Choosing Zippy Shell was a game-changer for our local move. Their crew's attention to detail and efficient handling of our belongings left us impressed. They turned a potentially stressful day into a smooth operation. Their commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction shines through. If you're looking for movers who genuinely care, Zippy Shell is the answer.

WORST moving experience!! My girlfriend and I hired them for a long-distance move from PA to NY. The salesperson promised us that the shell will be delivered to our apartment and be unloaded from there, however, after they already charged us the second payment, they said they would have to do a “loose unload” where they unload the shell (while cutting open our lock that we put on the shell) and load it into a truck and then unload the truck again at our apartment. We hired Zippyshell to decrease the amount of unloads we do so our belongings do not break. Zippyshell gave us multiple excuses as to why they had to do the “loose unload” (which was not in the contract we signed) but they did not care. Also, we woke up at 7am to go to the warehouse in LI to unlock the shell for the movers. If that wasn’t frustrating enough, they took over a week to get us our COI correctly and delivered it on the morning of the move. And as a warning, the customer service department is absolutely useless and will tell you that they put an “urgent” request and still take time to get back to you. The company has been an absolute nightmare while moving and highly recommended that people look elsewhere for long-distance movers.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Long distance move from LA to harlem NY. The company is not upfront with their extra fees. We were supposed to have our stuff delivered today between 9am and 12 after it has been seating in a warehouse for about a week. The movers called to confirm and let us know they were on the way to get the stuff. Then, just about an hour after than zippy called to cancel the delivery. We have been leaving on the floor for about 10days now. With all the surprise fees we got, this was the most painful. The lack of clear communication from zippy is the most upsetting part and now we are left with the only option of hiring our own movers to go get our stuff.

Absolutely the WORST COMPANY. My container was scheduled for delivery on Friday... called all day foran eta and was told by 7 different people on thephone that it was coming and would be there by8pm. At 6pm I received a text message that mydelivery was rescheduled to Monday. What?!? Wellit's Monday and I've been calling for an eta andguess what? No answers. Still don't have mybelongings. I'm in a home without furniture andcannot even get a hold of anyone. My husbanddrove to the Hauppague, NY location since theirlocal number isn't posted anywhere and guesswhat?! It's closed. Not a person or vehicle in sight.Where is my container? Please do not use thiscompany. Absolutely the WORST COMPANY.

I used them for our recent move and initial drop off of the container was HORRIBLE first off they did not call to see where the container would be dropped off and proceeded to say the “only place” was taking up 4 spots because they did not load the container on the truck correctly. Was then told if I needed to put it else where they would have to come back another day.. obviously not an option when you are moving soon. Then I got charged a fine from my apartment as a result of the container taking up multiple spots. I have called multiple times to get the fine refunded and was told there was nothing they could do and it was not their fault. So screw this company and I would have rather used pods. Do not book with them.

This was an absolutely horrible experience that added stress and uncertainty to our move. None of the original details were accurate. We were expecting a call from Zippy shell/the container on the websites, so we planned accordingly with our neighbors and when the pack-rat driver arrived, he pulled out the cable lines from our neighbors and then would not position himself in an appropriate spot until we pleaded with him and gave him cash. THEN the shell was not picked up the day that we were told in fact it was picked up two days later which delayed our move, upset our neighbors, and cost us more money. THEN I was told the shell would arrive at our destination in 10 - 12 days. However it took over a month and every time I called to find out where the container was there Zippy shell representative had no idea and told me she would email me that evening with details. It took 4+ of these conversations to finally figure out where the container was. I am beyond upset with this service and I will make sure to write reviews and tell people that I feel scammed and taken advantage of. This is not the way to do business.

I would like to share my experience with the world concerning my cross country move. I don’t usually write horrible reviews, but this story needs to shared. From the beginning to the end this company zippy shell did not support us as we thought. I have worked with compassionate and understanding places that made sure I always felt supported even when something in the services has gone wrong. I worked in customer service for years when I was younger and know what it’s all about. Now, I’m a social worker and know how I should get treated. Firstly, I was told my things would arrive at my destination in TWO weeks, they didn’t call me regarding a delay. I didn’t get my things until a month and 2 weeks later. I waited to call, and they NEVER called me. Without receiving my things yet. Randomly, They proceeded to take insurance money out of my account without my authorization at 1 am. They did this because they were watching out for themselves. That’s when I called, after a month of waiting in a whole other state. Imagine this, my family didn’t have their things (clothes, shoes, furniture, food, documents) in a whole other state for a month and 2 weeks and these people (Zippy) didn’t call to tell us nothing ! That stung ! Lastly, they put all my things in the wrong container (at the origin) and didn’t inform me until my stuff was at it’s warehouse destination. They called me and tried to reimburse me 100$, my wait was worth 100$ people? For a 5000$ move lol. They said if they couldn’t switch my things out into another container that fit the moving truck, that I wouldn’t get my stuff for another month. The manager still offered me 100$ reimbursement for this heartache I was suffering! The levels of stress my family and I faced were unimaginable. We were already terrified of moving so far, and these people made the experience so much worse. Without any choice, We agreed to have our things removed for a faster move! They had to take all my stuff out at the warehouse (far as hell from my house) to put it into the right container. They didn’t have a supervisor at the ware house, so my family had to drive 40 min out to supervise the transport of our things from one container to the other. Because the containers are not air controlled, Our things smell now from being there for so long. We always had to call them, they never called us. We were treated less then and not treated like a priority until we had to stand up for ourselves! The structure of this company is horrendous. We called and called for compensation, for a 5000$ move and guess how much they gave us back? After we called a billion times and waited more then a month? Chump change ............. these people are unprofessional!Service: Out-of-county removals

WORST COMPANY, DO NOT USE! We are moving cross-country and booked our zippy shell well in advance. We were supposed to get our zippy shell delivered to us yesterday. We got a the day before confirming they would be here between 10:30-11:30am. 11:30am rolls around, no one is here. We try calling zippy shell, we are on hold for an hr and finally put our number in the "call back list" for them to call back. While we wait, we find out they use HireAHelper so we call them. We sit on hold for another 30 min...finally get someone on the phone who is able to get a hold of our driver. We find out there was a "problem" with the moving truck and he wont be here until 2pm. Ok, 2pm rolls around, still no Zippy Shell. We call the driver (bc I had made sure to get his number) and he says he doesn't know who told us 2pm but he wont be here until at least 4-5pm AND WITHOUT OUR ZIPPY SHELL! He says that he is in a regular moving truck with another customer right now loading their stuff. He says he couldn't fit the zippy shell in the truck so now they want us to inventory all of our stuff (3 bedroom house w/ basement), load it onto this moving truck (with other customers belongings on the same truck!), he would drive it to some location, unload our stuff and then reload it onto a zippy shell. This is NOT what we were told we were getting. We were supposed to get our OWN shell, load it ourselves, make sure everything was packed appropriately and lock it OURSELVES. We FINALLY got a call back from Zippy Shell after calling a second time at 2:15pm. Shaniqua told us they have no way to resolve this for us and they did not have a reason as to why this was occurring just stating that "loose loads" sometimes occurred and there was nothing they could do about it. We told them this is unacceptable and asked if they could deliver our OWN shell tomorrow. We were put on hold for another 45min and then told they would call us back. We got a call from our driver an hour later saying that the move had been cancelled on his end....at this point we STILL had not heard anything from Zippy Shell. WE ARE MOVING CROSS-COUNTRY AND HAVE A HOUSE FULL OF BOXES!! We now have to rent a 26 ft moving truck, tow one of our cars behind it and then drive our other car separately cross country... thanks Zippy Shell for royally screwing us over! We DO NOT recommend using Zippy Shell as they are completely unreliable and do not deliver the services advertised!

Scheduling was relatively easy and that was about the extent of the pros so far. They were the only container moving company that goes to our remote moving locatoin.

The estimated delivery date is to the local warehouse. There were no available appointments for ~~A MONTH~~ to actually deliver to my door. Despite having a "guaranteed" delivery date to the warehouse, you cannot schedule home delivery until it arrives at the warehouse.

They picked up my container on December 11 for an interstate move to Delaware. It sat on long island until December 27. They didn't compensate me for missing their delivery deadline by 2 business days. They ruined my Christmas in my new home. They didn't care. Don't use a company that doesn't care about their clients.

Getting the unit delivered was easy, having it removed seems to be impossible. Have called over and over and over again and yet it is still there on my front lawn. Was even told by Amy that it would picked up on 12/19 between 11:30-12:30 and yet here it still sits.

I cannot seem to get anyone from the company to call me back. I was told my shell would be dropped off Friday Dec 7/took off work to be there, the shell was not dropped off. I contacted Zippy Shell multiple times via call and email on Friday not on person answered. My shell was randomly dropped off on Saturday the 8th. When it was dropped off there was broken wood all over the top of my furniture throughout the entire shell, my leather couches are completely destroyed (there's NO way the climate is controlled between 65-75 like I was told) and there was a black film/residue ALL over all of my furniture, ruining some of it. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. It is now Monday evening I have left countless emails and voicemails and not one person will call me back.
