Not reputable, did not do the job as agreed and then he wanted more money, basically stealing while pretending he’s going to repair your furniture.

I would give it no stars, but That’s not an opportunity. He is in Rocky point. He is not in Cutchogue. On top of that, he wants to take your money. He has no interest in doing the work and will do everything possible to pretend that he’s doing the work when he’s not.

Jon and his company have some bad reviews. Here's my experience. We contacted him to replace three leather couch cushions. He came and picked them up immediately, took payment up front, and said it would be about a week to replace them after the material came in. My wife chose the material a few days later, he ordered it, it came in about a week, then they got started. Another week later I contacted Jon and he said they weren't quite ready, but they would be next week.
At this point I started getting a little worried, and after digging a bit I found his very negative reviews on yelp. People getting burned or scammed by him, not getting their furniture back etc.
I was worried because some of these people also mentioned that they had paid up front, which is not an industry standard.
I contacted Jon again, demanding the cushions or my money back. He told me they had been done but that he was out of town for the next few days, and he would bring them to me as soon as he got back. This was not the answer I was hoping for.
A few days later he told me he was back in town and we set up a day for him to drop them off. When he arrived with the cushions they were very wrong. The sizing, material, and style was all off. They seemed to be cushions for a different couch. I texted him to complain, and he came back the next day to pick them up and apologize. We chose a material again, he measured again, and we started from square one.
This time however, he got the material in a week, and had the cushions done a week later. They were done exactly right, fit perfectly, and the quality of the work was impeccable.
Conclusion: Jon is a good guy. He does REALLY good work, and he charges fairly. I think he just has trouble communicating and organizing his work load. Be patient, stay on top of him, and he will absolutely deliver. He is honest and fair, and he is not out to scam people. I will be contacting him again for future projects.

Not only did he replace the runners that had cracked on the heavy cherry wood dinning room table, he was able to do this from first contact to complete job in one day!
He is a professional. Offered to upgrade the runners to heavy duty ones, which we needed.
I highly recommend his services.

Excellent job! Jon stripped an old church pew that I, as a wood worker have plans to modify/create something new and modern. The work was done on time and at the estimated price. I would use his services again.

Stay away!!! He is a thief!! Dishonest and a racist and bigot on top of everything. If you want your furniture either repaired terribly or have your furniture held as ransom use Jon Caico. He changes his company names frequently and never gives receipts or written estimates. If you find him to repair your items ----- run as fast as you can!

My wife and I were extremely hesitant to write up a negative review about anyone, however for those of you smart enough to look at Yelp first ( we were not ), we felt we owe it you. All of the negative reviews you have or will read about this business and John Caico are dead on. The two positive reviews are probably written by John himself. We gave John Caico a deposit ( learned later that reputable businesses in the field do not require cash deposits as they hold your property) and he picked up our 7 pieces of garden furniture a week later. This was in June of 20. It's now July of 22 and we just got a default judgement against him in East Hampton Civil Court. We kept hoping he would make good on his promise, but he blew through the last promised date. By pure luck, we "found" our furniture at a powder coater ( John also owes him money which is why our work was never done) so we were lucky, but we are still looking for our deposit. And yes, it's just mystifying to us that people lead their lives in this fashion.Dave S.

My experience here was pretty frustrating. Long story short, the owner - Jon Caico - said it would take 6 weeks to refinish a sleigh bed. It took 14 weeks. After the first 6 weeks, he kept lying to me that it was done and giving me fake delivery dates, only to ghost me and never show up. I wasted a bunch of weekends waiting for him to show at the time he said he would, then he we text me with one excuse after the other. This happened at least 6 times. It is pretty telling that at the time I write this review, the only other review out there is from the owner himself (Jon Caico), masquerading as a customer. I saw a bunch of other terrible reviews on this site only a few weeks ago (wish I had seen them before I engaged this company) and they have magically disappeared. Not sure how. Google???I would not use him again even it it were free.

I would give no stars, but that's not an option. DO NOT USE John! He has several business names, so be very careful. He scammed my mother. She had him come to her home to appraise many antiques. She asked for a detail appraisal for insurance purposes. Made her pay upfront $750, which he cashed immediately. We had to call, text and plead for the appraisal for two months+. He was nasty in text and over the phone. Kept telling us he mailed it out....which was a lie. When we did finally receive the appraisal, it had very little detail. We had 22 items listed on a hand written two page "receipt" form. Could not make out what was what piece. This document is worthless, no insurance company would ever accept it should we need to make a claim. He was referred by a friend who had used him to refinish a small table. Friend also had problems with John when he dropped off another item for repair. It took 4 months for it to be completed and when friend tried calling to get an ETA on the piece John was rude to him too. Most often wouldn't even return texts or calls.

All the negative reviews here seem to be spot on. Jon is now working under the company "American Furniture Restoration and Upholstery Company", so beware.Jon was quick to pick up a sleigh bed I wanted refinished back in March. He said it would take 6 weeks, I asked him for 4 weeks, which he would try to accomplish. 6 weeks went by, then 8, then 10, etc. All with promises unkept. Below is just a summary.Example: He would text me on Tuesday, asking if he could deliver it on a Friday at 1pm. On Friday, I would text him at 10, asking if he was on time. His text response would be "not sure, maybe Saturday" or something cryptic like that. Then he would ghost me on text and just not show up.This happened probably 6 times. I finally got him on the phone and he admitted that he took on too many projects and others are mad too. I told him that a pro would work overtime to meet the commitments he made and he was acting like an amatuer. This went right over his head and he actually could not care less. After probably 12 weeks of this back and forth, he said he would be "finishing it this week". Why would he text me 6 weeks ago to tell me it was ready for delivery if it was not finished? Because he was just delaying, of course.I finally told him that I would come get the bed and get a pro to finish it. He "1,000 percent guaranteed it by that Saturday" and that it would be finished. Didn't happen. I finally picked it up myself in late June (his truck was apparently in the shop). The work was nice, but he kind insinuated that he was doing me a favor by doing the work. I paid $1,000 to get a sleigh bed refinished. It should be done professionally, it was not a favor.I wish I had seen these reviews before I engaged him. Again, decent work but I would never use him again, even if he did it for free.

Foot note. After much effort Jon returned said furniture. Damaged. If he'd like I can expound upon how he acted... I've got screenshots of conversation. But let's just say furniture returned undone in one and severely damaged on other. But no longer missing.
