The white cashier thought I was stealing a treat because I was giving my dog the treats that were outside for free. Rude staff overall.

This is a big pet supply store in a prime location. I've never personally used their grooming or boarding services but everything seems clean. I usually see a few pets coming and going for their grooming. Their doggy daycare doesn't seem to be used often as I only see one or two dogs there ever. Their prices for dog food are fair - usually at least $1 cheaper than their competitors and that's what I mainly come for. They also offer a rewards system for each bag you buy.

Called last month about boarding my dogs here while I was traveling but was told they couldn't board my dogs until meeting them first and doing an evaluation. This leads me to believe that they can't handle problems if something arises.

Didn't cut my dogs nails short enough so a 100 dollar cut turned into a 1000 dollar cut after she tripped and broke the nail at the base. These people caused pain for my dog and my wallet. DONT GO HERE

NEVER bring your cat there to be groomed! I specifically asked to have my cat groomed just a little bit shorter then I usually do (I have been here 4 times) NOT a tiger cut, I SPECIFICALLY said to the guy at the desk..NOT a tiger cut...I went to pick her up and they completely shaved her...here I am two weeks later, I have had to bring my cat to the vet because they cut her and it is infected...when I went to the store to speak to the manager...they took zero responsibility for any of this and tried to blame me!!! The customer!!!...Please do not take your cat or dog to be groomed there....terrible service, and worst of all this has costed me a small fortune!!

Its unfortunate as I've never felt compelled to write a review, but I felt the need to share my experience and say beware. I have been taking my 3 long haired cats to get groomed for well over 5 years at happy paws. Recently the last few visits have been an issue. Mainly relating to being accused of bringing in a broken carrier. Let me back track, happy paws is literally 4 blocks from my house so mainly for convenience we have taken our cats to get their biannual groom. There have been numerous incidences with each of our visits.. 1st incident after two years of service was we took our cat to get their regular groom: wash and blow out.. we picked them up and they are shaved completely naked, Like how? Second incident the cat is picked up from a full groom and is covered in literally diarrhea, third they broke the zipper to my brand carrier. All three occasions happy paws made right.. today we go pick up the cat and was told we sent a broken carrier. ( carriers that are only used twice a year since 2019 to bring the cats to happy paws). Which is nearly impossible as the bottom part of the carrier if broken would be have never supported the weight of my 15 lb Maine coon.. instead of offering to correct this, happy paws manager continually responds, "I don't know what to tell you"... he then says he has footage of the carrier just breaking, I then ask to see it.. he tells me he'll send it to me in a few days, then as conversation continues it turns into a week and I'm busy now and won't get to it.. then proceeds to say he is taken aback as to say how dare I question him regarding his word that the carrier just broke. The zipper appears to have been forcefully pulled. I mean, I'm seeing a trend here.... The manager Allen needs help in customer service and in keeping long time customers. He should also either show the footage if he is in fact at no fault. The carrier, with 5k Amazon review is not my issue, my issue is being accused of bringing in a broken carrier and then having the audacity to flip the script as though I did something wrong.. like dude I brought the 2 cats in with 2 carriers and left with 2 cats and 1 carrier. In short, I'd rather find a new groomer whose interest is in creating a relationship and has integrity to speak the truth. All of this and that could be avoided if he just showed the footage.. Let's see if he'll send me the footage, I think not. Failing at customer service.

When someone calls you a liar and a irresponsible pet parent, yes I will curse you the f$!? out! Your staff refused to acknowledge that their might have been an error in communication and that is where the problem started. When I told the gentleman with the tips that I had called the day before and confirmed his exact words to me were, "that is not true as Nathan was on staff and he would have relayed that Information to me." Let's not skip over the fact that despite the fact that two dogs were scheduled you only had one on the books. As for threatening your staff, that is laughable! I said that Quincy was an a****** because the dismissive look on his face and statement that I was an unfit pet parent was the problem. Like I said to them "why the f/@" would I travel from the Bronx without the vaccine record if I had been told it was missing. I showed them both proof on my phone that I called the store the day before (as you guys do not have a formal confirmation process). Guess your staff left a little out of that conversation as well. If your staff is too incompetent to tell the customer what they need that is on you. Who walks around with their pets' vaccine cards?! As stated, you need not worry about my darkening the doorstep of your establishment and have advised my friends to do the same. Happy Paws can go kick rocks! Have a nice life! If you are looking for a reputable groomer where the staff treats you with dignity and respect, as well as actually confirms appointments (rather than having to do so yourself), might I suggest Biscuits and Bath. PS I find it laughable that your employees said I threatened them. As for your staff suggesting to call the vet, I call b******* on that! All they said it was not their responsibility to remind me to vaccinate my dogs, which was not the issue. Once again, even in your response you failed to acknowledge any wrongdoing on the part of your establishment, which explains why your staff behave the way they do!

Not sure what has happened to this place. I have had my cat groomed with a lion cut here a few times and it came out great. Today, after providing a reference picture of my cat to the groomer and discussing it--he even asked me to text it to him--it came out totally botched. The mane was taken off entirely! I called to see what happened. The manager admitted that the cut didn't look at all like the reference picture but didn't offer any way to make it right, no refund or discount off future service - nothing. he said the service was done and it was just a matter of preference. He said he's gotten bad haircuts in the past and doesn't expect any discount or money back when that happens. I know mistakes happen, but there was no accountability whatsoever. You can look at the pics and be the judge.

They are amazing! We groom our Maltese only with Lidia, she is the best one. A girl at the front desk advised for our allergic doggy great food, she eats with a pleasure and feels much more better. All stuff is very hospitable and attentive

Lydia made my golden retriever's feathers look soft and fresh. He's been so soft to the touch for three days now. We were pleasantly surprised from the start, as instead of acting scared and nervous of being left in a new place, Waffles immediately followed her into the grooming area. She called him a sweetheart and gave him the love and attention we know he deserves.

So I find it very sad I love athenas groomer Sam she is absolutely amazing and so good and loving with my pups .. but the receptionist ruins the whole nice experience by being rude !!! To the point I don’t want to have to deal with her again. Well I will edit my post because I appreciate the fact that they reached out to find out why I was upset. Which at least makes me feel like they care. I do not want to make one bad experience with one person ruin that the rest of the staff has been amazing and my pup is always extremely well taken care of. I couldn’t imagine anyone but Sam grooming her
