Was feeling famished after 85 miles of cycling. Passed by here many times and always wanted to give it a try. The urge was unbearable today due to the stomach growls.Walked in and was going to order 2-3 slices but then was informed they only serve pies. “I can eat a horse” as the saying goes. So I’m game.Asked what was popular and was told “the Margherita Pie for $25.” After being told it only takes 5 minutes preparation. I’m sold!Fastest service ever. It only took 20 seconds for the pie to land in my hands after placing the order. One just came out of the oven and they decided to give it to me first since the customer hasn’t arrived yet. ????I picked up a slice right there and ate it on the way to the garage. By the time I placed the box in the front seat, I got to working on a 2nd slice . Pizza is really good. Thin crust and a bit of sweetness in the tomato sauce. The pizzas are cooked to order in a charcoal brick oven. I enjoyed the experience and devoured another 3 slices when I got home. It’s definitely better once it comes out of the oven hot.Job well done Grimaldi’s ??.

This is my favorite pizza joint. They cover the nostalgia factor, as well as the taste and service factor. I LOVE it. However, I remember seeing some ratio of dollar value to something a while back and it didn't sit right with me. I can't remember the metric, but I remember it raising a flag in my head. So today when I read that they are being accused of screwing over their employees of wages, that KPI/ metric and energy I felt that day seemed to now connect and make sense with the things Alvin Bragg is accusing them of. Et tu, Bruté?

This is a great place, and very local. I wish they offer slices to go but other than that, it was a wonderful experience!

The quintessential NYC pizzeria. It has great slices, crust is nice and thin and crispy and flavorful. The white sauce pizza and basil were amazing. Great for a treat or special occasion.

Delicious Coal Fired Pizza made to order to your specifications and a team of owners and employees so eager to please every customer! My family are regulars at Grimaldis Douglaston. Every dining experience that we have had at this location has been excellent. The food is always made with the freshest ingredients, cooked to our specifications and is always made and served to us with so much love. I want to give a special shout-out and thank you to both Rose and Joey. They are true restaurantors. Every time we eat at Grimaldi’s Douglaston, we get treated like family. We have an A-plus Experience Every Single Time we Dine Here.Parking: Lots of free parking just steps away from the restaurant door.

Well we decided to give this place one last try,,, and This was it!!!! Never going back again! Silverware and glasses are dirty. You totally get a sense of no one giving a sh** in this establishment! It's the same old excuses over and over again .. " we ran out of this, the delivery guy never showed up etc etc... didn't even have a shaker of oregano for our pizza, that's how bad it's gotten. All we ordered was a Caesar salad ( if you could call some extremely LIMP lettuce and croutons with a dusting of grated cheese on top and horrible vinaigrette dressing, a Caesar salad) and a pizza. The limp pizza comes out BEFORE the salad, I told the waitress to forget the salad then to be fair, she gave us the salad a few minutes after the pizza, on the house, but as horrible and limp as it was we didn't even eat it. The pizza has no flavor! Limp and tasteless !!! So I was looking forward to something sweet .. guess what? The dessert delivery didn't show up ( on a Friday night mind you) not one dessert option! NOTHING!! When there was a supermarket right across the street, if it were me, I would go across and pick up even a tub of vanilla and chocolate ice cream and offer something to my customers! But like I said, in the beginning, as soon as you walk in, you get a sense that these young workers/managers ,owners, whoever they are just don't give a sh**.. I'm actually surprised they are still opened for business with just a few table's occupied and a very large motorcycle ( which by the way is a huge tripping hazard inside the restaurant) like I said, we gave them one more shot, this was the worst yet! Excuse's excuses, dirty and a non caring attitude! It's a shame it used to be good before these people took over. When the salad tasted like a real Caesar with the real provolone shavings and actual Caesar dressing and crispy crust pizza. Pretty soon they will only be serving water and say the beverage guy never showed up lol. We done. Find a place that puts effort into running a business!

Went there for a small get together and was disappointed that they have not improved their food or service. I know it is charcoal fired pizza but the minute you walk into the place the Smokey smell is way too overwhelming. They really need better ventilation. The food was as bad as it was five years ago. Only tried the " Caesar salad" and the lettuce was limp and soggy and the dressing was not even close the ceasar dressing. The service was terrible. Waitress never asked me if I wanted anything not even a drink. Food and utensils dropped on myself and another in our party bumped in the head with a plate. Food way overpriced. Bathroom was filthy. When we got to car we all smelled as if we just left a campfire. Now have to get my suede coat dry cleaned to get the stink out. Never again.

This place has spectacular staff and food! One of the best pizzerias around. Pete treated my party great and our server Finn was so polite and helpful. The overall ambiance was very pleasant and relaxed. 6/5 stars for this place!
