I have been going here for many years. We frequent trips in the area for skiing in the winter and festivals, mountain biking and weekend getaways in the summer. We made going to Kazoo apart of our trips. Our daughters would love going into the store and picking out a stuffed animal each trip. Unfortunately, in the last 3 years this gift shop has seriously lacked in both friendly customer service and the stuffed animals we shop for.
The clerks seem irritated whenever a question or even a discussion is brought up. Once a salesperson reprimanded my daughter because she thought she was touching too many stuffed animals, I would understand if my daughter was messing up their displays but she was just touching their fur to see which one she liked best ! Another time, we went in ( not knowing they were soon closing) we had picked out our stuffed animals and when we went to buy them the clerk told us she had already counted the money and wasn’t accepting any more purchases! If that was the case, they should’ve told us they were closing the register and to make our purchase! My daughter was very upset as she didn’t understand why she couldn’t get her stuffed animal she chose. The lady didn’t even seem sorry. Instead she just waved her hand at us to leave! The register shouldn’t be counted until the final customer has left!
Recently, we went to find out that they barely even had any of the stuffed animals we come in for. We asked a sales lady if thee were no longer selling them and she said “this is what we have” and then went in some employee door. No other explanation. If they do so well with selling the stuffed animals they should consider bringing in a different popular brand as well. We used to love going here but lately it’s just been a let down with the rude demeanor of the clerks and little stock. It’s disappointing.

Meh, interesting merchandise, no customer service, not even a hi. And I'm a very friendly, approachable person! Sigh

I was sad to read other reviews on here with people being treated unkindly. This was not my experience here, fortunately. There were 2 ladies working and no one was rude to me. One even asked me to let her know if I needed help looking at something. I enjoyed browsing here and found a lot of things unique. I left very happy with my purchases, and they even gave me a little paper describing the meaning behind the piece of art I bought. They wrapped my two breakables in bubble wrapped and they survived all of my shopping and 2 hours of driving. If I had only one complaint, it was not knowing the artist behind the stuff I bought, and perhaps they didn't know and just ordered it from online stock. Who knows. I still love what I bought either way and look forward to stop again next weekend when I'm back in Allegany for the weekend.

Horrible customer service. I bought approximately 135.00 worth of gift items and was told I couldn't get another bag (I'm referring to the free bags given to customers with purchase.). After my second purchase the sales clerk said "Is it ok to put it in your other bag"? I said I'd like another bag because they were both for gifts ( it is allegedly a "gift shop"). She said "Do you know how much bags cost?" I said that I wanted one and that I bought over 130.00 of merchandise, so that should be plenty to justify it. She said "wow" and gave me a dirty look. All three sales personnel did the same. They were all talking at the counter and never offered to help any customers. I can honestly say that I've been going to this shop for many years, and it's been a favorite of mine. I will never go back. It's sad that people don't appreciate customers and treat them kindly at this business.

Very disappointed, was at the store last year took a picture of something I thought would go in our house. Go back 9 months later figured it wouldn’t be there, to my surprise it was still there. I asked the woman if they had others or do I just take the one on the wall . She tells me they don’t t have anymore, I asked about purchasing the one on board said I couldn’t!What, you have something on the wall your clearly selling price is on it for sale but they don’t sell it.Blames it on shipping she’s lying because it’s the same piece from last year with the same price. Anyways won’t go back there I call that TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE you have something your selling but don’t sell it to the customer ??????????

I've been here multiple times during every season of the year. Not once has an associate asked me if I needed any help. Recently went in, saw a piece of jewelry I wanted, tried finding someone to unlock the case and no one could be found (there was maybe 2 other people in the store, if that). Very frustrating.Update: I've tried giving this shop multiple chances but today was the last straw. I went to the counter to cashout and handed my card over, the woman said I needed to enter my pin and I asked to just run it as credit and her response was "well when you run it as credit it costs us more". Are you kidding me? Who would ever say that to a customer especially when your prices are well over retail markup. This woman has never been kind to me any time I shop here and today was the final nail in the coffin.

I <3 Kazoo II. Always warm, friendly and helpful workers. They are so thoughtful and community minded, that they even care about their customers and employees with a safety mask rule <3 They supply masks for anyone that forgot to bring one. I always find wonderful gift items! Artistic, creative items. Jewlery, Mugs, Bronze Style Hooks, Art, Games, Books, Day of the Dead Art, etc. <3

My family and I were shopping around and then asked to leave because we did not have masks on. Fortunately, we were welcomed at many other lovely shops in the town where we were able to do our shopping. We found the staff and atmosphere at Kazoo II unwelcoming and rude. Not a place I would recommend doing business at. There are many other nearby shops with more welcoming staff and atmosphere.

Very different and cool little shop, it had a little bit of something for everyone. Some items I thought were a bit over priced, and the owner hovered a bit, but maybe she was trying to be helpful. I purchased a Buddha and my children each found items they liked. I wish the store had online purchasing as I would buy more

Very beautiful and relaxing feel. Merchandise really seems to flow as you walk through the store and very unique pieces. I ended up picking up carved sandstone egg for my daughter.

This is an interesting little shop and have some interesting items for sale. This is a place to take your time to browse to find that perfect item or gift for someone. We had fun looking through the store. It is small and they asked to wear masks but it was ok. Great place to pop in while walking around Ellicottville.
