When frequenting this establishment, you're guaranteed to buy something Irish related. Lots of touristy junk as well as some nice stuff worthy of their name. Side note.....there is a plentiful selection of European chocolates for sale......and they are goooooood! Enjoy!

We went on a day trip to East Durham and this is one of the shops we specifically put on our itinerary. The outside of the shop is so cute. Inside they had all the Irish goods you could ask for including really beautiful sweaters and jewelry. We got some things for our house and bought some Irish chocolate bars that I remember living when I was a kid visiting in Ireland. Great place to get gifts for folks.

I'm not sure what the antisocial staff in this store means by "Guaranteed Irish", because most of the items in this store are clearly marked "Made in China". And those are the ones where the imprint is embedded into the porcelain or otherwise stamped on in a way that it could not be removed. I discovered a small ceramic figurine there that I had seen for sale at the Dollar Store right up the road. Outraged, I left to go and buy it at the Dollar Store. I returned to "Guaranteed Irish" to show it to them and ask why the identical item - a cheap, $1 trinket clearly marked "Made in China" was being peddled as at their shop as a "guaranteed" Irish import at (sitting down?) 9 TIMES the price! The response I got from the nasty sales clerk was: "You don't have to shop here if you don't wanna." So, this cheesy tourist trap gets awarded 1/2 of a star for their unfriendly "customer service", and the other 1/2 star for value.

Whenever we visit East Durham, we love to stop into Guaranteed Irish. Great place to pick up gift items including imported food items like teas, chocolates, cookies, oatmeal, sauce mix, etc. Huge selection of clothes from baby sizes up to adults. Beautiful jewelry items, wall decorations, perfumes, milestone gifts for weddings, baptisms, first communion & anniversary. Guaranteed something Irish for everyone.
