The East Rockaway NY Post Office is one of the best Post Offices I have come to know. Walter, the postmaster is the most helpful, knowledgeable & dedicated Postmaster I ever had the pleasure to do Business with. He is thorough & not only does what he says but also follows up with you. Give the Man a raise!!!

The clerk Ernestine did not answer any question I had just looked at me . I don’t how they have her working the counter. People waiting watched the entire transaction. I’m bringing my receipt to another post office to check the postage that I paid . Next she went into the back to look for change while I waited there and 2 people on line she just circled around the back area . She forgot what she went looking for because she asked me why are you still here . I said my change . She went to back to find someone that could help. He gave her the change and she handed to me and it was wrong . It was too much. I put the 4 dollars too much , back down and she starts in with me claiming I threw at her . I was like you got to be kidding me. Rude , Rude and Rude . That is why the post office is in the shape it’s in . Place is a joke . Oh before she went in the back to look for my change she took money out of the register and put in her pocket to walk in the back . Who does that? I don’t who is watching the place here .

I had a great experience at the East Rockaway post office. I was mailing all of my wedding invitations and wanted to hand stamp them. Stephanie answered all of my questions and showed me how to hand stamp them. She was helpful and explained everything. It seems all of my invites were received and maintained their integrity due to the hand stamp. This office has a more “mom and pop” feel than the larger post offices. I highly recommend the East Rockaway post office!

This is by far the worst post office on Long Island. There is never enough parking. The employees are disgustingly rude. You will end up waiting in line for over 20 min and get nothing done. Avoid at all costs.

Warning : Ernestine will purposely give you the wrong postage / wrong shipping service. Be prepared to have your change thrown at you with ZERO interaction. You’ll have a conversation with yourself because she never responds, Never looks at you and treat you like a piece of trash. Shame on the USPS for putting her on the front line. Disgrace. She knows what she’s doing. Be careful.

There’s a worker there with short hair, missing tooth, and hand tattoos that gave service so terrible I left and went to UPS instead to ship my package. I would recommend actually evaluating who is employed there properly.

Ernestine is the most unprofessional worker. She threw a pen at me. Grabbed the package out of my hand. Was listening to profanity music on her cell phone. How could someone represent the us postal service like this. She doesn’t deserve this job.

I used East Rockaway post office on Wednesday to mail a package that needed to get there overnight. I usually go to Oceanside, but was in the area of E.R. and parking is good there.Three times I told the clerk the package needed to be overnighted. At the end of transaction, I asked again-"so this will get there tomorrow?" NO RESPONSE. I am now checking the tracking SATURDAY!!??!?!!? What?!??! it should be there Thursday!This clerk did not verbally respond to me nor did the clerk ever tell me to follow some of the prompts on the pad. Only time I got any interaction was to tell me costSuch disrespect! and now this is going to cost me because I have to spend over $500 to replace item being shipped as it is not arriving in time

The African American worker with short hair is absolutely nasty , only listens to certain people & has selective hearing.She also plays Michael Jordan and launches packages 8-10’ into the packaging bins…If you want you have your items broken please drop your items!

Wow. And I thought the NYC DMV was bad. If you want a taste of poor service, slow to no verbal responses, frowns and eye rolls, then make your way to this pathetic post office in East Rockaway.
