This is by far the best dealership around. The maintenance shop is very well managed and organized. Victor was especially helpful when I brought my car in with a chip. He fixed it on the spot and it looks wonderful! I can't even tell anything happened to the paint. Katie at the service desk is amazing, very professional and knowledgeable. Such a great team at this place, thanks for all you do!

Went in for an ac vent issue, took them only 30mins to find out what was wrong. My warranty sadly ran out cause the salesman told me the wrong information when I bought the warranty. They gave me the diagnosis and it would of cost way too much to fix. Had my brothers dealership fix it and what they told me wasn’t the issue at all. They falsely diagnosed my car and wanted to scam me. Wasted my time and money because of them and refuse to ever own another VW and go back to the services. Don’t recommend them at all!

Edit : They got us in to fix the problems we had at no cost of ours ! We finally feel better about our purchase and we are very appreciative.
Terrible service terrible customer service, we bought a 2 year old vehicle from them and have had all these small problems with it that of course are not covered by the warranty’s . A bunch of hundred dollar clips that are broken and need to be replace . The fender somehow just popped off while driving on the highway and got caught under the wheel , 2 months after buying the car . The speaker needed to be replaced they told us it did not and only the Bluetooth module needed to be replaced , they fixed that and the speaker still needed to be replaced . The plastic seatbelt covers broken , the tow hitch cover Broken, a clip on the back tail light broken. It takes weeks to get in for service and they are not friendly or understanding of their own faults . We are taking the car in to a different dealer ship for service from now on . But i would Not recommended them , they are obviously struggling and just pushing cars out before thoroughly looking at everything .

This was my second new-car purchase from Spencer Clarke at Ide. Repeat customer should say a bit by itself. My first purchase was easy (for me, maybe not so much for the dealer -- I wanted a particular car and they found it many miles away and brought it to Rochester to make the sale) so Ide was my first stop while looking for a new golf. 2024's 6-speeds are purportedly the last ever from VW and so even harder to track down if you're seeking a specific color or feature set. I'm still kind of frugal, so I shopped nationwide for the new car, and Ide was competitive against other dealers everywhere. I get the impression Spencer is quite knowledgeable about the whole Volkswagen lineup but he is particularly an enthusiast for all things GTI and R. If you're in the market for a hatchback I don't think you'll find a better salesperson.

Ide service department has been my go to for years. Jim Redden knows his stuff. The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. They even gave my kid a VW hat…just because. They really take pride in what they do.

I've had all of my 2012 Beetle's servicing done by Ide. I like having VW trained mechanics working on this car. Service Advisors like Jim Redden are a huge asset due to their vast knowledge of these cars. Katie at the service desk is also very helpful. Service Mgr Joe is excellent with his follow up. Ide VW is a great place to do business.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
Not to mention I had to take my car to a real mechanic after IDE messed up my car.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR WITH THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
We brought our Beetle in to be serviced and listed multiple issues with our theories after googling. They had the car for almost a week before looking at it at all, drove it 26 miles and called to tell us to come pick it up because nothing was wrong. We had paid for a brake check so we asked about the brakes and they said that maybe there was a pebble or something in them causing the noise we heard, but they “took the wheels off and did a thorough inspection” and didn’t find anything wrong with the brakes.
The car did every single one of the things we brought it in for on the ride home that night. We left for a vacation a few days later, so we left it in the driveway and called them back when we got home over a week later. They told us to bring it back in. This time, they had it for almost 2 full weeks before doing anything. When they did finally look, they found every issue that we complained about the first time and had provided them with when we dropped it off weeks before. And on top of that, we now magically needed almost $1800 of brake work for the brakes that they had “inspected” weeks earlier and deemed perfect, for a car that sat in the driveway for most of the time in between. The parking brake had dropped and shredded the brakes which was the noise we told them about weeks before.
That was bad enough. But then, after doing $3800 worth of “work” on the car that included a new parking brake (it’s a manual transmission), we picked the car up, drove home, parked it in the driveway, went inside for dinner, and heard a giant crash as the car smashed into our garage door causing damage. The parking brake was pulled all the way up at the time of this incident. We had to pull it so far up that we had to move the center console to make room for it before the car would stay put.
We called to complain and reluctantly agreed to bring it back in for them to look as they refused to refund our money without seeing it. We didn’t want them touching the car again, but didn’t see any other option as we wanted a refund for all or part of their “work” as we now have to have our garage door fixed.
When they called to give us an update, they took zero responsibility for any of the horrendous service we received, the condition of our car, or the incident involving the garage door. They said it was entirely our fault and everything was fixed up to Volkswagen standards. They told us we should have read the user manual for our car before parking it and then left the manual open to the page on how to park a car on the front seat when we picked it up. They offered to send their garage door guy over to assess the damage but didn’t offer to pay for it. We declined as we don’t want anyone associated with them touching anything that belongs to us ever again. Over this entire ordeal we spoke with both Jim and Joe and neither were professional or helpful. It was a constant onslaught of gaslighting, condescension and lack of accountability.
Save yourself some money and take your car to a reliable mechanic from the start. The service department at IDE Volkswagen is incompetent at best.

They take good care of Mom. They gave me 2 quotes for tires; good and better. Customer service guys are attentive and friendly. We paid $50 more to come here instead of a discount tire. VW offers free road hazard if you buy tires here and $25 rotation. I would come back. PLUS they have WiFi and a room to work if needed.

I took my Golf R in for an inspection. After 1hour and 45min of waiting I was told it failed due to the inside of all four tires being “bald” and the side wall of one being severely damaged. They then tried to sell me new tires.
Problem was none of the tires (across the full width had less than 3/32 while failure is less than 2/32 per NY rules. Also the severe damage was a bit of scuffing on the sidewall from one autocross event. Again the text is still visible and should not result in a failure. Lastly the tires were 80% more expensive than the same tires mounted at Dunn tire or via TireRack.
Terrible service and attempted rip off. Never going again!
