The transition was flawless and all of my dog's health needs were met. Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. K is very knowledgeable and explains things thoroughly. He does not push unnecessary procedures on you to make money. Dr. K is a great vetinarian and I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area.”

“What a phenomenal experience at this amazing clinic! Between the staff and Dr. Branding, everyone was amazing. I came in for the first time with a stray cat, that had been outside on her own with no help in sight. I made her an appointment first thing in the morning, took her in, got all of her shots and bloodwork, and made a spaying appointment. From start to finish the ladies in this office couldn't have been better! I have the utmost confidence that my new little one will receive the best care possible. “Mid Island Animal Hospital is a Veterinary practice and hospital that goes above and beyond. I wanted to share this experience so others, who love their animals, would know about how wonderful the care is at Mid Island Animal Hospital. I have been taking my golden retriever puppy there since she was 12 weeks old. Recently, my 17 month old dog stopped eating and was just sleeping all day which was not like her at all. I thought maybe she had a stomach parasite or some other simple issue. We were taken that same day and seen by Dr. Stephanie Acevedo. Dr. Acevedo was extremely professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and compassionate. She understood we were in shock and upset with the test results and she took the time to explain everything several times. She never rushed us out or made us feel bad about asking so many questions. She was so knowledgeable and compassionate. She was just great with my dog. The dog required emergency surgery and Dr. Acevedo arranged everything with the surgeon so that the procedure went smoothly. She guided and helped us through this difficult and stressful time. Thank God that the surgery was a success and my girl will be just fine. Huge thank you to Dr. Acevedo for saving my girl. I must also add that the Vet techs and front office personnel are just amazing. They treat both pets and families with kindness and respect. From beginning to end, this practice takes care of and goes above and beyond for their patients. Your family is in good hands at Mid Island Animal Hospital. I cannot recommend Dr. Penyy at The Cat Doctor highly enough! My 16-year-old Chinchilla Persian, Apple, recently had surgery, and the care we received was absolutely world-class.

What truly sets Dr. Penyy apart is her incredible heart and selflessness. I’ve seen her kneeling on the floor for a long time just to carefully remove Apple’s sutures one by one, showing zero ego. She once even accidentally bumped her head because she was focusing so intensely on examining him, yet her only concern was making sure we weren’t worried! She genuinely puts the well-being of the cats above everything else.

Despite her busy schedule, she is always responsive—answering questions late at night or on weekends with professional guidance. She remembers every detail of Apple’s health stats, which gives me so much peace of mind.

As an artist, Apple is my muse, and I picked up watercolor specifically to capture the beauty of cats. I was so moved by Dr. Penyy’s dedication that I painted a miniature watercolor of her caring for Apple. When I gave it to her, she was so surprised and called it 'so artistic'—her reaction meant the world to me.

My husband and I feel so lucky to have found such an amazing, compassionate doctor in our corner. Thank you, Dr. Penyy, for everything you do for the Apple of our eye, Apple! ??❤️

“Dr. Wallach is truly the vet everyone needs. He takes his time and speaks to you before and after seeing your pet and goes over diagnosis and prognosis in so much detail. My dog originally had hip dysplasia in both hips. I elected to have her get left FHO in April 2024 when she was still young. She goes to PT weekly Tuesdyas and Fridays ever since then. She also recently had right FHO about 2 weeks ago as well.

The entire surgery team and physical therapy team has been very amazing and supportive the entire way. Victoria and Riley both answer any questions I have and give recommendations as well as show me how to do all the at home exercises for my dog.

“I found a kitten the mother abandoned 2 1/2 weeks old I spoke with the staff about where I can bring her. They spoke to the Dr's there and called the animal rescue that was coming to there office that I could give to them. I have known them from Queens and they are the most wonderful caretakers of all animals. I traveled an hour from Queens and would have traveled many more hours because of there loyalty to all pets.”

“I recently moved to the Garvies Point area with my 13-year-old, 100-pound Chocolate Lab, Brewski. Instead of taking him back to his longtime veterinarian in Oyster Bay, I decided to visit Brookville Animal Hospital and explained my situation that he was an older dog. He helped me right away. The staff was incredibly gracious and accommodating.

Dr. Mark Plunkett evaluated Brewski and provided exceptional care. Some time later, when Brewski’s health began to decline, Dr. Jeff Krasnoff kindly offered to come to our apartment to check on him. Sadly, the morning before Dr. Krasnoff’s visit, Brewski had to be rushed to an emergency hospital, where we had to make that difficult decision that no animal lover should have to go through.

Throughout it all, Dr. Krasnoff reached out to me during that difficult time and showed remarkable compassion and professionalism. They sent a beautiful handwritten condolence letter afterwards which was first class. Ensuring he has proper health care is important and all the people at Harborside are truly fantastic, from the receptionists to the tech supports to the vets themselves. We have been bringing Winston in to Harborside for nearly 3 years since we adopted him and every visit they treat him with the utmost care and concern. “Today we said goodbye to Kitty. Dr. Denise and her staff , primarily Kenny and Joe helped to make Kitty’s passing to be a loving time between Kitty and ourselves. For three years, Dr. Denise and her staff kept Kitty healthy. Kitty came to us, so very sick and then last year he had his ear removed because of cancer. I don’t believe that kitty would have survived as long as he did without the love and care from Dr.Denise and her staff. Thanks again”

“Dr Tanaka is the best! The insurance does cover a decent amount well visits blood work. Meds are always high in every vet office. They treat Kilo so sweetly. When Petco left shampoo on him it caused chemical burns. They were so amazing. I was so grateful that they calmed him as I was a mess. Definately reco them”
