Cadwells Cheese House is a cheese gem that has been around for 98 years. The friendly and passionate staff offer a diverse and expertly selected array of local and exotic cheeses. You will try red wine cheddars, balsamic vinegar cheddars, Stilton, Danish blue, Gloucester, Havarti with caraway or dill, NY Sharp Cheddar, Danish Havarti Dill and Baby Swiss. The cheese is delicious and the Cheddar horseradish spread is a favorite. The owners allow you to try almost anything you like and are extremely helpful in pointing out areas of interest around Chautauqua Lake. The place also stocks literature by local authors, nice gifts and crackers. History is told by a gracious family member and the air is a breath of fresh air. The place is open from Memorial Day to Columbus Day and is a must stop for you love cheese.
