Awesome staff. Took good care of our pup even though she can get a little crazy. They were all very friendly and recommend them to anyone in need of a vet.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I had a terrible day with worry about my 10 month corgi mix pup who wouldn’t walk or stand on her hind legs. I called at 9:42am to try to get her in because I have my senior dog seen at this vet and that got our foot in the door, they had a cancelation and threw us in for 1:45pm. I had a doctors appointment in Marathon and rushed home to Berkshire to get my pup, only to rush to Dryden and was running a couple minutes behind. I do not have service enough to make a phone call between Berkshire and Harford (thanks Verizon) and l called AS SOON as I had service, 1:50pm, and I was 3 minutes out and explained I was at an appointment and rushed and I’d be right there. The receptionist, Stacy(I believe her name was) put me on hold and said I’d have to make another appointment because I was too late to be seen. I was obviously upset and as a receptionist at a VETS OFFICE you’d think she would be understanding, but instead, completely changed her attitude to rude and entitled. After I explained I had been at an important doctors visit in Matathon and I had to run home to get her, I asked if she could make an exception for my PUPPY WHO WASN’T WALKING, and she got ruder, told me to go to colonial or Cornell, and continuously interrupted me when I was simply asking to be put on a cancelation list, then ended the call with “you’re being extremely rude I’m done with this phone call” and hung up on me.I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS OFFICE AGAIN!

Unkind, uncaring and impatient. I took my beloved dogs here when we moved to Dryden from Syracuse. Unfortunately it was also right at the beginning of the pandemic. I excused their detached demeanor as a byproduct of not being able to meet in person (they came to the car to get the dogs), but their distanced practices continued for over two years- far longer than other local vets. The techs who came to the car to get the dogs were unsmiling, unfriendly and did not seem to genuinely like animals. On one occasion my dog was returned to me shaking and with his backside covered in feces- NOT how I handed him over to the tech.I understand that vets need to make a living too, but their system of 1. Take your dog 2. Take your payment 3. Return your dog 4. Speak to the vet makes it clear that the focus is on the money, not the animal.I couldn't shake my feelings that my dogs weren't being well cared for so I asked for my records so I could take them back to my vet in my previous city. The comments on their records were heartbreaking- two of my dogs were muzzled without me knowing while being treated, and my anxious dog was labeled as having fear aggression and territorial aggression. He is not an angel by any means, but he has severe anxiety. Never in his 7 years has he had to be muzzled before. They were so harsh with him that the notes said that he "alligator rolled" when they tried to take the muzzle off. He was terrified of them.My trip with all three of my dogs today to the Lafayette Veterinary Clinic was a wonderful experience for me and my dogs. No muzzles, no fear, just kind and caring veterinary practices- the way it should be.

I went to get rabbies vaccination for my dog, and it was a quick and non expensive service. I liked the environment.

Dr. Wagner was so thorough and listened to every concern I had re my dog’s behavior. She did an overall heck and found something another vet had missed that was crucial to Gladdy’s physical health. She is already improving as I am able to train her more easily, due to the help of these kind and professional people.

Although we felt Countryside Veterinary Hospital & Kennels did a good job watching our exotic pet, we were charged more than we were initially told we would be charged. We were priced $13 a day for boarding when we reserved our spot several months before our trip. We were not informed that the price increased to $16 a day between the time we called and boarded our pet. We thought it was unprofessional that we weren’t immediately informed of this significant increase in price. When we asked why we weren’t informed, we were told that they couldn’t keep track of who they had quoted before the price change, although they clearly have records of who scheduled their pet to come in. We ended up spending about $100 more than we anticipated, a tough break for a college student. The cherry on top was when we were given our pet’s temperature monitor, we found that it was no longer working when we returned home. We won’t be returning and have told our friends with pets to be wary of this place.

Bad business: behavior of a girl scout or premeditated actions?Over a six months period my dog was misdiagnosed (nothing to worry assertion) several times at $100 per visit until a costly surgery became necessary. I was quoted a price for the surgery, but after the surgery I was charged 50% more and charged extra for post-surgery visits. It should be noted that Dr. Wagner have NOT seen my dog after the surgery and her instructions to personnel on removal of drainage and stiches were based on a PHOTOGRAPH sent via e-mail. Having several dogs, I was a grateful customer at this office for over a 25 year period. The office had excellent reputation and the previous owner would never allow this to happen. The new owner is clearly greedy and heartless. Will find a new vet for my dogs. Want to share my experience with other potential customers

I would not recommend countryside anymore. The staff can be rude when you ask them questions about your dog and don't care about your animal. They knew my dog had a UTI and never prescribed her any antibiotic. They're a waste of money. I'm glad I got a second opinion from other people.

BEYOND DONE. Our family pet who is seen at this vet started having blood in her stool about 3 weeks ago. We called for an appointment (was none) and the only advice they gave us was to feed her rice and chicken for a week. We did what they said and things only continued to get worse. We called back and they let us know there was no way for them to see her for an appointment or last minute and that we’d have to take her to emergency care. We took her to Colonial, drained our savings and needless to say she was put to sleep the night before last and had lymphoma. Our family is so hurt, and the neglect from this place affected our pet on so many different levels. Just wondering if her blood test and stool samples were ever taken, bc HOW

These ladies are fantastic here. I just moved here and my rescue pit Bailey was abused. She’s my baby and she’s pampered. I would never board her but I had to take a flight. She’s a very submissive and nervous(but super sweet) dog. I call to check in on her twice a day. ( I also cry everyday I don’t have her). I can tell by the info they report on her that they care and pay attention. On top of that they noticed she needed updated vaccines I wasn’t aware of and Did them while she’s staying there. I’ve worked at kennels before and they are 3x cheaper than most. They made this neurotic dog dad feel at ease while I’m away from her. Ty ladies for taking care of my little girl.

I took my dog there for an appointment a few weeks ago, and was left with such a bad taste in my mouth. We have been going there since my dog was a baby (about a year now), and while I haven't been super impressed, it has been fine enough. After we left from the last visit, however, I have switched vets. My dog has behavior problems, and I don't dispute that. I have been working really hard with him and am working with a trainer and a behavioral vet. I brought in my dog with a muzzle. When we got there, they acted like he was a monster. The vet asked him if I gave him a tranquilizer, when she never requested that I do so or prescribed one. They had me put a second muzzle on him and the vet then said "I don't know how this is going to go."They took him back and did what they needed. When they brought him back out, they gave him to me like he had cooties. There was no report on how he did until I asked. Then the vet said, "he did much better without you there." That was it. I did not get the feeling at all like they cared about my dog.The less than 10 minute visit cost over $300. Just for a blood test, a urine test, and a stool test. When the results of his testing came in, the tech called, not the vet. There was no follow up.I would not at all recommend this vet, especially if your pet has special needs. I am happy to be done with that veterinary practice!
