Such a wasted opportunity.One of the great ironies of living in Bethlehem is the limited number of grocery options what we have when the local per capita income would support more options and certainly stores of higher quality. (I still can't wrap my head around how Wegman's has been kept out of the Capital Region.)The plaza where this Hannaford is located, however, defines wasted opportunity period (okay, the Pakistani restaurant Shalimar is a positive.) Hence, I only come here on the occasion I am in this part of Elsmere when coming down Delaware Avenue.This Hannaford is claustrophic once inside (largely because of a poor layout, and many aisles on the opposite side from produce devoid of shoppers that are devoted to crap you don't come to Hannaford to procure.) A redesign, and purging of many items would infinitely improve this store.The produce department makes you think: "wait; I'll drive to Price Chopper afterwards." The vegetables all seem wilting and aged (or, wrapped in plastic, possibly worse.) There is an open air "hot bar" of cooked items, that features a minimalist sneeze guard but is otherwise open to dust anything else flying around in the atmosphere. As you walk past it you are accosted with smell of oil and vinegar from meats cooked many many hours earlier that are kept hot. Not me thanks.Pluses: I can find hot Pace picante sauce here (Price Chopper only carries medium and mild, apparently their stats indicate Capital Region shoppers can't handle spice.) You can get a large sized jar of Grey Poupon Dijon here (Price Chopper at any of its many locations only carries small jars, clearly to better fleece customers.) I can also find Dalfort jams here, which Price Chopper once carried, but now I can only find here, at Whole Foods, or Honest Weight. One day I was making a dish that required lumpfish caviar (okay, it's not that extravagant, and when I lived on the west coast you could find it in any Safeway.) Not able to find it at Price Chopper or Shop Rite I did find it here (I bought the two available jars and have noted subsequently it's not been restocked.)The baked goods are sad; the deli kind of worries me. The meat selection is absolutely minimal but adequate.And perhaps the most worrisome part is the sales staff here seem to be so incredibly unhappy; several of the cashiers if not absolutely indifferent are downright hostile. There is a clear morale problem; it doesn't matter how polite you are.Now, the Colonie Hannaford is like the Taj Mahal compared to this Hannaford, but every time I come here I think "why didn't you go to Price Chopper?" And, I don't like Price Chopper much at all.

Frequently low or out of staple goods. Produce isn't as fresh at this hannaford as others. This store is less than half a mile from my house but I purposely go out of my way to visit another hannaford. Disappointed in my interactions with staff. Pharmacy is the bright spot- fast and friendly from my limited interactions. One would assume, based on the number of grocery stores Delmar, Slingerlands, and Glenmont, hannaford would step up their game.

From the outside, this Hannaford appears to be quite large, but once you're inside you get a "small store feel." Certain aspects do give that impression. Many of the aisles are narrower than I've seen in other Hannaford/grocery stores. This store's produce department is the smallest I've seen among Hannafords. With a smaller amount of each type of produce, various items could be out of stock/needed to be restocked more frequently. The pharmacy area (where I received a vaccination today) has a cramped and often crowded waiting area without a consultation area. There is a screen that can be set up when administering a shot, but when it's crowded there, it's more hassle to move the screen than it's worth. On the plus side, the store is very clean and and the employees are quite friendly. In some ways this store reminds me a bit of the way grocery stores were a half-century ago, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Small pharmacy but always have my medications in stock and the customer service is great. The people that work at the pharmacy are always nice and they’re knowledgeable & keep you very well informed

We are very grateful for the personable and professional service the staff at the Delmar Hannaford Pharmacy provides. Nick and staff are always very helpful, thorough and sensitive to our unique needs. We have lived in many areas over the years, and often become frustrated with our pharmacy experiences, but we have always had excellent service from Nick and staff!

This store scams folks out of Hannaford coupons. I had a $ 10 off coupon and as usual the coupon wouldn't come up. I had to send 4 emails to get customer service to help and they said because I had a bogo free coupon for makeup I couldn't use theirs. Yet the coupon never specified it could not be used with another coupon. The coupon I used was a vendor coupon. This store only wants to rip you off.

This Hannaford could use a sprucing up. I think my big frustration with this Hannaford is the produce. On my most recent stop, I was in need of cilantro. Although my pet peeve with all grocery stores is that I'm required to buy an entire bunch of herbs when maybe all I need is about a half or quarter, that's not my damage on this occasion. Of the 4 to 5 bunches left, all of them had "icky bits" (a technical term). They just weren't that fresh. I will admit, I came right after work on a weekday, so perhaps a morning visit would have scored me some fresher produce, but these bunches just should not have been on the shelves. A simple pick up and inspect from the produce manager would have revealed this. Although the produce section is wanting, I am pleasantly surprised about the variety of bottled/boxed organic and "trendy" products this Hannaford sells. I recently found many no sugar added (Whole30/paleo/Keto "friendly) salad dressings and sauces, no sugar added bacon, and 3 brands of dairy free yogurt (almond milk and coconut milk based). Additionally, this Hannaford stocks a small selection of organic chicken breast. I would really love to see an expansion of organic meats offered, but maybe if (we) I keep buying the organic chicken breast, they'll expand their offerings to more organic/grass-fed meats). The beer selection is not bad at all for a grocery store. They usually have Druthers (Albany, NY) and Kona (Hawaii) -- two of my faves -- and your other standard local offerings (Browns, Nine Pin, Ommegang). I've yet to see brews from the smaller local establishments (like Fort Orange Brewing), but maybe one day! Although Delmar Hannaford isn't shiny and new and could use a real kick in the pants in the produce department, it'll get the job done, for sure. The parking lot during peak times, however, is another story.

DO NOT SHOP HERE!! This supermarket refused to accept my return citing policy. Gave me a very hard time. Very overpriced and bad products, to go price chopper for your groceries. Before you waste your money at this junk of an establishment be warned! Edit they returned the items after a long rampage!
