takes 1 to 2 weeks to respond and never answers the phone. There's never anyone in the office to go and ask questions either.

The park manager/lanlord chris shoemaker told us carpets were going to be changed. Apon our move in date which we did have to wait for the "renovations" noticed the carpets were never changed. We followed all the rules while living there never a late rent payment as well as when we moved cleaned everything according to HIS checklist. We gave him a call to do the walkthrough which he avoided as much as he could. Calling him both phone numbers he provided us with; never to get an awenser it took us having to drive to speak with him in person and ask him to do the walkthrough with us at that time. While doing the walkthough he tried to blame old huge burn marks in the carpet on us. Which I had to remind him that those were there before we moved in as i wrote on the move in sheet as well as took pictures of proof (too bad he didnt change the carpet) when he was finished walking thorugh he said everything looked fine then we waited for our security deposit back. And waited... And waited. For it to not even come. We continued to drive to his office to work out the matter and he just would say it had to get canceled and resent.. would not recomend this place unless you expect to deal with liars and thieves. Also if u expect to get your security deposit back be ready to go to court when u move out!!

Great place to live. I have a 3 bedroom apartment .Very spacious and very affordable. Water, Heat, garbage ,2 parking spaces ,and storage including. Washer dryer available. The maintenance men are very quick to address any issues and the landlord is very fair but also no nonsense. Do what you are supposed to and be respectful and you will have no issues. I have never had one issue . I have lived their for 6 years. It's a quiet cozy place to live. Also they allow cats. Definitely would recommend.

Avoid at all cost! This place will not return your security deposit. The park manager Chris will lie to your face over and over.
