Miss the old Cornell True Value! Better selection, much better customer service and a warm familiar friendly old school vibe in store when it was True value. Now it feels cold and unfriendly. Front of store looks like a dollar store. Basic items I’ve bought there for years not stocked any longer. Some employees are still very helpful especially those who worked there when it was still owned by the FIX family.I was in there recently had a price inquiry. An employee appeared and was about 10 feet away and I politely said hello excuse me and he just looked up at the ceiling and exhaled loudly before looking at me and walking over while I asked him for the price. Wow! Sorry to bother you… After that I was making my way to the front of the store and another customer was trying to reach something on a top shelf. I asked if she needed my help and she said yes. She then proceeded to tell me that she had asked an employee for help reaching the item, a few minutes before, and he told her he couldn’t help her because he doesn’t work in “that department”. What is going on in that store??? Don’t take your customers for granted! We have choices and can shop elsewhere… Lowe’s, Home Depot, or online. Tomorrow, I will go to True Value in White Plains to get a garden item that they no longer stock.

I felt discriminated against by one of their cashiers. I went yesterday, Sunday, April 21, and the cashier followed me and even stood in front of me. He is a white cashier, medium long hair, covering one eye. They should put a sign, WE DO NOT ACCEPT HISPANICS ?

One of the stores in the neighborhood. I opted for curbside pickup - in and out with the helpful staff. My go to place for any gardening and lawn care needs

Cornell's Hardware had what I wanted and it was ready for pick-up shortly after the order was placed.

The best hardware store there is. I've always loved it but the fact that they rescued three cats from the SPCA shows just what wonderful people run that place. Can't beat it!

I walked into true value in eastchester to pick up a ups package for my wife. I go to the ups pick up section and notice nobody is behind the counter. I go to the main cashiers at the front of the store to ask for assistance. The young man, Christian, gave me all the attitude in the world after I told him I was there to pick up. He said no deliveries came in. I asked him if he can check. He wouldn’t because he was 1000% sure my wife’s package wasn’t there.I ask to speak to the manager just to confirm. The manager, Victoria, says the same thing. It’s not there. Neither of them bothered to look once. They were dismissive and condescending. I call my wife back and leave the store. She sends me a confirmation that the package was indeed dropped off at true value Cornell in eastchester. I get back out of my car, walk in and again, nobody at the ups pick up. I ask for assistance from the same young man, Christian and he tells me to find someone to help me. He was “busy” with no customers online. I go back to speak to Victoria, the manager. She tells me in a frustrated tone, “NO” it’s not here. I show her the confirmation email. After about 10 seconds of “searching” my wife’s package was there. I asked why couldn’t they just bother to look at my paperwork initially? Why did we have to do this back and forth? It was an awful example to set for other employees as a manager and clearly her management style is leaching into how other employees treat customers. I called Human Resources and left a complaint. What a smug and arrogant person. Both of them. My family and I just moved to eastchester but we will find another hardware store to go to. My family and I won’t go there after being treated that way.

I love this place! Personalized service with knowledgeable and friendly workers. Daniel personally helped me with a shower head today and saved me a call to my plumber. We're talking saving me at least $200. He went out of his way and solved my problem in just a few minutes. . Skip the big box stores and come here!

This store has everything!! And the prices are very fair. I was a Foley’s in Larchmont customer for years and tolerated the obscene prices as cost of convenience but fortunately discovered Cornell’s. This is my go-to store for anything home, garden, hardware related.

This store records your phone number and email address in their computer. If you do not have your receipt they deduct $$ from your purchase. Meanwhile if they look up your purchase on their computer it shows exactly how much you paid for the product. I don't understand why this business takes money off for no receipt? Why take people's numbers and email addresses and still take$$off of returns. This is so unfair and I feel that this place are a bunch of crooks.
